Shopping: Yeah The Kat Maconie Collection For Dune Is Finally Out

Back in March I shared the fab Kat Maconie collaboration for Dune, well nearly two months later they have finally hit the store, and with a weekend of sun under my belt I think I am going to need to invest in a pair of these flats.

I love the block heels, especially the ones with the Art Deco fan detailing, but these flats will see you through summer and will go with everything especially if you go for the black or the gold. What I love about these Soho Beach t-bar sandals has to be the combination of the adorable low block gold heel and the gold stud embellishments – seriously hot.

I really do think for £135, these glam flats will be the perfect day-to-night flats and in terms of a pay-per-wear ratio I really do think you will easily make your money back on them!!!

Now all I need to decide is black, hot pink or gold???

AW11 Press Day: Sorel Will Keep Me Warm

Things I love: being warm and shaggy boots!! Which means Sorel is like shopping porn!

I know with the sun shining it is hard to see why I am getting excited, but come winter you are going to love that I introduced you to this amazing brand. First up, the brand is Canadian, so come on if you need a nation who know about cold surely it is them, and what I didn’t know is that they launched back in 1962, which means they’ve been keeping feet warm for nearly 50 years!

For autumn/winter 2011, my favourite *top pic* has to be the Tofino, I love how Sorel combines keeping warm with style and rugged beauty, and these red ones are gorgeous. I can see myself wearing these in the snow for après-ski as well as with jeans and a parka, they have so much potential.

I also love the cool names that some of the boots have as well; you can wear ‘Joan of Arctic’, a modern classic; or how about ‘Cate the Great’, named after a Russian Empress and inspired by a pair of Creewinter moccasins – LOVE!!!!

Need more reasons to love Sorel? Did I mention that they have been seen keeping celebs Elle Macpherson, Gwen Stefani and Kate Hudson warm. Seriously cool brand.

Where to buy you ask?? Well head on down to Schuh, Office, or Sole Trader.

Which are you favourites?

Crush Of The Day: Ash Easy Low Top Trainer

OK, I love glam shoes, but you really can’t beat a comfie sneakers and I have found these beauties over at the new Ash online store.

These canvas trainers come in three colours, my favourite is the Chinablue above, but they also come in black and white. They will look perfect with jeans, a white summery dress or denim shorts – you will get serious use out of these gorgeous pumps, and not a bad price either at £55.

Trust me though you have to check out this site, from gorgeous studded boots, gladiator sandals, chunky clogs and wedges, Ash really does have a great collection.

I also love the amazing kids high-top range, I seriously want these buckled tie-dye ones to be available in an adult size!!!

Plastic: Barbie Is Model Perfect For Melissa

I love it when brands do something creative, and I am an avid fan of Brazilian brand Melissa shoes magazine, Plastic. Each issue always has gorgeous editorial spreads, which make me swoon, last issue it was all about Dita Von Teese, and this time around Katy Perry graces the cover but I am afraid that Barbie up-staged her with this glamorous photoshoot.

Barbie looks a doll in her designer wear, teaming her gorgeous gowns with tiny plastic shoes from the Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier collaborations. I am not sure if they are just for the shoot, but seriously these would fit nicely alongside Christian Louboutin’s shoe packs, Barbie is a very lucky girl.

I have to stress that all the pages in the mag are just as gorgeous, especially Katy Perry’s shoot – check it out Issue 4 here.

This Week: EMU Australia Opens First UK Pop-up Shop

Pic: EMU Australia - Naloo boots

I have openly blogged about the joys of EMU Australia, as a recent convert *I have a number of UGG Australia boots* I was exstatic to hear that the premium sheepskin brand is to open its first UK pop-up store this week. If like some of my friends you have been put off EMU due to it not having its stores on the high-street, and like me you have a touchy feely approach to shopping, then you’ll be just as excited as me that come January 5, for three-months the brand will have a temporary base in Holborn, London.

EMU will be taking over its UK PR company, Cube PR, selling women’s and men’s footwear, as well as its gorgeous line of apparel and accessories *I really want some ear muffs*. Recently both Fearne Cotton and Alexa Chung were spotted in the stunning *and extremely warm* Kallaroo jacket (below) in chocolate, and I love their range of biker jackets – the leather is so soft!

Still need convincing on the quality that is EMU? Well then you will have to check it out for yourself – let me know what you pick up as I am sure you won’t be able to leave the shop empty handed!!

EMU Australia pop-up @ Cube PR, 47 Lambs Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3NG. Open from January 5: and will be open Monday to Fridays 10am – 6pm and Saturdays 11am – 7pm.

SS11 Press Day: Rebecca Minkoff Bags and Footwear Galore

Pic: Rebecca Minkoff

As you all know I am a huge fan of handbags, I drive my other-half insane finding the perfect one, so the opportunity to check out the SS11 collection of Rebecca Minkoff while she was in London this week, was too good an opportunity to miss. And what a treat it was.

The preview took place in a suite at the swanky Sanderson Hotel, I was already giddy before I got to the room after taking the lift, which was a spectacular stargazing scene, with the twinkling of the stars and the planets coming at you – truly amazing.

First up, Rebecca was so sweet, gorgeous and has an infectious warmth about her, which draws you into her collection. Secondly, her handbag collection for spring/summer 2011 is amazing, there is something for everyone and I like the fact that the classic shapes that I love were still present – just updated.

Rebecca Minkoff has a lot of celebrity followers, and it was interesting to find out that apparently Agyness Deyn has over 100 bags *so very, very jealous*, but I think it is her laid-back California style which makes her handbags and clothes so appealing.

Spring/Summer 2011

The line inspired by the seduction of Bianca Jagger and rocker Janis Joplin, Rebecca Minkoff has created a ’70s-esque femme vagabond, with reconstructed vintage and ’70s-inspired frocks. As with all her previous collections, texture was present throughout in the hardware on the handbags and clothes; with fine chains, small studds, fringing, sequins, zips, circular silver buttons, as well as perforations and laser-cut detailing to the leather.

There was a great balance to the collection between the delicate and statement that Rebecca does so well. Some of the shapes that I love, like her first ever handbag, and IT bag, the Morning After Bag available again but in different colours, alongside satchels, clutches, draw-string bags, rucksacks, envelope handbags, as well as looking to the fashion-forward women with iPad, laptop and iPhone cases.

Check out more of the SS11 collection at Rebecca’s blog the Minkette here.

Debut Footwear Collection

Pic: Rebecca Minkoff

New this season for Rebecca Minkoff is a gorgeous line of footwear featuring 20 styles, in a variety of silhouettes including booties, platform heels, flats and wedge sandals. I loved the fact the collection featured lots of variety in colours, styles and most importantly for me textures. From the buttery leather booties which will go with everything to the sparkly platform heels (below) that will jazz up any outfit *I’ve added the black and silver ones to my wish list*, to the amazing wedges with the leopard-print heels.

My favourites have to be these nude and black perforated leather platform heels with triangle detailing aka The Vixen (below), they look gorgeous on, and have a padded insole which means they are sure to be very comfortable. I am sure that we will start to see lots of celebs wearing these to red carpet events in the near future.

The prices aren’t too unaffordable either as they start at £170. I promise that when they come on sale next year that you won’t be disappointed – gorgeous, comfortable and classic.

Special Treat

Pic: My new prized possession

My very memorable visit, had a fairytale ending, as Rebecca Minkoff kindly gifted me one of her handbags. I just couldn’t believe it, so generous of her. So there I was greeted with a double bed filled with different handbags of various shapes, colours and styles – it was like the perfect candy store for me.

It was lovely to have Rebecca there to help me decided which one, as I was having trouble deciding between a raspberry large tote and a cobalt blue Mini Morning After Bag, both gorgeous and completely me. But of course, my heart went for the classic Mini MAG – mainly because of the blue and black spotty lining- it is amazing. It also has a handy Blackberry sized pocket, a key fob and lots of tassles and zips. I was also swayed by the fact that Rebecca said that I would love it more and more when the leather ages. I can’t wait.

It has always been a wish of mine to add a Rebecca Minkoff to my handbag collection and now that I have it will take pride and place. Thanks again Rebecca for a wonderful preview and of course my gorgeous handbag. I so hope that I can make it to New York next fashion week to take in her presentation.

Nine West AW10: Vintage Elegance

Last week I attended Nine West’s AW2010 press day at Home House – a great setting for a collection all about opulence and elegance. I do love footwear previews as the styling is always so stylish and this one was no different set up as an elegant banquet with the shoes the main appetiser displayed on vintage china.

There to showcase the Victorian-inspired collection was Nine West’s Creative Director Fred Allard who is currently on his world tour, first NY, then London, with the next stop Hong Kong.

The boots as always really stood out with this collection, featuring great variety of textures from leather, suede, shearling and beading. Teamed with sophisticated fasteners – including ski clasps, buckles, zips and one of my favourite (below) books with these military inspired clasps.

There was also a sophisticated palette of colours, from rich reds, purples and greys. I know summer hasn’t even begun – but with this collection of boots I am already dreaming of autumn.
