Wearing: A red silk Valentino dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection with lace detailing and a curved shaped hemline, teamed with a gold Lanvin box clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and matching red satin Roger Vivier heels

Verdict: At the Golden Globes I loved her velvet Jason Wu because it was a little different, and even though red is Valentino’s signature style, this dress had a different edge to it with the lace detailing, the curved hem and the gathering to the side. It looks amazing on her and I am so glad that she paired the dress with matching coloured heels as the combination together looks stunning.

Wearing: A dark green sequinned and feather-embellished halterneck Gucci Premiere gown with a plunging neckline and open back, teamed with a gold bangle, diamond stud earrings and a snake ring, all by Fred Leighton

Verdict: Evan was one of the stars that I was most excited to see walk the red carpet and she certainly didn’t disappoint me – this is one show-stopping number, that kind of reminded me of a mermaid, and I love it!!!!

I kind of want to know how long it took to make this exquisitely crafted dress – as I am sure that all the sequins, paillettes and feathers were sewn on by hand – just extraordinary and flawless. A complete vision from the sheer deep V neckline with sequin overlay to the gorgeous feathers that completed her skirt and train – I just adore everything about it.

I don’t think anyone else could have pulled off this look better – she just looks incredible – just enough attitude to really work it. This is without a doubt one of my best dressed of the night.

Wearing: A red Giles Deacon gown with laser-cut swans on the bodice and tiered skirt from the spring/summer 2012 collection, paired with Fred Leighton earrings, bracelets and a ring

Verdict: Dianna described the swans as “incredible details” and I quite agree. I know that for some critics this dress has too much going on but that’s why I like it, Giles is all about the exquisite detailing and this is one beautiful gown. I also like that she went for someone that isn’t an obvious red carpet choice – she certainly stands out and I hope more starlets follow suit and work different designers at events like this.

Wearing: An amethyst coloured burn-out velvet Jason Wu column gown with three-quarter sleeves, accessorised with a Judith Leiber clutch, and a vintage Fred Leighton headband

Verdict: I am sure this look could go either way for Michelle, for me I love this velvet gown it has something a little different to it, but I am sure for a lot this will just be so far from a traditional awards gown that it will make its way onto worst dressed lists. As well as the colour being perfect, the dress itself looks incredible on her, but what makes it for me is that touch of Twenties class with the vintage headband. Out of all the headbands that rocked the red carpet from Charlize Theron to Busy Phillips I think Michelle’s works the best.

Wearing: A red strapless figure-hugging Zac Posen mermaid gown with sweet-heart neckline detail from the pre-fall 2012 collection, paired with 9ct diamond Fred Leighton earrings and an armful of antique bracelets

Verdict: Wow, this dress shows off some serious curves, and kind of reminds me of a Valentine’s Day Barbie doll. I think this a very sexy gown on her and I love that she paired it with beach hair, the loose waves really gives the look something a little different. The only thing though I kind of get the feeling the dress is a little long for her, or that her heels needed to be higher as the mermaid train just slumps a little on the floor. But overall this is one racy look for Reese.

Wearing: A light grey figure-hugging Versace gown with metallic embellishments from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with Manolo Blahnik heels, a gold Roger Vivier clutch, and Fred Leighton diamond drop earrings

Verdict: Not as much as a show stopper as Angie’s but wow does Nicole look gorgeous in this studded gown, which might I add isn’t part of the H&M collection that some people are saying on Twitter, similar not the same!!! But this is one of the gowns that I actually thought one of the young up-and-coming starlets would wear as it has a edgy vibe to it, however, seeing it on Nicole it looks like it was made for her as it works her slender frame perfectly.

Also can I  point out that Nicole is 44-years-old – seriously does she not age!!!

Wearing: A full length Jenny Packham gown featuring a black hammer silk satin bodice, ivory silk crepe skirt and a ribbon embellished with Swarovski crystals, teamed with a black and gold box clutch and Fred Leighton 1940s citrine jewellery

Verdict: This two-tone dress is just OK, I don’t dislike it, quite the opposite I quite like it, I just don’t love it – if you know what I mean. I love the key-hole detailing, the split sleeves and the embellished waist band – but I just feel that it isn’t quite glitzy enough for the awards – maybe is because I am always expecting sparkles with Jenny Packham’s designs. But given all that this dress has a simple-yet-elegant vibe about it that Kate works so well.
