Of course we all love the official red carpet snaps from award shows, but this year I think all the fun is going to happened on Instagram as this past year actresses and actors really have got on board and embraced the picture sharing site, I am obsessed with following Diane Kruger, Reese Witherspoon, and Kate Hudson. It was so fun to see A-list celebs sharing all the behind-the-scenes gossip from the Golden Globes – from the make-up chair, inside the limo, on the red carpet, during the award show and of course those boozy after parties. So I thought I would share a few of my favourites so you could add them you following list ahead of the next award show. Are you following your favourite A-listers on Instagram?
One of my girl crushes is Kate Hudson, not just for her incredible red carpet fashion style, but also for her killer body, basically she is my gym-inspiration so I am pretty excited about her new fitness line, Fabletics.
Inspired by her own personal wardrobe and active lifestyle, Fabletics is fashionable and affordable, you can get a whole outfit for as little as £44, plus the collection really does cater for all body shapes and has a really funky, fun Californian vibe that will make you want to hit the gym.
I went to check out the collection a few weeks ago and I was super impressed, the fabrics are soft with added stretch, they look fun, and I really loved how so many of the items layered together perfectly, which is probably why the label is all about outfits. You can pick up a sports bra, a loose T-shirt and cropped leggings – everything Kate says you needs for a workout – I just wish you also got her body when wearing her designs!!!
To get the best price for an outfit you have to become a VIP member of Fabletics, where you receive a whole new fitness outfit every four weeks, if you don’t like anything that month you can just opt out, but you have to do so within a time limit, which to be honest can be a little annoying and I always seem to forget.
But if you workout a lot, like to change up your look and generally buy a lot of sportswear each month then this subscription service could work for you as you do save up to 40% off retail prices with the VIP membership. However, if you are like me and rotates about three outfits that you feel comfortable in and rarely get new fitness gear you might want to just shop the line as a regular member.
What do you think of Kate Hudson’s fitness collection? Would you wear to the gym?
I picked out these black leggings with the sheer panels and I can’t wait to wear them – don’t they just look slimming.
Who: Actress Kate Hudson
Where: At the 86th Academy Awards held in Los Angeles, California
Wearing: A pale silver custom Atelier Versace gown with a plunging neckline and adorned with Swarovski crystals from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with a matching cape top and Jimmy Choo heels
Verdict: Wowzer, Kate Hudson always brings it on the red carpet. Just like Diane Kruger, I have a bit, OK a lot of a girl crush on Kate as she is simply always flawless and this stunning look is another example of how beautiful she is.
This is one gorgeous gown, I love its old school Hollywood glamour vibe, from the liquid metallic shimmer to the encrusted beads to the dramatic draped cape atop of her shoulders, this is a show-stopping outfit that is most certainly one of my best dressed looks of the night.
This dress marries sexy with the plunging neckline with an elegance and glamour of the colour, the cape, and the exquisite hair and make-up. I am seriously in love with this look.
Gorgeous. Gorgeous. Gorgeous.
Shot by Alexi Lubomirski, Kate shows off her super toned body in a gorgeous selection of designer clothing from the festive red Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci dress and Alexander McQueen gowns to her shimmering Lanvin gown on the cover.
As well as working gorgeous gowns, the actress also looks hots in a cut-out gold embellished Roberto Cavalli swimsuit, which doesn’t scream December issue to me – but hey she looks stunning so why not!!!
In the magazine she chats about her family, keeping fit, as well as discussing her favourite red carpet moments: “The black-and-gold Alexander McQueen dress I wore to the Golden Globes, and a red Stella McCartney and a red Prabal Gurung. I haven’t really done Valentino yet, but I want to.”
I think Kate would look amazing in a floaty Valentino number – here’s hoping that happens during the up-coming award season!!!
Will you be buying the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar US?
