Whooga: How Many Fleece- Lined Boots Does One Need?

Well, apparently eight!!! That is how many pairs of sheepskin-lined boots I own, it seems I am collecting every colour in the autumnal rainbow from sand to chestnut, grey, and brown, and even a pop of colour with my raspberry Wellington boots. It also seems that I am not fussy about the brand, just the softness of the lining, which all started with my first pair of UGG Australia boots – the classic short beige ones.

Since then I have added styles from Emu Australia, Shelly’s, New Look, and have even going furry with my wellies with Ewe, it seems I just can’t get enough of the sheepskin lining!!! So when Whooga Ugg Boots got in touch to review their boots I jumped at the chance. I have to admit doing this photoshoot did really highlight how often I wear these warm beauties, but to be honest when they make my feet so toasty I am going to keep working them.

What I have found is that there are a lot of choice in the ‘ugg’ boot market, which is the style of the boot not the brand, and I have found my new Whooga Ugg Boots are one of the most comfortable pairs I have ever worn, not only does it feel like they have the  thickest shearling out of all my styles, they are also a lot cheaper than their competition.

So back to my latest addition, chocolate brown classic tall Whooga ugg boots, I went for the tall ones as I do prefer the taller style as they are more versatile. I am wearing them here with my skinny jeans, but earlier in the week I wore with leggings and a sweater dress, and last weekend I wore with a denim skirt and jumper.

Whooga really does have  a great collection, with the all the classic styles covered – Classic Short, Classic Tall, Mini, and the knitted variety and they come in the classic neutral colours of sand, chestnut, black, brown, and grey, as well as some more on trend colours in pink, violet and metallics. But unlike its competitors prices start from £79, with my beauties costing just £89, that is a fraction of the price of my tall grey UGG Australia ones.

I know a lot of people refuse to work the Ugg boot – but if like me you want to stay warm these are perfect, I have to admit I won’t work mine into central London unless I am travelling, but if I am going in the car running errands then I want comfort and these boots are perfect for slipping on. I generally say not knock them until you’ve tried them!!!

So how many fleece-lined boots do you own?

Hot Picks: These Boots Are Made For Walking

I am a boot hoarder, I think when it comes to footwear I fall head over heels for boots more than any other style, so I thought it only right to share my love with everyone. I have put together my top eight boots that I am lusting over at the moment, quite a mixture of funky, practical and my favourites being super comfie!!

1. Mou Eskimo suede boots, £280, Net-a-Porter

I have recently been introduced to this amazing brand, full blog post to come soon I promise, and these anthracite suede boots will keep your warm this winter with their sheepskin lining. I also love the contrasting stitching. The most expensive of my picks but definitely worth the investment.

2. EMU Australia Illura boots, £250, EMU Australia

I have been an EMU Australia convert for many years now, what I love about this mid-calf style other than the gorgeous mushroom colour has to be the belt and sheepskin detailing, which allows the style to be worn up or folded down. As well as it being stylish, unlike other sheepskin boots EMU are water-resistant.

3. Dr Martens Aries boots, £200, Dr Marten

A re-working of the 1460 classic in a beautiful grey suede leather boot that is lined with wool shearling. I know, you get the edgy vibe of wearing Dr Martens, while still staying toasty warm. LOVE!!

4. Cheryl Cole for StylistPick T.L.C boots, £79.90, StylistPick

Just launched this week Chezza’s debut footwear collection is something special and one of my favourites has to be these slouchy ankle boots with faux sheepskin lining and a duffle toggle.

5. Red or Dead Celeste boots, £130, Schuh

One of my favourite features is Shop Her Style, so I thought only fitting to include a boot that has recently been picked up by a celebrity and these boots were bought by Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson. These work as both practical come on who doesn’t need a pair of black knee-high boots, and also fashionable with its vintage detailing of the stacked heel and leather tassels.

6. Medwinds Niza Knee Highs, £110, Medwinds

Classic knee highs never go out of fashion and these are beauties, I especially love the contrasting stacked heel and the price – such great value.

7. Aldo Barrarito, £200, Aldo

Want a designer boot at a more affordable price? Well the Christian Cota for Aldo collection is edgy and fashionable. My favourite has to be these knee-high leather boots, which do double duty as a trendy urban boots. As well as having a soft and cosy shearling lining – they also have a removable ankle cover – but that is the best bit for me. They also come in black but I just loved the brown.

8. Senso Jay Glitter Boot, £145, Doll Boutique

I couldn’t do a my top boots without including a glittery number or without one of my favourite Australian brands. I think these are perfect for the festive season, while still being comfortable as they only have a mid heel – also the harness feature I think allows these to be worn during the day as well.

Which one is your favourite?

Wishlist: I Need These EMU Australia High Tops

I love sheepskin footwear, I have numerous pairs of UGGs and I am an EMU Australia convert since I got a pair last year, and last week I had the pleasure of attending Cube PR’s press day and found these beauties.

These high tops are perfection, I love how the vintage leather panels are a great contrast against the sheepskin, also how comfortable do they look.

Roll on autumn/winter 2011, as these are going to one of my first purchase. Not a big fan of the camel colour, don’t worry they also come in black, is wrong that I want both??

I also loved a number of other items at the press day, these EMU Australia leather boots are gorgeous, I love the biker buckle detailing to the top, and new for AW11, EMU have introduced wedge boots *see below*. So you get to stay warm, weather resistant and fashionable, absolutely LOVE!!!

This Week: EMU Australia Opens First UK Pop-up Shop

Pic: EMU Australia - Naloo boots

I have openly blogged about the joys of EMU Australia, as a recent convert *I have a number of UGG Australia boots* I was exstatic to hear that the premium sheepskin brand is to open its first UK pop-up store this week. If like some of my friends you have been put off EMU due to it not having its stores on the high-street, and like me you have a touchy feely approach to shopping, then you’ll be just as excited as me that come January 5, for three-months the brand will have a temporary base in Holborn, London.

EMU will be taking over its UK PR company, Cube PR, selling women’s and men’s footwear, as well as its gorgeous line of apparel and accessories *I really want some ear muffs*. Recently both Fearne Cotton and Alexa Chung were spotted in the stunning *and extremely warm* Kallaroo jacket (below) in chocolate, and I love their range of biker jackets – the leather is so soft!

Still need convincing on the quality that is EMU? Well then you will have to check it out for yourself – let me know what you pick up as I am sure you won’t be able to leave the shop empty handed!!

EMU Australia pop-up @ Cube PR, 47 Lambs Conduit Street, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3NG. Open from January 5: and will be open Monday to Fridays 10am – 6pm and Saturdays 11am – 7pm.

Press Days: Selfridges, EMU Australia BBQ and AllSaints AW10

Most press days this week were all about Christmas with Selfridges being the pick of the draw – they even had Play-Doh in the goodie bag.

They had some fun quirky items, from Lego jewellery to a Juicy Couture Crayon Jewel set; but my favourite items had to be these cuties designed especially for its concept store, The Wonder Room by the wonderful Felt Mistress.

These bespoke one-off characters are amazing, especially loving ‘Lady Gaarrgghhh Garrgghhhh Monster Doll’ who is priced £390, and features as part of a seven-piece collection – there is even a Karl Lagerfeld. These dolls are definitely not toys and have most certainly been added to my Christmas list for Santa.

EMU Australia BBQ

If like me you have seen people wearing EMU shoes – but just thought that they were copies of UGG then think again. On Thursday I had a great night over at Cube PR and their EMU Australia BBQ – it was a great introduction to the brand, the original sheepskin footwear, of course I had heard of them but didn’t realise what great quality they were or that they did apparel – which I loved.

I own three pairs of UGGs, I love the comfortable nature of them as well as their adaptability they go with jeans, leggings as well as dresses – but seeing the autumn/winter line from EMU has made me re-evaluate. Don’t be put off by the fact that they don’t have their own shops on the high-street as they felt better than UGGs, the soles have more grip and they have a great muted palette of colours and styles.

Check out my favourites biker style EMUs the Naloo in chocolate – gorgeous!!

What was also nice about the relaxed evening was the BBQ, nice concept and even better butternut squash which was amazing.

AllSaints – A/W

One of my favourite press days of the summer was the AllSaints autumn/winter 2010 set in the grand location of Somerset House which was perfect for the great clothing and footwear that they had on show. As you would expect all the clothing was gorgeous – lots of draping dresses, chunky knits and sequin embellishments; as well as a colour palette of dove grey, blacks, charcoal, cream, brown and white.

Looking for investment pieces such a winter wool coat, jersey basics, woollen beauties or a fitted leather jacket – then this is the place to shop. But what I loved was the great footwear collection, definitely the labels best yet – featuring shoes with quirky wedge heels, boots with shearing lining or faux fur and great military and vintage styles.

Most of the items I loved at the press day aren’t available until November – but trust me it is worth the wait.
