OK, so not technically the same image, or even the same bodysuit, but after seeing the July Marie Claire cover (on the left) it just made me think instantly of the American edition’s March cover, and then a number of other Eva Mendes covers over the years.
We all have our favourite pose, and it seems that Eva’s go-to move is ruffling her hair with hands on hip action, and working her sexy lips. Don’t get me wrong it is a great pose and she looks incredible on both Marie Claire covers above, but it just shows it isn’t just fashion bloggers who re-hash the same pose, I’m a great believer or changing locations not pose!!!
I am finding it quite interesting that magazines are going for the same styling looks with the bodysuits this season, no different I suppose to that famous Miu Miu dress from last year, but is it just me or are more magazines sharing imagery?
On first glance I was excited about Marie Claire UK’s July issue as I love that Prada bodysuit, maybe even more than the Dolce & Gabbana suit she wears for the American issue, but while searching for images I noticed that for the second consecutive month the mag has re-issued a cover image from a sister mag. The June issue with Angelina Jolie was from America and this month’s steamy Eva Mendes shot was used for Russia’s May issue.
I know there is a huge debate at the moment regards print vs blogs, in my opinion I would hate to see magazines die, I love flicking through the pages of fashion magazines, I think it is because of my love of mags that I am so disappointed to see this latest re-issue more than seeing Eva work her go-to pose!!!
Does anyone else feel that British magazines should be more creative than this?
