This week the Oscar nominations were finally announced, and I was super excited as this is one of my favourite award shows, as the stars really do shine in the most impeccable gowns.
Well here is a taste of who got nominated…going for the leading ladies as come on that is who is going to sparkle *fingers crossed* on the red carpet.
Fighting it out for Best Actress in a Leading Role we have: Annette Bening, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Natalie Portman, and Michelle Williams. I have to admit I am so pleased that my latest style crush Jennifer is amongst this line-up as I was so impressed with her Louis Vuitton gown at the Golden Globes. Of course Nicole is going to bring her elegance, Natalie is continuing to show how to do maternity wear in style, and I have seriously got my fingers crossed that Michelle really brings it as I was disappointed with her Golden Globes gown.
I was also super pleased for Ken and Barbie that Toy Story 3 were nominated in both Animated Feature Film and Best Picture. But was a little disappointed that the Rodarte costumes of Black Swan didn’t make the cut. Check out the full list here on the Academy’s website.
Well of course I can’t wait for February 27, as this year’s event is being hosted by the stylish Anne Hathaway *by super stylist Rachel Zoe* and the gorgeous James Franco. I love the promo picture above as it really gives us a taste of what’s to come from Anne, especially as she looks so chic in this black silk jersey J.Mendel long-sleeve gown, with its detailed bodice and column skirt – gorgeous!!
Also below is the Oscar promo ad, check out Anne wearing Jeremy Scott’s gold wing shoes – LOVE these so much on her! Also Anne and James have chemistry – I really think this year is going be a great show.
Roll on February 27 – I can’t wait to be staying up all night long blogging away and enjoying the show!
Who: Newlywed Katy Perry and winner of Best Video
Where: At the MTV Europe Awards 2010 at the La Caja Magica in Madrid
Wearing: An ‘Admit One’ Jeremy Scott dress from the spring/summer 2011 collection
Verdict: Thank God for Katy Perry, as I was getting a little bored with the red carpet, I absolutely love it. The red and black sequinned dress paired with bright blue sling-backs is great styling. Married life obviously suits Katy as she looks fun and cute.
I love how creative Jeremy Scott is, making the dress into a old-style cinema stub is genius.
It’s just the ticket *sorry I couldn’t resist*.
