Shoe Lust: Kate Beckinsale’s Jimmy Choo ‘Myth’ Sandals

star-trek-la-kate-beckinsal

Who: Actress Kate Beckinsale

Where: At the premiere of Paramount Pictures’ “Star Trek Into Darkness” held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California

Wearing: A black strapless Alberta Ferretti dress with an asymmetrical hem from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo black and yellow ‘Myth’ sandals also pre-fall 2013, statement Irit silver chain embellished earrings and a black satin clutch

Verdict: Black and neon can’t fail for me and I am in love with this high-fashion yet simple look from Kate. Black is already a slimming colour but this structured dress really nips in her already tiny waist and petite frame to perfection. I also love the voluminous skirt and asymmetrical hemline on this dress, don’t you think it makes her look even tinier or is that just me???

But what makes this outfit for me has to be those exquisite Jimmy Choo ‘Myth’ heels – I love how the delicate black suede straps are mixed in with the patent neon yellow ones. The flash of neon against the black makes these beauties stand out and they stop this look from being boring.

I am also so pleased that Kate didn’t feel the need to pair these heels with matching neon yellow nail varnish as the nude shade that she is wearing complements them so much more.

Also I can’t mention her incredible Irit drop earrings – aren’t they interesting? I love the silver chain detailing, which kind of gives them a punk feel and they totally wouldn’t have looked out-of-place at last week’s Met Gala.

Are you loving these heels as much as me?

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Kate Beckinsale Wearing Monique Lhuillier

kate-beckinsale-VF2013Who: Kate Beckinsale

Where: At the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars party, held at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood

Wearing: A strapless tulle Monique Lhuillier dress with gold embroidery from the autumn/winter 2013 collection, teamed with Jimmy Choo shoes, a Roger Vivier Paint Box clutch and Chopard jewellery

Verdict: I love this autumn/winter 2013 collection from Monique Lhuillier and this gold-embroidered beauty was perfect for the Vanity Fair party and looked incredible on Kate Beckinsale.

I missed Kate at the main event she always does seem to bring the glamour and I love this princess tulle dress as it is whimsical, stylish and fun, which sometimes isn’t always the case with big Hollywood events.

It is dresses like this that makes the Vanity Fair party red carpet better than the Oscars main event.

Total Recall: A Week Of Glamour – Kate Beckinsale vs Jessica Biel

The Total Recall promo tour really has stepped up a gear since it hit Europe and both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel have been using their star power to snag some of the most beautiful red carpet designed dresses I have seen in a long while. This week the stars of the Total Recall hit Berlin, Dublin and London and they really didn’t disappoint – two gorgeous Donna Karan gowns, an exquisite Elie Saab sparkler, a couple of Zac Posen dresses, and a standout feathered Giambattista Valli Couture look.

This has been one serious face-off this week between Kate and Jessica – see my favourite looks below and let me know who you think came out on top!!!

Kate Beckinsale:

For the LA premiere I hinted that I thought Kate had a new stylist due to her dramatic, high couture looks that she has been working, well it turns out that I am right and you will never guess who it is – only Taylor Jacobson, you know Rachel Zoe’s ex-assistant, I have to be honest I am seriously impressed with how she has styled Kate for this Total Recall promotional tour.

A week in which two amazing Donna Karan gowns grace the red carpet is always perfect, but wow to both, first up was a Barbie-pink dress from the Resort 2013 collection, it just oozes glamour with the architectural details to the bust and hips – similar to the dramatic Armani worn in LA but much more girlie and I love this hot-pink shade on her.

But it has to be the divine styling of her London premiere look that got me most excited this week. On its own this gorgeous black strapless gown with glitter sequinned details and a thigh-high split from the autumn/winter 2012 collection is incredible, style it with the bow belt from the pre-fall 2012 collection and it is simply breathtaking. I am seriously in love with this look!!!

I was also floored by her looks in Germany, first up was the demure purple Zac Posen dress for the photocall, and then she completely smashed it at the Berlin premiere in her ivory rose-swirl embellished Naeem Khan gown from the autumn/winter 2012 collection.

I can’t believe that these four looks all happened in one week, there were more a lot more, I had to narrow it down – as Kate also turned to designers Andrew GN, Preen, Paule Ka, and DVF for her after party and day-time looks.

Jessica Biel:

Jessica Biel has also been surprising me on this promo tour, maybe there is some rivalry over being the best dressed, as she really has stepped up her game.

The Couture looks from America continued to Europe and she went for one of my favourite looks from the Giambattista Valli spring 2012 couture collection for the London premiere. Everything about this look is completely flawless – I love the masculine vs feminine vibe of the look with the tuxedo-style shirt teamed with lace sleeves and a feather peplum. But seriously what makes this a standout look has to be the styling of the neon-pink Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Jessica has liked to go short on this promo tour, she wore Dior Couture in LA which fell just above her ankles, then there was Elie Saab Couture in New York, and it seems Europe is also seeing her legs as for the Dublin premiere she wore a strapless cream and gold Jacquard Zac Posen gown with a divine origami-style bodice from the autumn/winter 2012. Granted this isn’t my favourite of her looks but I included as I love that she has changed up her hair with a messy faux-bob.

I haven’t been as wowed by Jessica as I have been with Kate, but what I have loved is her more directional style, OK some of it she hasn’t quite pulled off but at least she has committed to it. For the Berlin photocall it was great to see her wearing another one of my favourite emerging designers Christian Cota, normally for a photocall stars go for Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, or DVF for there smart tailored dresses, I love that Jessica went for a fun summery look in this watercolour printed crop top and tiered skirt from the spring/summer 2011 collection.

My favourite of Jessica’s looks has to be the divine Elie Saab autumn/winter 2012 gown that she shimmered in for the Berlin premiere. This is high-glamour at its very best, I love the sparkles, I adore the open back, and I want her hair!!! Hot, hot, hot!!!

My Best Dressed:

It was hard to pick just one look each but I have decided to go for the two black sparklers, I am in love with the styling and glamour of both looks from Donna Karan and Elie Saab and both Kate and Jessica look incredible.

Which looks get your vote?

Total Recall: Kate Beckinsale in Giorgio Armani Privé

Who: Kate Beckinsale

Where: At the Hollywood premiere of ‘Total Recall’ at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A strapless green and black reptile-print Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture gown from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with Lorraine Schwartz black diamond drop earrings

Verdict: So we are all thinking that Kate has got a new stylist right with this dramatic look? Usually Kate seems to go for pretty rather than standout, generally a lot of sparkles, ruffles and occasionally with a hint of sexy – well it seems that Kate totally went for it with her latest red carpet look with this uber-glamorous and incredible gorgeous Armani couture gown.

I am sure for some this dress will be an instant dislike because of the reptile print, but come on don’t you think that adds to the drama of this gown? I love the way the print seems to follow the curves of her body and the green just pops beautifully.

Of course she couldn’t go too wild so we still see her with her trademark tousled ‘do and barley there make-up I think I would have liked to see something a little more edgy, maybe a slicked back bun and smokey eyes. But I do love that she let the dress do the talking and didn’t go crazy with her accessories – the drop earrings and plain black band ring work perfectly.

What do you think of Kate’s dramatic look – love or hate?
