Cover Loving: Vanity Fair’s Hollywood Issue – Emma Stone In Bed With Ben & Bradley

Vanity Fair’s Hollywood issue is always one of my favourite magazines of the year and the cover is always highly anticipated and I have been wondering how many A-lists would fit on the cover this year – well it seems this year they only needed three – Emma Stone, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper.

Shot by Bruce Weber, this is Vanity Fair’s 19th Hollywood Issue, and whereas the cover may not wow me as it has in recent years, I do love that Ben and Bradley are wearing bear and gorilla costumes, and I can’t wait to pick up a copy as the mag features more than 75 different stars in the mags tribute to the town.

The full gate-fold cover is below and it also includes youngest-ever best-actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis, a raunchy looking Olivia Wilde as a showgirl and my latest red carpet crush Kerry Washington. Inside there are also shots of Halle Berry, Jonah Hill, Armie Hammer, Bella Heathcote and Eddy Redmayne dancing with a bear, as well as Tom Hanks, Amy Adams, Ewan McGregor and Selena Gomez. Literally everyone in Hollywood it seems.

What do you think of the cover and will you be picking up the Hollywood issue?

Cover Loving: February Magazines Are All About Actresses

You can tell that it is award season as all the major magazines have gorgeous actresses gracing their covers. Vanity Fair has gone for Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence, Harper’s Bazaar have an elegant looking Anne Hathaway, Glamour UK goes girlie with Emma Stone, and Victoria Beckham’s designs score two covers with both Scarlett Johansson and Kristen Stewart wearing white on the covers of ELLE UK and V Magazine.

My favourite has to be the gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence sporting her natural blonde locks in a fun cover for Vanity Fair. Shot by Ellen von Unwerth there is a softness in Jennifer’s face on the cover that is transformed into a complete vixen for the accompanying editorial and I love it. Sometimes Jennifer can be a little too serious – this cover is fun and relaxed and definitely brightened up my day.

Vanity-Fair-jennifer-lawrenemma-stone-glamour-magazineIt was close but my girl crush Emma Stone is my second favourite with her girlie cover for Glamour UK shot by Matthias Vriens-McGarth. Wearing a D&G botanical floral print, Emma is perfect for Glamour’s audience, I just wish they had gone for a different colour for the font – the orange is working for me. Anyone else was thinking this cover looks a little familiar? Well you would be right as a very similar shot from the same shoot was used for Glamour US back in May 2011.

Next up has to be Scarlett Johansson’s subscriber cover for ELLE UK’s February issue wearing a Burberry coat shot by Rankin. I like the newsstand version with her working a Victoria Beckham microbrush and lace dress but only from the ankles up, I am not loving those runway Manolo Blahnik for Victoria Beckham shoes. The subscriber cover is intriguing – I love the messy hair and seeing only one eye – Scarlett looks beautiful.

It was hard to decide who came next between Anne and Kristen, I am not blown away by either cover to be honest, but I think Harper’s Bazaar just takes it because of that gorgeous crystal-embellished Giorgio Armani strapless gown – all I can say about the rest is does Anne have a lazy eye?

Kristen doesn’t fair much better for me on V Magazine’s Spring 2013 issue. It isn’t that I don’t like the styling, the white Victoria Beckham vest with a black bra peeking out is fine, the make-up is grundy as you would expect from the Twilight actress – the problem I have is that I feel I have seen it all before – the wet hair, the moody look, the dark make-up around the eyes. Anyone else a little bored?

Cover Loving: Emma Stone For Interview Magazine

It feels like I have been doing blog posts about September issues for months now, I am over exaggerating I know, but there has just been so many incredible covers, and I have to add Interview magazine’s sci-fi-inspired cover with Emma Stone to that long list.

This is Emma Stone’s debut cover for Interview and what a statement cover. Shot by Mikael Jansson and styled by Karl Temper this is one of the edgiest editorials I have seen from the actress, normally her covers are more girlie, elegant and kooky – but never have I seen her work such gorgeous strong high-fashion pieces before.

Everything from the statement Chanel necklace on the cover to her wearing pieces from Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Lanvin, Christopher Kane, and Haider Ackermann, this is a huge departure from her girl-next-door persona, and I love it.

I can’t wait to see this editorial in print as I love how it has been made to look like a 80’s sci-fi flick with the neon lights, the smoky set, and an army of hunks wearing trench coat and shades, which all works perfectly with the grainy images.

Do you like this bold cover from Emma Stone or do you prefer her looking charming and kooky?[Pics: interviewmagazine.com]

Beauty: Emma Stone Gets Her Own OPI Nails

I am an avid nail varnish collector, I am easily bewitched by pretty colours and quirky names, work in my latest style crush that is Emma Stone and I seriously believe that OPI had created their latest collection just for me.

Fresh from the success of the Miss Piggy and Minnie Mouse collections, OPI have now release six new lacquers to get your Spidey senses tingling to celebrate Emma Stone’s latest flick, The Amazing Spider-Man that hit cinemas over the weekend.

The collection captures the vivid colours of the film and includes a stunning range of sultry dark green and blue metallics perfect for Peter Parker, but I am more drawn to the look-at-me brights of the pinky-red ‘Your Web or Mine?’ and the coral beauty made specially for Emma Stone’s character ‘Call Me Gwen-ever’.

I haven’t had time to try both my favourites yet, but I couldn’t resist working ‘Your Web or Mine?’ last week, I have a lot of pink shades from demure light to uber-bright neon, but this is more of a glam pink with a hint of red and I love that it really stands out.

I painted two coats as I wanted it to really stand out, but if you wanted a more subtle shade just do one and it will still have a great feel to it. I am not sure my images do it justice but I love the metallic finish of this colour, and I am excited to try ‘Call Me Gwen-ever’.

Will you be wearing The Amazing Spider-Man collection?

Cover Loving: Emma Stone Graces British Vogue

Following on from her uber-glamorous and stunning debut for American Vogue and her adorable Teen Vogue cover with her boyfriend Andrew Garfield, The Amazing Spider-Man star Emma Stone has also bagged a British Vogue cover.

Very different from the July American Vogue cover, Emma Stone is showing what a versatile cover star she is, I am loving her monochrome MaxMara jumper teamed with a cap on the British Vogue August cover, her eye just pop beautifully – stunning cover.

Also are caps having a moment? I was just saying earlier how chic Diane Kruger looked in a flat cap at the Chanel show yesterday. Also caps on covers always seems to work well – I also loved Victoria Beckham for i-D magazine back in February.

I am not sure if I prefer it over the American cover, they both work for me, I think I will have to see the accompanying editorial to pass judgement.

What do you think – are you loving Emma Stone’s Vogue cover spree?

The Amazing Spider-Man: Emma Stone In Chanel

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the LA premiere for her new movie The Amazing Spider-Man

Wearing: A short-sleeved white Chanel dress with burgundy velvet embroidered flowers on the bodice and shoulders from the Resort 2012/3 collection, teamed with a peek-a-boo tulle underlay, silver spiked Christian Louboutin heels with ankle straps and Cartier jewellery

Verdict: Coming to the end of her world tour for Spider-Man, Emma really has pulled out all the stops wearing a gorgeous tuxedo-style jumpsuit by Elie Saab, a sexy Gucci gown, a stunning Bottega Veneta gown with a striking peplum waist, and a delicate embroidered Dolce & Gabbana dress, so it was only fair that Chanel got a look in!!!

I am not sure if this is my favourite of the looks, the Elie Saab and the Dolce & Gabbana were amazing, and come on the black Gucci gown was incredible, but this is gorgeous and elegant, while still showcasing her fun personality perfectly. I think you will all agree this has been a very successful promo tour for Emma in the fashion stakes.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Emma Stone In Dolce & Gabbana

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At The Amazing Spider-Man’s Madrid premiere

Wearing: A floral embroidered cream lace Dolce & Gabbana dress with puffy shoulders and a scalloped hemline from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with nude Christian Louboutin heels

Verdict: What a contrast to her uber-glamorous kind of masculine Elie Saab jumpsuit she wore to the London premiere but I love it just as much. First up, did you notice the scalloped lace hem, yep I told you scalloped detailing is everywhere, and it really gives this dress a delicate and vintage touch, which works perfectly with the floral embroidery.

What I love about this dress the most has to be those gorgeous puffy shoulders, kind of 80’s prom Queen, then you add in the vintage/curtain vibe in the colourful floral tapestry embroidery, especially the detailing to her waist that completely nips in her already tiny waist. and I am sold.

Simply gorgeous. I also love her wavy hair kept in place with white hair clips. Completely adorable. LOVE this look a lot!!!
