I’ve spoken about my hunt for the perfect grey winter coat previously, as this year I’m trying to just invest in classic pieces rather than trends, I had all but given up hope when I spied this beauty in the Gap sale, only one left, in my size, was down from £99.99 to £39.99 with another 40 percent off, so for £23.99 I picked up the best bargain I have found in a while, and I’m in love with it.
Weekends are precious, I love spending time with my fiancé as well as my close friends, and I love it even more when it is filled with gorgeous sunshine, great food and lots of laughs. Last weekend we went to visit Jim & Sarah, two of our closest friends, to celebrate Jim’s birthday as well as get giddy about the wedding as they are both coming with us to New York and with less than 100 days to go I am pretty excited.
I always love going down to see them both in Chichester, it is always fun and relaxing, and this weekend was made even more perfect with a visit to Goodwood. Not only can you watch planes taking off and cars whizzing around the track, but you can also enjoy them both while eating brunch at the Aero Club Café. The sunshine didn’t hurt either, I think I could have sat outside watching all the planes taking off, landing and doing tricks all day. I really do love discovering secret brunch spots and I can’t wait to go back.
After brunch we wandered around the rest of Goodwood, checking out the motor circuit, watching some drifting, and I couldn’t help but snap away at the lovely retro touches around the grounds including the racing green telephone box and vintage cars. It also made the perfect spot to showcase my new maxi dress from Gap, which is not only flattering but super comfortable. I bought this beauty for my honeymoon but I couldn’t resist giving it a test drive as we are having such glorious weather at the moment.
I have trouble finding flattering maxi dresses, they are either sack-like or too tight, what I love about this Gap beauty is that the elasticised waist creates a blousy top look that really does nip in the silhouette of the dress. Plus I also love anything that I can just throw on, will work with flats, heels and trainers, and is comfortable to wander around in the sunshine.
Have you discovered your perfect summer maxi dress?

What is your go-to festival look?
Mine would probably be skinny jeans/denim shorts, a vintage rock tee, a bold floral kimono, some wellies and a few statement pieces of jewellery that I would probably have picked up from Primark. For this season, with the weather being a little warmer, I thought I would channel my girlie side and opt for a fun and flirty dress, pops of colour, of course sensible but cool footwear, and a statement headpiece, well it wouldn’t be a festival without wearing something silly now would it.
What I love about this look, other than how happy this tropical print shirtdress makes me from Gap, even when it starts to rain, has to be how comfortable I am not wearing wellington boots. I have a problem with not being able to find wellies that fit me well, they are always too big around the ankle, I seem to not be able to walk properly and they make my feet ache, maybe it is because I haven’t invested in quality, but I was so pleased to try out Sorel’s Slimshortie style. They are kind of part cowboy, part biker, with their full-grain waterproof leather they can take on any challenges of a festival, plus they will look great in winter as well.
To tie my boots into my look I added a tan belt, which really nips in this cute dress, and then to add a summer pop I went for this fun pompom headpiece from Asos, which is currently in the sale so snap it up quick, I just thought it looked perfect with my new specs from Kite, the yellow Shore Projects watch and my Rebecca Minkoff bag.
What do you think – would you wear this to a festival? Also have you tried out Sorel’s Slimshortie boots?

As you know by now I love a statement knit, whether it is a flash of neon pink or yellow, or a wolf or tiger, I love how you can dress them up and down, and at the weekend I took my Nowhere Lobster knit from Nelly.com that I picked up at the The Apartment LFW Dress Up event out for a test run.
With my Mum down for the weekend we decided to do touristy things around London, things we hadn’t done in years or never done before, and on Friday we hit one of my favourite places the National Gallery. I love this place for many reasons – the architecture is just exquisite, each time I visit I dream of one day having a gorgeous mosaic floor, and I can’t get enough of the Claude-Oscar Monet, John Constable and Joseph Turner paintings.
As it was a day of walking, relaxing, and having fun, but gloomy and grey, I opted for comfort, warmth as well as style with my new favourite jeans, my sexy boyfriend jeans that I picked up from Gap for London Fashion Week. Since I got such lovely comments at fashion week over my style posts I thought I would keep on working these beauties and I just love how comfortable they are but also how versatile they are that they can be smart as well as casual.
This look is kind of in-between smart and casual, kind of dressed up with the coat, but once off it has the dressed-down feel of a tourist day out that I was after. I just love the moody burgundy colour of the lobster knit against the black and grey coat and the denim.
My Style: Sexy Boyfriend Jeans, Gap // Dorothy Perkins coat, bought in the sale // Nowhere Lobster jumper c/o Nelly.com // Glasses, Karen Millen (c/o Specsavers) // Bangles – New Look, Forever 21 and Topshop // Ankle boots, Topshop // Grey socks, Topshop //
