Wearing: A black and gold printed Alexander McQueen gown with cut-out panelling to her midriff and an open back from the Resort 2013 collection, teamed with a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch

Verdict: I am loving Freida lately, it all started with Cannes this year where she was a little more sexy and daring with her red carpet choices, and once again I love the choice of this Alexander McQueen gown. I love the colour combination of the gold print on the black, the midriff-baring panel just shows off her incredible figure, and I love the train at the back.

Overall, for me this look is edgy and different, I am sure some won’t like the print, I love that the print gets bigger towards the floor it is like an optical illusion. I would however loved her to wear some more jewellery, I get that the gala was for the watch, but a gold cuff, drop earrings would have complemented this look well.

Resort 2013: Freida, Leighton & Hilary Dazzle At Salvatore Ferragamo

Last week fashion label Salvatore Ferragamo became the first Italian fashion house to stage a runway presentation at the Louvre museum, and they had a star-studded front row for the occasion with Freida Pinto, Leighton Meester and Hilary Swank.

Fresh from wearing Salvatore Ferragamo in Cannes, Freida Pinto continues to surprise me, I absolutely love her look for the presentation. Wearing an all-black ensemble from the label’s autumn/winter 2012 collection, I love the sheer sleeves on this embroidered dress as well as the added drama in its velvet neckline. This is a chic look that works perfectly with just a pop of colour to her lips and nails.

Gossip Girls actress Leighton Meester looked stunning in a rich red off-the-shoulder peasant blouse, teamed with an embellished pencil skirt, all from the Salvatore Ferragamo autumn/winter 2012 collection. One thing I am not too sure about with this look has to be whether Leighton can pull off such a rich hue – what do you think?

I am not sure why buy Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank isn’t really on my radar red carpet wise and I have to be honest after seeing her in this black chiffon dress with gold lace detailing, also from the designer’s autumn/winter 2012 collection, I am seriously questioning why as she looks divine!!!

This rivals Freida for top spot for me, who would have thought I would put Leighton in last spot, but on this occasion she was out-done. Hilary’s look was glamorous, chic and completely flawless I adore the simple ponytail, and most of all those black strappy Ferragamo heels are insane, love them!!!

The Resort 2013 collection itself, out of the 43 looks there was only one black ensemble the rest were either white, tan, or various shades of nude. It had an ethereal vibe to it with the colour palette, where as the clothing weren’t flowing and sheer – they were more glitzy and embellished, with some dresses constructed from panels laced together with leather cords or in crocheted pieces finished with fringe.

One thing that definitely came across with this collection was the craftsmanship of the Italian label, every piece looked exquisite and detailed, and I can see a number of celebrities working these dresses in the near future.

What I love about Cannes is that it always brings out the best in actresses for their red carpet appearances and this is most true so far for Freida Pinto. I have to admit I haven’t always been her biggest fan, yep I am probably the only one in the world not to have seen Slumdog Millionnaire, but her three looks so far at Cannes have been impressive, either she has a new stylist or I just haven’t been looking at her enough!!!

First up for the opening ceremony, Frieda choose a very different, I am some people won’t like it, but I just adore this gorgeous Michael Angel gown. The whole mix of the pastel pink, the peplum, and the exquisite embellishments of that multi-coloured crystallized bodice is just insane. There is a real sexiness about this dress that I haven’t seen from her before and I love it. I am also really loving her accessories – check out those Louis Vuitton heels and that lizard minaudiere embroidered with sequins – HOT!!!

From the red carpet at the premiere Freida decided to work a black Versace gown to the Opening Night Dinner, again working a thigh-high split, is this her new thing??? I love all the sequins and the sexy sheer neckline, but I am not sure about the long-sleeves, but her Barbie pink lips most certainly gets my vote.

But my favourite out of the three looks has to be the divine lime green Atelier Versace from the spring/summer 2012 collection, seriously sexy and she really did shine at the premiere of De Rouille et D’os. I just love the combination of the lace, the Swarovski crystal embellished skirt, the thigh-high split, and the double gold-lined sculptured detail on the hip looks divine on her.

I can’t be the only one that has been surprised by Freida at Cannes can I??? I really think she is working her assists with a new stylist pushing for sexy, and in true Angelina Jolie style she is working those thigh-high splits to perfection.

Wearing: A strapless fuschia silk crepe column Marchesa gown with an embroidered sweetheart bodice

Verdict: Wow that bodice is amazing, and perfect for Freida fusing Bollywood colours with a great column sihouette for her tiny petite. The only thing I am not sure about is her hair – it looks a little bit flat to me.
