Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Jaime King In Jason Wu

Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Jaime King In Jason Wu %tag
Who: Jaime King

Where: At the 18th Critics’ Choice Movie Awards held in Santa Monica, California

Wearing: A strappy black embellished Jason Wu gown featuring a plunging neckline and a sheer skirt with a central split, teamed with a coordinated Jason Wu belt, Christian Louboutin heels, a gold-lined minaudiere, and black and gold jewellery

Verdict: Channelling Old Hollywood was definitely the biggest trend from last night’s Critics’s Choice awards, whereas the others seem to be romantic and feminine I love that Jamie went for an edgy and vampish take on the trend.

This was probably one of the sexiest looks of the night, I love the central split in the sheer skirt, it just makes her legs look like they go on for miles. I am also a big fan of the black and gold combination and this look really grabbed my attention.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu

Diane kruger 3 Jaeger LeCoultre Opening: Diane Kruger In Jason Wu %tagWho: Diane Kruger

Where: At the Jaeger-LeCoultre Vendome Boutique opening in Paris

Wearing: A blackless navy lace Jason Wu jumpsuit with a black belt hot off the spring/summer 2013 catwalk, teamed with black Giuseppe Zanotti heels and of course a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch

Verdict: Wow, wow, wow – what a jumpsuit. I love everything about this look from the navy colour to the lace-luxe, to the gorgeous tailored silhouette of the jumpsuit, but most of all I adore her retro 40s-inspired hairdo and red lips.

I love how Diane can channel old-Hollywood glamour so perfectly, this look is another reason I seriously crush on this girl, she always seems to get it right on the red carpet and she makes it seem easy to rock a jumpsuit, which most of us over the size of 8 will no isn’t.

Jumpsuits have had a lot of attention this year on the red carpet, Kristen Stewart was just seen in a peek-a-boo lace jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad on her Twilight tour, Emma Stone wore a glitzy Elie Saab tuxedo-style jumpsuit to the London premiere of Spider-Man, Elizabeth Banks rocked a black jumpsuit to the MTV Movie Awards, and at the start of the year Rose Byrne put herself in the spotlight in a vintage white embroidered Elie Saab beauty with a deep v-neck at the SAG Awards. All amazing looks.

It doesn’t matter how many times I see a jumpsuit on the red carpet I adore it just the same, but I am putting this navy lace number by Jason Wu right to the top of my best dressed jumpsuits as I love how glamorous it looks on Diane.

What do you think of Diane’s retro curls and jumpsuit look?

Cover Loving: It’s Britney Biatch!!!

BritneyElle Cover Loving: Its Britney Biatch!!! %tag

I don’t hide the fact that I absolutely love Britney, no matter what this girl rocks for me, and I can’t wait to add the October issue of ELLE to my very large collection of Britney Spear magazine covers.

Styled by Joe Zee and shot by Alexi Lubomirski, Britney looks incredible in this studded Versace dress. Granted it isn’t the most original of covers, it isn’t going to push Gwen Stefani’s ELLE UK cover off my best October cover, but I do love how hot Britney looks in these shots.

In the accompanying editorial, the X-Factor judge looks ready to hit the stage in one of the shots as she works The Blonds Swarovski-crystal-embellished bloomers, with a Dolce & Gabbana satin bra, a striking blue Jason Wu leather jacket and cut-out satin Roger Vivier boots. But it was the appearance of her fiancé Jason Trawick that surprised me – I have to say it, they do look cute together.

In the interview Britney chats about her fiancé, how she doesn’t care about the paparazzi anymore, and her laid-back fashion style:

“I love my jeans and my sweats-I’m really just a tomboy at heart. So it’s really hard for me to be like Kim Kardashian and be makeup-and hair-ready every time I  go out of my house. I’m not a believer in that, you know? On the other hand, when you do wear those sweats, you’re like, Oh God, I should step it up a notch.”

I can’t wait to pick up this issue – what do you think of Britney’s latest magazine cover?

Plastic Loving: Melissa Adds Jason Wu And Gareth Pugh

SS12Melissa11 Plastic Loving: Melissa Adds Jason Wu And Gareth Pugh %tag

I have kind of gone a little crazy over the Jason Wu for Target collection that I totally forgot that the New York-based designer has also teamed up with Brazilian plastic shoe brand, Melissa. Both shoes are based on pre-existing Melissa bestsellers, my favourite the Ultragirl ballet flat, and the Lady Dragon peep-toe sling-back, with both coming with a Wu injection – the ballet flats with a Miss Wu owl logo bow and a sunburst design is adorned on the heels, which has come directly from Wu’s autumn/winter 2011 collection.

Both styles are available in black, merlot, and putty, with the flats also coming in a nude smoke design as well, and all feature lace printed lining, which looks cool on the wine coloured ‘merlot’.

The plastic candy-smelling brand is also continuing its collaboration with Vivienne Westwood with new colours for the iconic Lady Dragon heart adorned sling-backs; and new for spring is a graphic collection with British designer Gareth Pugh featuring his signature zig-zag print.

The Gareth Pugh collection comprises of two styles: a flat peep-toe Ultragirl adorned with his signature zig-zag print; and a gladiator sandal which comes in combinations of black, white and silver – both inspired by the designer’s spring/summer 2009 collection.

From the Melissa White collection – my favourite has to be these yellow printed Melissa Peace wedges – how cute are they!!

Top Picks: From The Jason Wu For Target Collection

JasonWuTarget2 Top Picks: From The Jason Wu For Target Collection %tag

I do love a designer collaboration and I have been excited about the Jason Wu for Target collection since it was announced last year and even more so since I saw the lookbook. Full of flattering dresses, pretty blouses, floral prints and quirky tote bags this is one of the best affordable designer lines I have seen in a while. Don’t get me wrong the Versace for H&M was amazing, but this is all completely wearable and timeless.

It is times like this that I am sad that I don’t like in America!! The collection drops on February 5 and trust me it is going to fly off the racks.

The full lookbook is now online at Target’s Facebook page and these are my top picks – the navy dress and that cute kittie tote are gorgeous.

Golden Globes: Michelle Williams In Jason Wu

michellewilliams Golden Globes: Michelle Williams In Jason Wu %tag

Who: Golden Globe-winning actress Michelle Williams

Where: At the 69th Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: An amethyst coloured burn-out velvet Jason Wu column gown with three-quarter sleeves, accessorised with a Judith Leiber clutch, and a vintage Fred Leighton headband

Verdict: I am sure this look could go either way for Michelle, for me I love this velvet gown it has something a little different to it, but I am sure for a lot this will just be so far from a traditional awards gown that it will make its way onto worst dressed lists. As well as the colour being perfect, the dress itself looks incredible on her, but what makes it for me is that touch of Twenties class with the vintage headband. Out of all the headbands that rocked the red carpet from Charlize Theron to Busy Phillips I think Michelle’s works the best.

Red Carpet Style: Emma Stone Goes Green For Awards

emmastone Red Carpet Style: Emma Stone Goes Green For Awards %tag

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the 2012 People’s Choice Awards in LA, where she picked up both Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Comedic Movie Actress awards

Wearing: A tailored Gucci trouser suit from the spring/summer 2012 collection, with a bright green blazer and white shirt, teamed with a gold clutch, black heels and Tiffany & Co. jewellery

Verdict: I love Emma’s quirky style, this circus ringmaster-meets-waiter-meets-a tuxedo twist really stood out on the red carpet and I think captured her personality really well. For me this look was more a film premiere than an awards ceremony, especially one in which she was nominated in, but saying that it is nice to see something different on the red carpet.

Where: At the Critics’ Choice Awards 2012 in Los Angeles

Wearing: An emerald-green and black printed Jason Wu gown with keyhole cut detailing from the pre-fall 2012 collection, teamed with a black belt and hooped earrings

Verdict: Now this is more like it, I loved the quirky suit but you can’t beat a flowing Jason Wu gown, and this emerald-green shade really pops against her red hair. I also love her smoky eyes and the mussed-up chignon – red carpet perfection.

It if wasn’t for Diane Kruger working a gorgeous pastel Prada ensemble she would have been my best dressed.
