Emma Stone: Vogue US vs Teen Vogue

Vogue US – July 2012 vs Teen Vogue – August 2012

My style crush on Emma Stone is getting nearly as bad as my one for Diane Kruger, I am not sure why but she just has the unique ability to make me smile. I completely adore her girl-next-door vibe mixed in with a chameleon who can work nearly any look, add in her goofy personality and her stunning beauty and she has it all going on. Seriously her Revlon beauty ads make me look twice, and her red carpet looks keep on wowing me.

With all that love I am so pleased to see Emma finally grace the cover of American Vogue, and what a beauty of a cover it is, surely the best one of the year so far. Shot by Mario Testino, Emma looks divine in a look from Nina Ricci’s autumn/winter 2012 collection on the July 2012 cover, and the accompanying editorial is just as gorgeous featuring looks from Jil Sander, Ralph Lauren, Prada, and Givenchy.

Vogue US – July 2012

The Teen Vogue August cover, shot by Josh Olins, isn’t quite as striking as the American Vogue cover, but come on how adorable do Emma and Andrew Garfield look together. What I will say is that the purple Louis Vuitton dress that Emma is wearing is such a good colour on her, but I have to be honest I would have preferred it if they had gone for a solo Emma cover – especially if they’d used my favourite floral McQ Alexander McQueen dress that Victoria Justice wore to the Met Gala.

The rest of the editorial is cute, chemistry isn’t amazing considering they are an actual couple as well as co-stars in the latest Spider-Man flick, but I am loving the use of Marc Jacobs, Mulberry, Prada, Calvin Klein, and how adorable does Emma look in that Marc by Marc Jacobs hat.

I think I already know the answer – but which cover do you prefer grown-up or teen Vogue???

The Amazing Spider-Man: Emma Stone In Elie Saab

EmmaStoneElieSaab The Amazing Spider Man: Emma Stone In Elie Saab %tag

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the UK premiere of her new film The Amazing Spider-Man at the Odeon Leicester Square, London

Wearing: A black long-sleeve Elie Saab jumpsuit, with a sequinned embroidered v-neck bodice, wide leg tuxedo-style trousers from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with a black belt with a gold buckle, and black pointed toe heels

Verdict: If you didn’t love Emma Stone before I think you will after seeing her in this divine Elie Saab jumpsuit. As soon as I saw her in this glittery-yet-masculine jumpsuit I actually oohed that it is how gorgeous this look is.

Elie Saab is really having a jumpsuit moment, I adored the one that Elizabeth Banks wore to the MTV Movie Awards, it had a more feminine look than Emma’s but just as gorgeous. But I think it will be hard for anyone to work an Elie Saab jumpsuit better than Rose Byrne who rocked a full-embellished white number to the SAG Awards. Seriously hot!!!

I love everything about Emma’s look from the glittery jumpsuit, to the masculine tuxedo pants, the cinched-in waist, to her simple-yet-chic straight hair and smoky eyes.

Do you love Emma’s red carpet look as much as I do?

MTV Movie Awards: Round Up – The Standouts & The Predictable

ElizabethBanksElieSaab MTV Movie Awards: Round Up The Standouts & The Predictable %tag

This years MTV Movie Awards weren’t what I was expecting, normally for MTV’s award ceremonies there isn’t much off the red carpet that I want to report on, but this time round I was pleasantly surprised, granted there were still a few predictable choices from the likes of Jennifer Aniston, and a few shockers, yes Jenna Dewan I am talking about you, but overall it was quite an interesting red carpet.

One of my favourite looks has to be Elizabeth Banks in this gorgeous, very trendy and perfect for the MTV Awards Elie Saab jumpsuit from the autumn/winter 2012 ready-to-wear collection. I absolutely love the lace panelling to the arms, legs and neckline, as well as the flawless tailoring of the jumpsuit, which fits her perfectly. Also I am glad to see Lulu Guinness’ lips clutch hitting the red carpet.

Next up we have three of my other favourite looks from three young actresses that really did shine. From Shailene Woodley giving Elizabeth Banks a run for her money for best jumpsuit in a black tuxedo halter menswear-inspired look by Stella McCartney from the autumn/winter 2012 London Evening Collection. From this picture her hair lets it down but trust me her fishtail braid was a divine touch, I am also loving her black lucite Stella McCartney heel sandals.

Emma Stone continued to impress me in this edgy monochrome Martin Grant Paris cocktail dress, which has been modified from an autumn/winter 2012 look, the architectural detailing to the bodice really makes this dress standout, plus her gorgeous nude leather ‘Grace’ Brian Atwood heels and tousled updo. Very chic look.

Working sports luxe to perfection was Emma Watson who looked gorgeous and edgy in Brood’s autumn/winter 2012 digital-printed top and skirt. Finishing off her flawless look were Tabitha Simmons Gothic strappy sandal heels.

I do love a good collaboration and hitting the MTV Movie Awards red carpet was a one-of-a-kind Christian Siriano strapless black spiral pleated black silk taffeta mini adorned with Timex watches and Swarovski crystals and Christina Ricci worked it. Styled by Brad Goreski, this dress is different but utterly striking inspired by John Singer Sargent’s 1884 oil painting titled Portrait of Madame X. I love the detailing on the bodice with the watch gears and faces.

Now to the predictable, which might I add I don’t dislike I just wasn’t surprised with their choices. From Kristen Stewart in a Guishem tight-fitted mini from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, to Jessica Biel in a simple-yet-textured Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, I am grateful that she wore those gorgeous Barbara Bui heels as they are hot.

The most predictable award however has to go to Jennifer Aniston, who once again wore a LBD, granted this one is leather, but still it is black and from one of her go-to designers Valentino. Hey she looks good in this one shoulder number from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, but come on if any award show deserved colour it was the MTV Movie Awards.

Who gets your best dressed vote?

Met Gala 2012: Emma Stone In Custom Lanvin

emmastone Met Gala 2012: Emma Stone In Custom Lanvin %tag

Who: Actress Emma Stone

Where: At the Met Gala 2012 in New York

Wearing: A red custom-made flirty Lanvin dress design by Alber Elbaz, which featured more than 3,000 hand-embroidered plastic and crystal flower paillette’s, teamed with black heels and Lanvin crystal hair accessories

Verdict: When they were both being interviewed Alber’s said that the dress was “rainproofed”, which kind of sums up the amazing chemistry between the two, Lanvin and Emma Stone is a great match and she looked so cute it in this mini-dress. Just for the fun of this dress paired with a cute updo and bright blue nails it gets my vote for one of the best dressed.

I really do like how the dress kicks out at the waist and the embellished detailing is really interesting, I am sure for some this dress is a little too playful for the Met Gala but I think it suits her personality well, however I am sure there will be a lot of examining this look up against Victoria Justice in her floral McQ.

Do you like Emma’s look?

84th Oscars: Emma Stone Deja Vu For Nicole Kidman

emmavsnicole 84th Oscars: Emma Stone Deja Vu For Nicole Kidman %tag

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the 84th Academy Awards held at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: In a red Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown with high-neck and bow detailing, accessorised with a Louis Vuitton clutch and fine jewellery

Verdict: First up I am so glad that someone wore this Giambattista Valli Couture gown as it was one of my picks that I wanted to see on the red carpet, but it was only seeing it in red that I realised what a copy this dress is of the Balenciaga gown that Nicole Kidman wore to the Oscars back in 2007.

Granted it doesn’t stop Emma’s gown being gorgeous, I love the cut better than Nicole’s, I think the bigger bow really does work, and the colour is a deeper shade of red. I also love red hair paired with red gowns – just works for me.

What do you think is this dress a deja vu moment of Nicole’s?

Essence Luncheon: Emma Stone Wows In Elie Saab

emmastoneeliesaab Essence Luncheon: Emma Stone Wows In Elie Saab %tag

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the 5th annual Essence ‘Black Women in Hollywood’ luncheon

Wearing: A white three-quarter sleeved Elie Saab Couture dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, paired with Brian Atwood platform heels and a nude-toned clutch

Verdict: I love, love, love this Elie Saab dress, not only does Emma Stone look gorgeous in white totally pops against her striking hair colouring, but the fit-and-flare silhouette is perfection on her, but what I adore the most has to be the cotton-wool textured embroidery detailing.

This dress really is the perfect choice for a luncheon and I love that Emma wore it, what I am wishing though is that she had worn bright coloured accessories – maybe an electic blue heel or a Barbie pink clutch – this demure dress is calling out for a pop of colour.

What do you think – pop of colour of nude-tone accessories with this angelic dress?

SAG Awards: Emma Stone Shines In Alexander McQueen

emmastoneMcQueen SAG Awards: Emma Stone Shines In Alexander McQueen %tag

Who: Emma Stone

Where: At the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles

Wearing: A black strapless exploding lace bustier Alexander McQueen gown from the pre-autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with a lace clutch and shoes, finishing off her outfit with Paloma’s Venezia diamond drop earrings and diamond rings by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co

Verdict: I have said on many occasions that I love Emma Stone’s style, I loved her Golden Globes Lanvin two-toned gown but this tea-length gown in just stunning. What I adore most about Emma is her ability to mix it up, from the Gucci tailored suit she wore to the People’s Choice to a gorgeous floor-skimming green Jason Wu she dazzled in to the Critics’ Choice Awards, to this absolutely stunning shorter length.

Each time a flawless choice. Normally I am not overly wowed by black at award ceremonies, mainly because I want something bright and different, but among all the long dresses Emma really stood out for all the right reasons. Easily one of my best dressed.
