The Perk Of Being A Wallflower: Emma Watson Shimmers In Giorgio Armani

Who: Emma Watson

Where: At the LA premiere of her latest movie ‘The Perk Of Being A Wallflower’

Wearing: A pale yellow lace Giorgio Armani gown, featuring long layers and scattered beading, accessorised with gold sandals

Verdict: This look from Emma Watson really made me think today, I have been pondering all afternoon whether I liked this look or not, and I think I am swaying to liking it. At first I was a little unsure because it didn’t wow me, it is very understated, but then I looked a little closer and the tiered sheer layers scattered with beads really is divine.

Emma is very petite and I think the floaty frock wears her rather than the other way round, but the look really is helped by the gorgeous shape showing off her neckline, the open back that adds a touch of glamour, and most of all the statement lippy and slicked back hair – the edgy styling really works with this gown for me.

I think this dress will have some people sold instantly, others it will be a grower and some will just dislike, which fence are you on?

MTV Movie Awards: Round Up – The Standouts & The Predictable

This years MTV Movie Awards weren’t what I was expecting, normally for MTV’s award ceremonies there isn’t much off the red carpet that I want to report on, but this time round I was pleasantly surprised, granted there were still a few predictable choices from the likes of Jennifer Aniston, and a few shockers, yes Jenna Dewan I am talking about you, but overall it was quite an interesting red carpet.

One of my favourite looks has to be Elizabeth Banks in this gorgeous, very trendy and perfect for the MTV Awards Elie Saab jumpsuit from the autumn/winter 2012 ready-to-wear collection. I absolutely love the lace panelling to the arms, legs and neckline, as well as the flawless tailoring of the jumpsuit, which fits her perfectly. Also I am glad to see Lulu Guinness’ lips clutch hitting the red carpet.

Next up we have three of my other favourite looks from three young actresses that really did shine. From Shailene Woodley giving Elizabeth Banks a run for her money for best jumpsuit in a black tuxedo halter menswear-inspired look by Stella McCartney from the autumn/winter 2012 London Evening Collection. From this picture her hair lets it down but trust me her fishtail braid was a divine touch, I am also loving her black lucite Stella McCartney heel sandals.

Emma Stone continued to impress me in this edgy monochrome Martin Grant Paris cocktail dress, which has been modified from an autumn/winter 2012 look, the architectural detailing to the bodice really makes this dress standout, plus her gorgeous nude leather ‘Grace’ Brian Atwood heels and tousled updo. Very chic look.

Working sports luxe to perfection was Emma Watson who looked gorgeous and edgy in Brood’s autumn/winter 2012 digital-printed top and skirt. Finishing off her flawless look were Tabitha Simmons Gothic strappy sandal heels.

I do love a good collaboration and hitting the MTV Movie Awards red carpet was a one-of-a-kind Christian Siriano strapless black spiral pleated black silk taffeta mini adorned with Timex watches and Swarovski crystals and Christina Ricci worked it. Styled by Brad Goreski, this dress is different but utterly striking inspired by John Singer Sargent’s 1884 oil painting titled Portrait of Madame X. I love the detailing on the bodice with the watch gears and faces.

Now to the predictable, which might I add I don’t dislike I just wasn’t surprised with their choices. From Kristen Stewart in a Guishem tight-fitted mini from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, to Jessica Biel in a simple-yet-textured Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, I am grateful that she wore those gorgeous Barbara Bui heels as they are hot.

The most predictable award however has to go to Jennifer Aniston, who once again wore a LBD, granted this one is leather, but still it is black and from one of her go-to designers Valentino. Hey she looks good in this one shoulder number from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, but come on if any award show deserved colour it was the MTV Movie Awards.

Coachella Festival: Mulberry Hosts A-List Barbecue

If like me you’ve been slightly avoiding some tweeters this weekend so not to see how much fun they are having at the Coachella Festival then I warn you look away now, as pictures from Mulberry’s barbecue and pool party hit my inbox over night and it looked amazing.

Yesterday the brand’s Creative Director Emma Hill and her giant monsters took over the Gene Autry House pool at The Parker hotel, in Palm Springs, and hosted a little R&R for some of its a-list pals and referenced the brand’s autumn/winter 2012 collection of mysterious monsters to create the perfect setting of sunbeds featuring the Mulberry monster fur print towels, monster cushions, and even giant monster lilos to relax in the pool.

Basically, the Mulberry monster invaded Coachella and served up BBQ kebabs and  lemonade popsicles to the likes of Emma Watson, Lily Collins and Kate Bosworth, and if that wasn’t enough they even got to wear prieces from the brand’s spring/summer and autumn/winter 2012 collections – think lots of animal prints, studs, and tassels.

Who: Emma Watson

Wearing: A Mulberry fuzzy tiger playsuit from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with a  black cardigan, belt, floppy hat, a Mulberry Mini Lily with Tassels in Oak from also from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, and gladiator-style flats

Verdict: This is a cute and pool party appropriate look from Emma and my best dressed Mulberry look, see Dree Hemingway at the bottom of the post in Dolce & Gabbana for my best overall look.

I am loving this playful look on her, sometimes I find Emma can be a little too serious in her style, which don’t get me wrong is generally impeccable, but I am loving that she is having a little fun with the animal print. I also love how she made the look her own with the addition of the belt, and that 70’s style hat. Also the tan version of the Mini Lily has so been added to my wish list – love that little beauty.

Who: Kate Bosworth

Wearing: A Mulberry fuzzy tiger scoop neck tee in acorn, teamed with studded black shorts, Mulberry black studded sneakers, and finishing off her look is a Mulberry Mini Lily with Tassels in Ink Blue, all from the autumn/winter 2012 collection

Verdict: Can Kate be any more cooler if she tried, I am loving her sexy casual vibe in these tiny studded shorts, which works perfectly with the animal print tee and those hot Mulberry sneakers. I also need to find out where her bright fish earrings are from as I am loving them!!!

Who: Actress of the moment Lily Collins

Wearing: A pale blue stripy straws Neely Mulberry dress, teamed with summer khaki stitched bow ballerina flats, both from the spring/summer 2012 collection, and completing her look is the ink blue Mulberry Lily with Tassels from the autumn/winter 2012 collection

Verdict: This was nearly my best dressed, I love the printed dress, the bag and her fresh face, but I am just not as sold on her shoes. Don’t get me wrong they work perfectly with the look, I am just not loving them, I much prefer the cross strap flats that she is wearing below with Kate.

Who: Dree Hemingway

Wearing: A Dolce & Gabbana chilli pepper-print cotton bustier and skirt from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with very high platform heels

Verdict: Out of all the models who attended the party, which also included Arizona Muse, Tali Lennox, and Cara Delveigne, Dree really captured my attention in this very summery Dolce & Gabbana catwalk look. I am loving that she teamed it with hot red lips – LOVE!!!

Beauty: Emma Watson Ignites Youth Into Lancome Make-Up

Let’s be honest when you think of Lancôme beauty do you think youthful? I will be surprised if many people said yes, because even though Lancôme offers exquisite quality it does seem to be aimed more at a mature marketplace. Maybe I am wrong, but this is how I feel about the brand, well that was until I saw this campaign starring Emma Watson.

I was a little surprised when it was announced that Emma was to be an ambassador for Lancôme because previously they had gone for the likes of Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts. But I can totally see what they’ve done here and I like it, for me this campaign shot by Mario Testino feels like a Rimmel London advert with its youthful glow – and it is all to increase the popularity of lipsticks over lip gloss among a younger audience.

I am not normally bothered by beauty advertising campaigns, maybe it because I am useless when it comes to make-up, but I love that  Emma has a romantic-yet-sophisticated look in this shot, while still working the striking bright red shades on her lips and nails.

So does Emma make you want to work lipstick?
