If I said to you that a French fashion house went for a Pitbull song as the track to their latest campaign, be honest you would think I had lost the plot, well that is what Lanvin has done for autumn/winter 2011.
The campaign shot by Steven Meisel features super models Karen Elson and Raquel Zimmerman busting some shapes to Pitbull’s ‘I Know You Want Me’, and it is a super fun and stylish video. It is so good it even makes me question whether a print campaign was even needed.
I am so glad that this campaign turned out as well as it sounds on paper, admittedly Raquel doesn’t look as comfortable as Karen *she is a goddess after all*, and the men don’t exactly cut it for me, but you have to watch all the way to end to check out Alber Elbaz – he completely steals the show with his dance moves.
Seriously, awkward really is sexy.
Does anyone else want to plug in the Xbox Kinect and bust a few moves? I am think next gathering at mine, get glammed up and film our own Lanvin-inspired dance video – who is up for it?
Also who fancies buying me a Lanvin cape?
Back in September the fashion world was a buzz with Tom Ford returning to womenswear in New York, well finally the show has been released and it is an amazing masterpiece of drama and fashion rolled into one.
I love that Tom Ford stands by the sidelines throughout presenting each piece, taking in the intimate setting to debut his first womenswear collection in six years. For me Beyonce and Julianne Moore stole the runway from the models – both looking fabulous and confident, and definitely fore-filled Tom Ford’s concept of real women.
I have obviously seen the images of the collection online, but seeing the drama unfold, how few people were actually at the show, and the amount of fun everyone in the audience and models were having, also seeing Terry Richardson shooting it – amazing energy for such a gorgeous collection.
Also wondering about the music? Apparently it is Karen Elson singing a song entitled, Pretty Babies. Simply stunning!!
I have been obsessed with this Burberry shearling leather aviator jacket since it strutted down the runway in February and it looks amazing on the October cover of Harper’s Bazaar – oh and the flame-haired beauty that is Karen Elson also looks great!!
But check out that subscriber cover – I spy a Miu Miu metal floral appliqué – magazine Editor’s really are loving that collection.
The October issue is on sale September 7.
