Gucci Premiere Launch: Blake Lively Shimmers In Gucci

Who: Blake Lively, the face of Gucci’s new fragrance Gucci Premiere

Where: At the unveiling of the Director’s Cut of the Gucci Premiere film held at the Hotel Cipriani during the 2012 Venice International Film Festival

Wearing: A one-of-a-kind burgundy sleeveless deep v-neck, fully embroidered Gucci cocktail dress featuring raised flower detailing around the neckline, teamed with burgundy python Gucci Kinga Spike high heels, and pink gold and black diamond bracelet and ring finished off her look

Verdict: Well it was a given that Blake would wear Gucci, but what did surprise me was the colour, I love this deep wine shade on her, and I was expecting a gown that skimmed the floor, but I suppose considering she made her entrance on a boat it is hardly surprising that she chose to go short.

Blake looked absolutely incredible, everything from the shade to the high-glitz of the fully embroidered overlapping palettes, to her flawless make-up and messy updo, I love this look from head-to-toe. It may not have been what I was expecting but I love that it wasn’t girlie, this cocktail dress is edgy and it suits her.

I also had to include the picture of Blake with Frida Giannini, as I just adore Frida’s grey silk crepe Gucci cocktail dress with Art Deco-inspired beaded – the silhouette is divine.

What do you think of Blake’s look? Was you expecting something different?

Check out the Nicolas Winding Refn’s director’s cut of the Gucci Premiere film below – I loved the commercial version but this is just exquisite, I especially like the soundtrack.

Fiat Loving: Gucci Hits The Road

You often see the nippy Fiat 500 whizzing around town, I have to admit I was quite obsessed with the Fiat 500 Pink, which I am sure was styled on Barbie; and it seems that because of the success of that special edition that the car brand has teamed up with Italian fashion house Gucci.

I know what you are thinking, yes you can now accessory your Gucci shoes and handbag with the most fashionable car on the road, the 500byGucci. This cool collaboration came about to celebrate both Gucci’s 90th anniversary and the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy and what a beauty it is!!!

The 500byGucci, has been customised by the stylish Frida Giannini, Gucci’s Creative Director, and comes in black and white colours. I think my favourite has to be the black, I love the eye-catching glossy pearl bodywork with detailing in shiny chrome, and inside it has a contrasting sharp black and white feel for a contemporary and sexy feel. For a small car it really does have the wow factor.

“The 500byGucci will enlarge the audience for the already successful Fiat 500, reaching those fashionista customers who want to have a unique car to distinguish themselves,” says Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK.

Like any fashion accessory worth having it is initially an online exclusive this summer, with prices starting at £14,565 OTR, to find out more or to order visit www.fiat.co.uk/500bygucci.

UNICEF Luncheon: Jennifer Lopez in Colour-Blocking Gucci

Who: Jennifer Lopez presenting Frida Giannini with her first UNICEF Women of Compassion award

Where: At the annual UNICEF Women of Compassion Luncheon in Los Angeles

Wearing: Jennifer Lopez is wearing head-to-toe Gucci from its spring/summer 2011 collection

Verdict: This SS11 collection really is getting some love, from the covers – both ELLE and Paris Vogue have taken complete runway looks, and celebrities are flocking over the line, with Olivia Wilde working it to the brand’s Paris party recently. But seriously this doesn’t make it look any less special, I loved this collection went it walked the catwalk, and I am loving that celebrities and stylists are completely crushing over it as well.

Jennifer looks amazing, this stint on American Idol really has pushed her back into the limelight and I am loving it. This outfit with its plunging neckline, and cut-out detailing really needs a little attitiude that J-Lo is oozing in this picture. Completely stunning touch having her hair cut, and I love the billowing sleeves – gorgeous from head-to-toe!!

Also how adorable is Frida in her little black dress – tres chic!

Haute Couture: Stars Hit Paris For Gucci Party

This week of course it was Haute Couture time in Paris, and Gucci held a party to celebrate the re-opening of its Rue Royale flagship, as well as a special send off to French Vogue’s soon-to-be departed EiC Carine Roitfeld with an intimate dinner held at the Italian Embassy.

Of course Gucci always attracts the most stylish of celebrities, and this party in Paris was no different, with the likes of Diane Kruger, Jessica Alba, Olivia Wilde and Charlotte Casiraghi looking chic and fabulous in the name of the Italian brand.

I have already gushed about Diane Kruger, but she really does look amazing in a backless Gucci silk organza dress, pictured above with the gorgeous Jessica Alba wearing a one-of-a-kind Gucci embroidered sheath. I wish I had more pics of Jessica as from the other angle you would be able to see the draping detailing which I adore!

But even from these images you can see the amazing embroidered degradé of beads and crystals – she really does sparkle.

While Diane and Olivia looked edgy, I love that Jessica looked radiant in a gorgeous cocktail dress, it just shows how amazing Gucci is, that such varied looks totally belong together.

I really am loving Oliva Wilde at the moment, and this look just reinforces it. Opting for a sleek black and jade silk jumpsuit from Gucci’s spring collection, she really does pull off this bold colour option so well. I love the blue sash teamed with her electric blue clutch finished off nicely with a chunky gold necklace.

It is a hard choice on best dressed – but I think Olivia just pips Diane – just!!

Black certainly was a popular colour, with Charlotte Casiraghi going for a modern and regal look in a matte jersey jumpsuit from Gucci’s spring collection, and both Frida Giannini and French Vogue Editor-in-Chief Carine Roitfeld opting for the classsic shade.

How hot does Frida look in her slim cut velvet tuxedo – LOVE!!

Looks one hell of a party!!

Bag Loving: Gucci 1973 Timeless Collection

Pic: Gucci

I have an attraction to pretty bags and I am in love with this Gucci timeless collection. Frida Giannini has sourced inspiration from the Gucci archives dating back to 1973 for this collection of gorgeous handbags.

These elegant shoulder bags (above & below), come with either a standard or chain strap,  in a boxy and and rectangular shape, with a front flap sporting the GG monogram in polished brash with antique finish. This symbol has become the signature detail of this exclusive collection. Both styles are great day bags – I think I prefer the chain strap.

One of my favourites has to be this envelope clutch (below) with its soft versatile lines, simple yet elegant – the best qualities in a clutch as you don’t want it to over-power your outfit. Also looks a great size as you’d fit all the important things in it, blackberry, key, purse, lippy and compact. Yours for £510.

But the one piece I would be more likely to invest in has to be this travel tote, I’m always dazzled by big bags as I like to carry my life around with me. This medium top handle number is £1,370.

Cannes: Gucci Taking Over Film Festival

We’ve seen Salma Hayek grace the red carpet in the first Gucci Première couture frock this Cannes film festival and it seems that Gucci have taken over the French riviera. This weekend Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini and Vanity Fair Editor Graydon Carter co-hosted the Vanity Fair/Gucci party. The intimate dinner at the Hotel du Cap was to celebrate Martin Scorsese and the 20 year anniversary of The Film Foundation.

Who: Singer/actress Jennifer Lopez  (with Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini)

Wearing: A one of a kind grey moraccain silk one shoulder Gucci cocktail dress, with pleated organza and georgette ruffle detail on the shoulder and a grey satin clutch with jewel detail

Verdict: I love this colour on J-Lo and I am glad that the big hair is back. But for me what makes this frock is the ruffles on the shoulder – love!!

Pic: Venturelli/VF1

Who: Naomi Watts

Wearing: A Gucci Fall Winter 2010/11 black sequined dress with back cut out detail

Verdict: I love this flirty cocktail dress and it is nice to see Naomi wearing something fun – also I am a sucker for a red carpet frock with an open back!

Cannes: The First Gucci Couture Gown

Who: Salma Hayek

Where: The premiere of Robin Hood at the 63rd Annual Cannes Film Festival

Wearing: The very first couture gown from Gucci Première collection designed by Creative Director Frida Giannini!! Salma wore a floor length Bordeaux silk georgette one-shoulder gown, with exquisite draped detailing to the hip, back and shoulder. To finish off her look she wore Gucci black satin peep toe heels and Gucci clutch.

Verdict: I love this frock, the deep red crystal embroidery on the shoulder and waist really suit her sultry personality. If this is the first couture frock from Frida I can’t wait to see more as this is one of my favourite dresses from last night at Cannes.
