I am not sure what my fascination is with the Kardashian-Jenner-Odom-Disick Klan, but I have to admit I do look forward to seeing their Christmas card, mainly because they really do go all out. This year the family decided to work monochrome and bow ties in a very chic-yet-moody masculine vibe, with one except and that of course had to be Kris who stands in the centre in her gorgeous teal Dolce & Gabbana dress.
Styled by Monica Rose for the third year running, the theme was ‘a bit girl meets boy’ and I kind of like it. Bow ties are always very chic, and I do think women in tuxedos looks hot, and even the men of the family look amazing, including a very confident looking Rob in his Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo.
The stand outs for me of course have to be Kim in that gorgeous sequinned Rachel Zoe blazer, teamed with wide-leg Chloe trousers and a Jill Pineda black faux leather bow tie. With Kim standing alone it does make me wonder if they had to photoshoot poor Kris Humpries out!!!!
Kylie and Kendall also worked it!!! I love that even though there was a masculine theme, and only Kris could work colour, Kendall the model of the family was able to wear that stunning Theyskens’ Theory gown – completely showed of her fab figure, while still maintaining the tuxedo feel. Her sister Kylie looks gorgeous in a Paula Ka tuxedo, my fav look of the girls in tuxs – using black ribbon as her bow tie is just genius!!! What this card and their looks really showed to me is that 2012 is going to be all about the Jenner sisters!!
Not to be out-done by sister Kim, Khloe also rocked a sequinned tuxedo jacket this time by Dolce & Gabbana – I think her pants win though as I do love Lanvin tuxedo trousers. Sad though as Khloe is the only one not working a bow tie – a sequinned beauty to match her jacket would have looked amazing.
But with every family portrait there is always one trying too hard and this year it has to be Kourtney – what was she thinking with those sheer socks??? It is a shame really as if she had worked that gorgeous Nikki Rich bolero, Muubaa leather skirt and Dolce & Gabbana bow tie with some sparkly Miu Miu heels – and ditched the belt, her look may have been one of the best. However, it seems she has been up-staged by a very moody Mason.
As much as I like this card, I do wonder why they are all looking so glum on a Christmas card – and seriously what the hell are they all staring at???!!!???
Oh and I nearly forgot this year’s Christmas card shot by Nick Saglimbeni doesn’t just come in 2D, nope the card what also snapped in 3D and sent out with special 3D glasses – how will they out-do that next year?
