Project 365: Day 123 – My Gorgeous Nadine Bag

Day123 500x500 Project 365: Day 123 My Gorgeous Nadine Bag %tag

You may recognise this gorgeous vintage-inspired colour-block Gladstone bag, better known now as my Nadine, as I raved about it when I saw StylistPick’s spring/summer 2012 preview back in December, well I finally got her!!!

I knew it was coming in the April picks, and even though it wasn’t in my showroom, I nearly didn’t snag this beauty as I really do feel like April whizz by quicker than usual.

I have been carrying this beauty all day and I have had so many amazing comments, mainly that people think it is vintage, which is kind of the idea as I just love its ladylike vibe and the colours are perfection the pale pink works amazingly with the pastel blue, and I love the texture-effect to the faux leather.

But people are also loving the shape and size, which is perfect to carry all my blogging needs in this crazy press day season. I snapped it with my camera, diary, notepad, umbrella, make-up, tickets, purse, etc., inside and you wouldn’t be able to tell, as it fits it all and keeps it shape.

But even though it was in the StylistPick April showroom I noticed that the site has changed slightly and there is a new Last Chance section and the beautiful Nadine is in there, be quick as once she is gone, she is gone, and at only £39.95 I can’t expect it taking long for her to sell out.

Do you love Nadine as much as me?

Bag Lust: The Heritage Bayswater Mulberry Satchel

BlakeMulberry Bag Lust: The Heritage Bayswater Mulberry Satchel %tag

You may have gathered by now that bags are kind of my thing, and lusting over them seems to be a full-time occupation. I am lucky enough to own a number of designer bags, but a Mulberry has alluded me so far, and maybe it is because I always seem to fall in love with the most expensive one!!

If only I was Blake Lively, she seems to have nearly all the Mulberry collection, and this gorgeous Heritage Bayswater Satchel in super-soft haircalf and ostrich is the latest one I have seen her carrying leaving the Gossip Girl set. There is a downside to crushing over this bag, it is a whopping £3,500, but I just love how it has been inspired from the Mulberry archives and those poacher-style straps are cute.

Do you have a favourite Mulberry style?

Bag Lust: Three Of My Must-Have Handbags

handbag Bag Lust: Three Of My Must Have Handbags %tag

Last week I went to Forever 21 *post coming soon on my buys* but after dreaming about a bag I stupidly didn’t buy I thought I would blog about the three bags that I completely lusting over. All three bags are so different, but all so me, and I have to buy them!!!

1. Embroidered Aztec Duffle Bag, Forever 21, £29.75

I picked this bag up about four times on my first visit to Forever 21′s new London store but for some reason I talked myself out of buying it. But come on what is not to love about this Aztec-inspired colourful duffle?? I love everything from the colour to the size of this bag, and that buckled front pocket is perfect for storing my train ticket, which I am always loosing in my bag!!

2. 14″ Pink Satchel, The Cambridge Satchel Company, £81

I have been wanting a satchel for a while, and I couldn’t decide between navy, a classic colour such as tan or this pink one, I think bright is the way to go. The Cambridge Satchel’s come in various sizes from 11″, which would make a great clutch, to 15″ perfect for a laptop, as well as various colours. What I also love is you can either have shoulder straps or backpack style, and you can get the satchel embossed – this pink beauty would look amazing with DWS *my initials* in silver lettering!!

3. Colour Block Thatcher Top Handle Bag, Oasis, £30

So as well as a fun casual bag and a funky satchel I also chose a vintage-inspired handbag from Oasis, which would complement any work outfit, and also reminds me of a Celine handbag. Great size, cute handle at the top, and I love turn locks. Classic in design and will go with everything.

If you answered yes, then be prepared as this is a gorgeous collection fusing a colour palette of lime, orange and tan, with highlights of nude, blush and peach, and of course the signature sparkles and embellishments that makes Angel Jackson special, and I just love the bohemian vibe of the line.

What I love about Angel Jackson has to be the fact that this label gives us everything, from practical totes in exquisite soft leathers and neutral colour palette, to intricate evening clutches that will last you a life time.

AW11 Press Day: Lulu Guinness Shows Me Her Lips

luluaw11pic1 AW11 Press Day: Lulu Guinness Shows Me Her Lips %tag

I love hangbag and accessory press days the most I think, there are always so nicely displayed, and the Lulu Guinness’ press day, showcasing her autumn/winter 2011 collection was no different. Set in the amazing space of The Savile Club, if you haven’t been there before think decadent detailings, high ceilings, spiralling staircases, a glamorous and divine setting for a collection inspired by the 1950′s Parisian Couture era.

There is a lovely mix to the collection, from gorgeous evening clutches to practical totes, postcard wallets, and a revamped version of my fav the Eliza doll face bag.

But for me it is the clutches that stand out the most: the fan bags (above), including the one that Helena Bonham Carter took with her to the Oscars; the sexy and flirty lip clutches, which come studded, Swarovski Crystalized, in Snakeskin, Perspex, glitter and even with a Union Jack or Stars and Stripes print; and new this season the structured box clutch (check out leopard print below), of course still complete with the signature lips clasp.

Love animal prints? Well look no further than this leopard print large Pollyanna, I really do love its vintage feel to the shape and clasp.

The Wanda (above) is still the icon bag of the collection, this season my favourite had to be this studded bow, it really does give you the feel of the inspiration behind the line, it kind of makes me think of a draped cocktail gown.

The studded black leather one is my stand-out piece, but I also loved the moody flower print and the shimmering wet-look metallic handbag, such great contrasting items. What makes it even better is that the Wanda line generally retails around the £300 mark, so for a designer bag with attitude, and room to carry all your things, this is a good shout.

I am also glad that the shop-front and fashion-inspired totes have returned for another season, practical-yet-chic and I love them. The little purses, around £50 price point, really do make great cosmetic bags.

The handbags I loved the most though were the revamped Eliza doll face bags, which now come with cherry patent coloured hair and a studded bow. The small oval shoulder strap handbag has certainly been added to my wishlist. So cute – to be honest I want them all!!!

Wishlist: Loewe Cherry Blossom

pic1 Wishlist: Loewe Cherry Blossom %tag

Luxury Spanish label Loewe *pronounced Lo-er-vay *, has launched a limited edition collection coinciding with the cherry trees coming into bloom.

I love cherry blossom, and freakly I was discussing with my other-half today how I wanted a blossom tree in the garden, to over hang our patio. I want it even more now I have found out that the cherry blossom is an emblem of love, an omen of good fortune, as well as signalling the start of spring.

Seriously, what a great idea for a collection, romantic and with a colour palette to-die-for, featuring soft, greyed off pastel shades named Bud and Powder *adorable*, with highlights of fuschia, and all inspired by the cherry blossom found at the Kiyomizu temple in Kyoto.

The collection comprises of five pieces: three bags, a zip-around purse and a bag charm, with prices ranging from €2,500 for the Ala to €175 for the charm.

pic3 Wishlist: Loewe Cherry Blossom %tag

My favourite piece has to be the Ala, which has 368 flowers that are mounted by hand, taking a craftsman 16 hours just to construct and place them. Such an exquisite bag, and I love the soft pink shade.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, which will be available from the end of March, Loewe has collaborated with photographer Nigel Shafran, who has created this amazing-yet-haunting playful images.

Now, all I need to do is figure out how I am going to afford the Ala.
