LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala: Amy Adams vs Cameron Diaz In Gucci Yellow

Gucci amy vs cameron LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala: Amy Adams vs Cameron Diaz In Gucci Yellow %tag

On Saturday, a host of celebrities hit the red carpet to attend the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala host by Gucci honouring Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick – I have already gushed about Rosie, but two other ladies that also impressed me were Amy Adams and Cameron Diaz both wearing yellow.

Both went for spring/summer 2013 collection looks, Cameron opted for a short number showing off her fab legs, whereas Amy went for an elegant floor-skimming gown with a bejewelled waistband. Both look amazing, both really pull off this tricky yellow colour, not quite sunshine yellow, not quite mustard it is somewhere in-between  and in some photographs it even looked a little neon, but I love the contrast of the short and long it made both looks stand out for me.

Amy’s look is more traditional for a gala even, it is floor-length, has added sparkle with the waistband and her clutch and I love the strapless silhouette - but there is something about Cameron’s bell-sleeve belted mini that is just so fun and I absolutely love the crystal-embellished floral neckline.

Which girl in yellow gets your vote – Amy or Cameron? Even with Cameron’s legs looking amazing in this dress I am going to have to say that Amy’s long gown just pips her.

LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley In Gucci

Gucci RHW LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala: Rosie Huntington Whiteley In Gucci %tagWho: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Where: At the LACMA 2012 Art + Film Gala host by Gucci honouring Ed Ruscha and Stanley Kubrick

Wearing: A striking mint green floor-length Gucci gown featuring a ruffled neckline that cascaded down her back, teamed with white Gucci ankle-strap heels and a Gucci perspex clutch - all from the spring/summer 2013 collection

Verdict: The M&S designer/model/actress always looks stunning, she has an effortless beauty about her, which is perfect for this gorgeous elegant gown.

I love her barely there make-up, I truly adore that she wore her hair in a braided bun, it really showed off that wonderful neckline to the dress, and I am so pleased that she teamed her mint green dress with that icy coloured clutch.

I really don’t think I can fault this look. As always Rosie you look stunning.

Friday Eye Candy: Ben Affleck In Gucci At The London Film Festival

BFiArgoBen3 Friday Eye Candy: Ben Affleck In Gucci At The London Film Festival %tag

Who: Ben Affleck

Where: At the “Argo” premiere during the 56th BFI London Film Festival at the Odeon Leicester Square

Wearing: A midnight blue Gucci suit, teamed with a white shirt, a navy and pink stripped tie and brown accessories

Verdict: I am thinking this should be a regular feature – Friday eye candy was definitely in order this morning and it doesn’t get better than a dapper looking Ben Affleck – hot, hot, hot!!!

I love blue suits, and this midnight blue two-button Gucci suit really pops on the red carpet, but for me it is all about the styling – that navy and pink tie looks amazing.

I do love a man in a notch lapel suit, a crisp white shirt and a tie and Ben is completely working this look with ease – add in the unshaven look and I am seriously in love!!!

What do you think – hot or not?

Gucci Premiere Launch: Blake Lively Shimmers In Gucci

GucciPremiereBlakeLively1 Gucci Premiere Launch: Blake Lively Shimmers In Gucci %tag

Who: Blake Lively, the face of Gucci’s new fragrance Gucci Premiere

Where: At the unveiling of the Director’s Cut of the Gucci Premiere film held at the Hotel Cipriani during the 2012 Venice International Film Festival

Wearing: A one-of-a-kind burgundy sleeveless deep v-neck, fully embroidered Gucci cocktail dress featuring raised flower detailing around the neckline, teamed with burgundy python Gucci Kinga Spike high heels, and pink gold and black diamond bracelet and ring finished off her look

Verdict: Well it was a given that Blake would wear Gucci, but what did surprise me was the colour, I love this deep wine shade on her, and I was expecting a gown that skimmed the floor, but I suppose considering she made her entrance on a boat it is hardly surprising that she chose to go short.

Blake looked absolutely incredible, everything from the shade to the high-glitz of the fully embroidered overlapping palettes, to her flawless make-up and messy updo, I love this look from head-to-toe. It may not have been what I was expecting but I love that it wasn’t girlie, this cocktail dress is edgy and it suits her.

I also had to include the picture of Blake with Frida Giannini, as I just adore Frida’s grey silk crepe Gucci cocktail dress with Art Deco-inspired beaded – the silhouette is divine.

What do you think of Blake’s look? Was you expecting something different?

Check out the Nicolas Winding Refn’s director’s cut of the Gucci Premiere film below – I loved the commercial version but this is just exquisite, I especially like the soundtrack.

Venice Film Festival: Salma Hayek In Gucci

SalmaHayekGucci Venice Film Festival: Salma Hayek In Gucci %tag

Who: Salma Hayek

Where: At the second annual Gucci for Women in Cinema Award held during Venice Film Festival

Wearing: A floor-skimming black Gucci gown with sequinned embroidery detailing to the shoulders that goes down the front to her hip, as well as Salma’s trademark plunging neckline, teamed with a beaded clutch and drop earrings

Verdict: When it comes to red carpet glamour Salma seems to be an unofficial ambassador for Gucci, she always chooses them for her big moments whether it is at Cannes, the Golden Globes or in Venice, and I am not surprised when they make her look as smoking as this!!!

This is a classic dress that is made for her sexy body, shows off her assets perfectly, while still looking elegant with the embroidered detailing.

Granted this is nothing new from Salma but all the same it still looks gorgeous.

Cover Loving: Katy Perry Goes Orange For L’Officiel Paris

KatyPerryLofficielParis Cover Loving: Katy Perry Goes Orange For LOfficiel Paris %tag

Wow, wow, wow. I say that not only because the cover is incredible, but I always love it when a magazine surprises me and makes me look twice, and I have to give it to L’Officiel Paris as they really made me look twice to see Katy Perry on their September issue.

This is Katy Perry’s second September cover, the popstar is also gracing ELLE US, however the two covers couldn’t be more different, her black and purple hair is out and instead L’Officiel Paris has turned her hair ginger. At first, second, and even third glance I have to be honest if it didn’t say it so on the cover I would never have believed this was Katy Perry. This look, kind of an ode to Grace Coddington, is so far away from what you expect from Katy, and that is why it so works.

Shot by Cuneyt Akeroglu, I adore the soft styling of Katy, the apricot and black Louis Vuitton dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection is divine with her ginger locks and rosy make-up, and the sneak peek of the inside editorial is just as strong, Katy looks incredible in this Gucci look and that mask is insane. I can’t wait to see more!!!

I am sure that this cover is going to split opinions, for me ginger has never been so hot, but what do you think of Katy’s latest cover?

Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes

BlakevsGwyneth Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes %tag

I have never noticed before until both Gucci and Hugo Boss unveiled their latest fragrance faces that blondes obviously smell better as well as having more fun!!! This week both luxury labels released their short films and both it seems went for a old school Hollywood glamour, Veronica Lake-inspired waves, a room with a view, as well as the trademark sexy walk and the alluring spray shots.

Even if you aren’t that keen on Blake Lively or Gwyneth Paltrow, I don’t think you can deny how amazing they both look in these ads, and I find it staggering that there is a 15 year age gap. Seriously is Gwynnie getting younger?

But striking looks aside in the battle for the best blonde I am going to have to give it to Blake and her Gucci ad, not only does she look stunning in a gold sequin Gucci gown, but it just feels more special and memorable – maybe it is all the gold, very Olympian of them, or maybe it is the historic setting of the Goldstein Residence – but for me this just feels more opulent.

The Hugo Boss ad I think suffers from bad timing, if it didn’t come out at the same time as Gucci’s maybe I would have thought differently about it – but for me it just feels flat. Gwyneth looks stunning in her one-shoulder Hugo Boss dress, but I felt a little weird watching her getting ready – I don’t know it just doesn’t sparkle.

But seeing both Blake and Gwyneth it made me wonder what other famous blondes have rocked a fragrance campaign – and just with a quick spell of research it seems a lot!!! All the big names from Dior to Chanel and Calvin Klein have all gone for a blonde in recent years - literally everyone from Diane Kruger to Scarlett Johannsson and even Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman owned their scents with blonde locks.

I know I am going to get a comment that Keira Knightley is working her brunette hair in a Chanel fragrance campaign and Kristen Stewart was just unveiled by Balenciaga – but come on you know what I am getting at – a high percentage of fragrances seem to be fronted by blondes – I just found that interesting.

So who rocked their blonde locks better for you – Blake or Gwyneth?blondefragranceads Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes %tag
