Who: Chinese actress Fan Bingbing
Where: At the “Jeune & Jolie” premiere during the 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival at Grand Theatre Lumiere
Wearing: A yellow Elie Saab Haute Couture gown featuring a beaded bodice and full skirt from the spring 2012 collection, teamed with a metallic box clutch and Chopard jewels
Verdict: This is what Cannes is all about, gorgeous, gorgeous gowns and you don’t get much better than Elie Saab Haute Couture.
I do love summery colours on the red carpet and this yellow gown looks amazing on Fan Bingbing, I have to be honest I love everything about the look from the embellished bodice to the skinny bow belt to the textured skirt – it really is a Princess gown.
If the dress wasn’t dreamy enough then Fan finishes off her look with the most exquisite jewellery, check out those heart shaped Chopard diamond earrings, an elegant braided up-do and striking orange lips – she really is stunning.
I really do love that Fan really goes for it when she hits the red carpet, I really think more Hollywood starlets should take notes!!!
Do you love Fan’s summery Elie Saab gown as much as I do?

Who: Chinese actress Fan Bingbing
Where: At the Opening Night of The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival for the Great Gatsby Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Theatre Lumiere
Wearing: A duchess satin strapless Louis Vuitton gown with a sequinned bodice, finishing off her look with a Louis Vuitton minaudière and Chopard jewellery
Verdict: What I love about Cannes is the drama of the red carpet, the gowns are always that much bigger, luxurious, and generally custom. For the past few years Fan Bingbing has really shined through with her incredible Asian-inspired gowns like last year when she looked like she was wearing a tapestry.
It is hard for any dress to top last year but this gorgeous rose pink one does a good job. I love the long train, the intricate detailing of the bodice, and it all works perfectly styled with a gold tasselled Louis Vuitton minaudière and her Chopard jewellery.

I have been gushing about Chinese actress Fan Bingbing for a while now, I get particularly excited to see her looks at the Cannes Film Festival and last week I was blown away by her two Louis Vuitton looks while helping the luxury brand celebrate its new flagship store opening in Shanghai.
For the flagship opening, Bingbing wore one of my favourite looks from the spring/summer 2012 collection, it was appropriately girlie, quirky and I have to be honest could only work off the runway on her. I love that she worked the pale aqua colour of the dress with that gorgeous green Louis Vuitton Speedy bag – such a great contrast.
From a playful look to a sexy all-black ensemble, Bingbing really looked incredible in a vampy look at the Louis Vuitton autumn/winter 2012 fashion show in Shanghai, where the luxury label reprised its train-themed catwalk show seen in Paris.
What is amazing about this autumn/winter 2012 look has to be how different it is from the girlie look she wore to the store opening, and that is what makes Bingbing so special – she really is a chameleon on the red carpet and can work nearly anything.
I think out of the two looks this vampy black high-waisted skirt and sheer blouse is my favourite and I think is all about her hair and make-up – her 1940s victory rolls and red lippy is divine. I am also loving her accessories – those black leather gloves, that Louis Vuitton Alma bag and peep-toe heels really finishes off this look nicely, add a photo opp with Peter Marino and it really does complete her vampy look!!!
Are you as memorised with Fan Bingbing as I am? I just love how she can do an elegant floor-length gown one minute to a quirky dress to a sexy number – she seems to do any look with ease. For me, she is nearly as stunning as Diane Kruger, the one thing I haven’t seen from her is off-duty looks – I wonder if they are as striking as her red carpet outfits?
Which Fan Bingbing look is your favourite?

Yesterday, Italian fashion house Versace opened Paris Haute Couture at the iconic Ritz Paris to showcase their autumn/winter 2012 Atelier Versace collection. Last season the label returned to the couture schedule with a presentation, which included some incredible gowns that we’ve already seen on the red carpet, but last night they opened Couture week in style with a catwalk show, if I do say so myself back to wear they belong!!!
I am going to be blogging more on the collection, I don’t want to tease but it was a gorgeous pastel display of utlra-sexy gowns that I am sure the front row celebrities including Jessica Alba, Lea Michele, Fan Bing Bing, Elizabeth Banks, and Christina Hendricks were picking out their next red carpet appearance looks from.
My favourite celebrity look had to be the Jessica Alba’s incredible strapless black leather Versace cocktail dress enriched by black swarowski crystals from the autumn/winter 2012 collection – how divine is this edgy dress and so unexpected from Jessica. I really think that Jessica should wear studs more often!!!
It was tough to choose my favourite look as I also adored Fan Bing Bing in her bright yellow Versace cocktail dress also from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, I love the silver chain-metal detailing to the front and side.
Also gracing the front row was a demure Lea Michele, who actually looked good in a bright orange Versace cocktail dress with grey leather inserts on the front, but what got me was how tiny she is next to Cory Monteith.
The OTT and totally Versace award has to go to M.I.A. who wore a vintage Gianni Versace printed outfit consisting of gold printed lycra leggings, a gold printed top and leather jacket.
Who gets your best dressed award?
Who: Chinese actress Fan Bing Bing
Where: Arriving at the Electrolux for the Opening Night of The 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals
Wearing: A strapless embroidered tapestry gown decorated with traditional Tang dynasty stories designed by her friend and stylist Chris Bu Kewen, teamed with an Elie Saab clutch and Chopard jewellery
Verdict: It was at Cannes a few years back that Fan Bing Bing made it onto my radar and it is because of stunning looks like this. Last year she also wore a Christopher Bu look featuring a white crane print that made me think that it had been inspired by a traditional robe, and this year’s has a porcelain vase quality about it.
I love that she shares her Chinese heritage on the red carpet, this look is divine and I love that she complimented her gorgeous gown with her hair pinned like a noble woman from the Tang dynasty, which is also represented on the gown.
It really does remind me of a piece of art, incredible detail, love the colouring of the gown, her hair is amazing, and her emerald Chopard jewellery really is perfection.
No one except Fan Bing Bing could have pulled off this dress for me – simply stunning – last year she was my overall best dressed from Cannes 2011 and I think she’ll be giving Diane Kruger a run for her money if her looks continue like this!!!
