Who:  Lea Michele, who picked up the Favourite Comedic TV Actress award for her role on Glee

Where: At the People Choice Awards 2013, which were held last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A Barbie pink embellished lace Elie Saab cocktail dress from the spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection, paired with matching Elie Saab shoes

Verdict: Wow, Lea Michele should wear more bright colours, I am loving her in this Barbie pink Elie Saab number. Normally I find that Lea tries a little too hard to do sexy vixen, but on this occasion she looks young and looked like she was actually enjoying the red carpet.

This dress, which has been shorten to show off her incredible legs, is perfection, the colour is fun and perfect for the People’s Choice and I am so glad that she went for matching shoes as pink really does look good against her tanned skin.

As well as the dress and accessories I am also loving her braided hairstyle, however it doesn’t come across as well on photos as it did on the TV.

I am looking forward to seeing what she will wear to the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A black fully embroidered sequinned Reem Acra gown with cap sleeves, a lace inset at the back and a train from the autumn/winter 2011 collection

Verdict: This is a knock-out gown, I love the sihouette, I love the sparkles, and it has the right amount of elegance that every award ceremony needs – simply divine.

Who: Glee’s Lea Michele

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A one-shoulder dusky grey silk-chiffon Atelier Versace gown with a side-split and train, teamed with grey heels and silver clutch

Verdict: This was a great improvement on the Marchesa gown she wore to the Golden Globes, but even though I love the dress – especially if it was worn by someone like Jennifer Lopez or Angelina Jolie, I still think that Lea is trying too hard to be sexy. Maybe this award season she has a new team, or maybe her agent/manager/publicist are trying to push her in another direction than family friendly Glee, but something isn’t connecting with me. Don’t get me wrong Lea is gorgeous, I would just like a dress that is more age-appropriate than overly sexy – plenty of time for that.

Wearing: A black one-shoulder knee-length Versace dress from the autumn/winter 2011 collection with a side-split, paired with black Christian Louboutin peep-toes

Verdict: I adore this dress, the white tulip silhouette detailing to the front is divine and looks stunning on Lea. The side-split gives it sex appeal, which come on she could have so over done with her posing, but here she looks a picture of sophistication.

Where: At the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A blush caviar bead embroidered Oscar de la Renta gown from the spring/summer 2011 collection teamed with Tiffany & Co diamond jewellery

Verdict: I like that Lea is pulling off the sexy siren, this is a gorgeous OdlR gown with its plunging neckline, but for me it is all about the coordinated silver belt – such great styling.

Wearing: A black plunging v-neck Alberta Ferretti gown paired with  Jimmy Choo’s Viola platform heels *which you can just about see*

Verdict: Jayma really knows how to do the red carpet with such ease. I love this black embellished gown, mainly because of the mesh plunging panel to the neckline, gives such an elegant dress a touch of sex appeal. Gorgeous as always – also the pop of red lippy and the addition of the fan clutch – genius.

Hollywood Style Awards: Lea Michele Rocks The Row %tag

Who: Glee starlet Lea Michele

Where: At the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles

Wearing: A white textured strapless The Row column gown teamed with nude Louboutin heels

Verdict: At first I wasn’t sure about this look. I love a column gown, but this one had me questioning whether it worked, and think mainly my initial problems were on the colour and the length. I have been writing this post all day as I keep changing my mind on whether I like it or not.

Let’s go with what I like: the textured detailing is a great addition to this dress, I love the casual vibe that you get with The Row with the pockets, and to be honest the only thing that works with the length for me is that it is strapless.

What I am not so sure about: it has to be the colour if this was in black or navy I don’t think I would have gone back and forth like I have, I am also thinking she could have done more with her hair and shoes.

I am just torn on whether this is a hit or a miss dress – what do you guys think?
