LACMA Art + Film Gala: Kate Hudson In Gucci

Gucci-kate-hudson

Who: Actress Kate Hudson

Where: LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala held at LACMA in California sponsored by Gucci

Wearing: A pale pink Gucci halterneck floor-length gown with a plunging neckline, embellished bodice and cut-outs to the side, teamed with a nude box clutch

Verdict: Wow, wow, wow!!! Kate Hudson has really looked spectacular this year when she has hit the red carpet, we’ve had the sexy Balmain mini, the body-con Versace number, and the flawless Tiffany-blue Reem Acra gown that is one of my all-time favourite looks from her.

This gorgeous Gucci gown, with the shimmering bodice is high on my list of her incredible looks – not only does it fit her perfectly, I love how it shows off her toned body, but the blush tone really does balances the sexiness of the plunging neckline and looks gorgeous against the gold embellished bodice.

The only thing, and I have to be honest I am being super picky, is that I am not fussed about her hair – this dress has the wow factor, her body has the wow factor, her smoky eyes and pink lips have the wow factor – but sadly her hair looks a little underwhelming. I agree that it should be up to show off the halterneck of the gown – but it just doesn’t look as put together as the rest of her look for me.

I did say I was being super picky – for me this another breathtaking look from the Hollywood actress.

Clear History Premiere: Kate Hudson Wows In Balmain

WhoKate Hudson

Where: At the premiere of HBO’s ‘Clear History’ film, held in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A patchwork denim embroidered Balmain mini dress from the Resort 2014 collection, teamed with nude suede heels, a silver Jimmy Choo Carman clutch, and Dana Rebecca Designs ikat shaped diamond stud earrings

Verdict: You don’t often see celebs rocking denim on a red carpet, probably for good reason, but this Balmain mini on Kate Hudson is stunning and really is showing off her great legs.

In the lookbook I wasn’t that keen on this short-sleeved dress, there is a lot going on with the patchwork, embroidery, rose and chain embellishments as well as that wrap effect to the skirt, but Kate really pulls it off with ease.

What I love about this look other than how incredible Kate’s legs look, has to be the fact it shouldn’t work but it does – this is a red carpet risk that totally paid off and I am sure it will be at the top of most people’s best dressed list this week.

Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball: Kate Hudson In Reem Acra

Kate-hudson-reem-acraWho: Kate Hudson

Where: At the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball, held at the Rockefeller Center in New York City

Wearing: A Tiffany-blue Reem Acra gown featuring a sweetheart neckline, bow-tie detailing to the waist, and a thigh-high split from the Resort 2013 collection, teamed with Tiffany & Co. jewellery, Jimmy Choo nude peep-toe ‘Crown’ platform heels, and a metallic textured leather ‘Ava’ box clutch by Tiffany & Co.

Verdict: What I love about Kate Hudson is that she always ups the glamour stakes on a red carpet and this inspired Tiffany-blue gown is totally divine. There is a an old-school Hollywood glamour about this incredible look, maybe it is the pale blue colour of the gown, maybe it is the sweetheart neckline, or maybe it is just a combination of the knock-out gown, her hair side-swept into gorgeous waves, and her seductive but not OTT Angelina Jolie pose, showing off just the right amount of leg!!!

I also have to give her credit for not over-doing the jewellery, which must have been hard having the pick of all of Tiffany & Co., but her pear-shaped morganite and diamond earrings are simply exquisite and worked better than if she had chosen a necklace, and looked perfect with her diamond bracelet and pink diamond ring, all from the 2013 Blue Book Collection. I can’t help but swoon over Tiffany jewels

Kate always seems to get it so right and this has to be one of the most gorgeous looks I have seen from the blonde beauty in a while – everything about it screams glamour, which surely is the point for a Tiffany & Co. ball.

Movie Marathon: Top 5 Fashion Films

Fashion-films-top5-s

This week I was treated to a screening of one of my favourite films Breakfast at Tiffany’s starring the uber-stylish Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golighty by the Millennium Hotel in Mayfair and it got me thinking about what other stylish films I love to watch. There are a lot in my collection so narrowing down to five was hard, but here they are – do you agree?

1. The September Issue

With New York Fashion Week taking place at the moment and the fashion train coming to London on Friday, one of my favourite films that gives a great insight into the world of fashion has to be The September Issue. If you haven’t seen it and want to know what it takes to make a magazine, a look into how Anna Wintour works, and see Grace Coddington in action then this is the fashion film for you. Each time I watch I see/learn something different.

2. Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I think Holly Golighty has to be the original party girl and Audrey Hepburn plays her with such style and elegance and I love her oversized sunnies, the hats, and the tailored dresses. Plus George Peppard isn’t bad to look at!!! I love the idea of doing a day of firsts, playing Moon River on repeat, and I totally agree looking into Tiffany’s windows calms me right down as well. An iconic movie that never gets old, each time I see I love it a little more.

3. How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

I couldn’t have my top five fashion films without including this Kate Hudson romantic comedy with the hunky Matthew McConaughey. Just for her incredible yellow gown at the end, paired with the gorgeous Isadora diamond it is a stylish must-see flick. But it is more than that, I also love her backless grey dress that she wears to the bar and her laid-back causal jeans and vest on the motorbike, basically this film just makes me love Kate Hudson even more. Can you imagine Gwyneth Paltrow as Andie? Apparently she was down to play the lead – I just don’t think the film would have been the same.

4. Sex and the City

Fashion and SATC goes hand-in-hand and I couldn’t do a fashionable movie marathon without including New York’s most stylish ladies – Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda. I loved the series, I had/have an obsession on Sarah Jessica Parker and her character Carrie, everything from her signature necklace, her love of shoes and her boy troubles and this big screen version cheers me right up. Plus you have to watch just to see Carrie in that gorgeous Vivienne Westwood wedding gown!!!

5. The Devil Wears Prada

Not only do I love this film because it is supposedly based on Lauren Weisberger’s real life while she was at Vogue, but it was Anne Hathaway’s breakaway film from the Princess Diaries, oh and I do love a transformation film. Plus this film is packed full of fashionable looks, from Andy’s Chanel blazer, that distressed studded bag, the hats, oh and that black John Galliano dress. Oh and I do love any film that includes shots of Paris.

There were a lot of films I had to leave out like Clueless, Some Like It Hot, Almost Famous – a classic Kate Hudson film, Coco Before Chanel, and another Audrey Hepburn classic, Funny Face.

What are you favourite go-to fashion flicks?
