Cover Loving: Rihanna For Glamour US

Wow, now this is a whole different side of Rihanna. Gracing the November issue of Glamour US, Rihanna looks gorgeous and girlie showing off her curly cropped hair and striking eyes. Normally the singer is all about sex appeal, but what I love about this cover is how girlie she looks, with a touch of RiRi attitude of course!!!

Wearing a Dior bodysuit, Kenneth Jay Lane hoop earrings and a Lynn Ban cuff, this is one gorgeous cover, but what draws you in though has to be her make-up, from her dramatic eyes to the soft lip colour.

Made-up using products from her own Mac collection, I love the bronze and gold metallic eye shadow and strong eyeliner – it really does make her green eyes pop. With her eyes looking so incredible it looks like the rest of her face is make-up less. Simply gorgeous.

For me this is one captivating cover – are you a fan of RiRi’s latest editorial?

Editorial Loving: Chloe Moretz Channels Old Hollywood For US Glamour

Do you ever see some editorials and think why wasn’t that on the cover? Well that’s how I am feeling about the September issue of US Glamour. For the ‘Hollywood Issue’ the magazine went for Jennifer Aniston, yes I know she still sells covers, yes she does have a film out, but it just didn’t blow me away, on the other hand this editorial featuring young starlet Chloe Moretz channelling Old Hollywood glamour is divine.

Shot by legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier, the young actress of Kickass fame looks gorgeous in this editorial which mixes 1940’s Hollywood with a touch of 90’s grunge. At only 16, Chloe looks incredible dressed in looks by Diane Von Furstenberg, Chanel, Saint Laurent, and Isabel Marant.

Just imagine what an impact her black and white pictures would have made on the cover – I know not very Glamour, but come on for the September issue they could have so pulled it off.

I haven’t seen Chloe look this good before in editorials, it is a little mature possible for age, but I think that’s why it works so well and she looks absolutely flawless. I can see many luxury brands considering her as a future face – especially beauty and fragrance brands.

What do you think of Chloe Moretz glamorous editorial? Do you think that Glamour should have taken a chance and placed her on the September issue cover?chloe-moretz-glamour-sept chloe-moretz-glamour-sept-1 chloe-moretz-glamour-sept-3 chloe-moretz-glamour-sept- chloe-moretz-glamour-us-sep chloe-moretz-glamour-sept-2[Pics: Patrick Demarchelier/Glamour via thefashionspot.com]

Cover Loving: Anne Hathaway Has Fun With Glamour US

When I first saw this cover of Anne Hathaway on the January issue of Glamour US I have to be honest I was stunned – I love her movies, her red carpet looks, but never have I seen her look so happy, young and even sexy – for me this a great cover.

Shot by Alexel Hay, I love the styling and direction of this shoot, not only does Anne look like she is having so much fun but she also looks incredible. I love the combination of the $50 Monrow charity vest in aid of One Billion Rising, a good cause highlighting rape and violence against women, teamed with the sexy Clover Canyon embroidered briefs and very cool Skullcandy headphones – she looks hot!

I am also pleased that Anne has grown into her pixie cut, her hair looks cute in these pictures, and oh my that yellow Alexander McQueen gown in the editorial is simply divine.

I am sure that some will feel this is a cheesy cover, but come on peeps it is for Glamour, but I have to be honest I really do love it.

What do you think of Anne showing off her fun side?

Cover Loving: Victoria Beckham For Glamour US

Well the September issues keep on flooding in and one of the most anticipated covers for me was seeing Victoria Beckham for Glamour US. Not content with just being the cover star, the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer also guest-edited the magazine’s “Full-On Fashion” issue alongside Cindi Leive.

I get VB as guest editor for a fashion issue, what I don’t get is why they went for such a playful cover. I am not saying I dislike I actually love seeing the goofy side of Victoria and come on only she could work a bubble bath and a Stephen Russell tiara, but surely with the tagline “Full-On Fashion” a full-on fashionable cover was needed.

I’m often asked, if I weren’t designing, what other job I would love to do. Once upon a time I would have said I’d be a ballet dancer—I trained as one for years! But if not dancing, I’d be a fashion editor – Victoria Beckham.

The cover and the accompanying editorial made a little more sense once I had watched the behind the scenes video, see below, as the concept was all about being a glamorous soccer mom. So we see Victoria Beckham drinking a milkshake wearing a skimpy pair of knickers and an orange lace top by Lover, playing on a swing in a gorgeous Monique Lhuillier skirt, and showing her best editor pose in some geeky specs **which are apparently Victoria Beckham Opticals – LOVE** and of course wearing a dress from her own collection.

OK, so I am not blown away by the cover, but the editorial is fun and I can’t wait to read the interview as Victoria talked to Glamour about her famous pout, her marriage, where she sees herself in five years, and why she’d never say never to having another baby.

On guest editing the September issue: “It’s been exciting for me to see my ideas come to life, from type colors to photo selection to casting. I even made my own list of Glamour fashion Don’ts to keep out of the issue: boat shoes (unless of course you’re designer Alber Elbaz or on a boat!), Bermuda shorts, nose rings, Crocs, and American tan tights (that’s nude pantyhose to you).”

On her husband, David Beckham, coming to see her fashion show in New York this past season: “It was the first time! He’s always been working or training. But I was nervous about this show. I was feeling a lot of pressure. He phoned me the night before, and I just said, ‘I want you to come be with me. I want a cuddle. I really do.’ And it was great to have him there. I think he was surprised; I don’t usually bother him with much detail. And then you get there, and the models, the hair, the makeup…I think he was blown away!”

For more information on the shoot and to read Victoria’s editor note head on over to Glamour.com, and check out the behind-the-scenes below – I don’t know about you but I can’t wait for the magazine to hit the newsstands on August 7.
