Day three of my Oscars 2018 coverage – are you still with me? Or are you totally done with the award season red carpet? I promise this is the last one, but it is a good one, my favourite looks from the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, which sometimes I find is even better than the main event as the celebs can be a little be more adventurous, and I have some gorgeous looks for you – from Gal Gadot to Sienna Miller and my new style crush, Eiza Gonzalez who apparently you all love from your social media comments. My Favourite 8 Looks
The Academy Awards is always one of my favourite red carpet night’s of the year, I do love the elegance, the drama and the exquisitely crafted gowns, and this year the Oscars 2018 didn’t disappoint, the all-black looks from the Golden Globes and BAFTAs were gone and a more hopeful, optimistic red carpet was in its place, filled with rainbow hues, bold statements, bows and lots and lots of sparkle. The red carpet was packed full of incredible looks and I have to be honest it was hard to pick just five as I’ve done at previous award shows this
So we’ve already done the SAG Awards and the Golden Globes and last night all the hottest Hollywood stars descended on the UK for the BAFTAs 2017, and of course they all brought their red carpet glam team as there were so many gorgeous looks, where black, embroidery detailing and ruffles were the key trends of the night. But who was the best dressed? Well, here are my top five from Nicole Kidman in Giorgio Armani Privé to Emily Blunt in Alexander McQueen. BAFTAs 2017 Best Dressed My top spot at the BAFTAs 2017 has to go to Rising Star Award nominee
If I said to you which fashion houses are the go-to red carpet designers – would Prada be one of them? I can imagine that you are probably listing designers including Elie Saab, Armani, Versace, Givenchy, Dior and Chanel, but not so much Prada. I think a couple of years ago Miuccia Prada didn’t really translate her Prada ready-to-wear onto the red carpet, the designs looked a little rushed, unflattering and not very well put together, but in the last 12-months I’ve noticed I stark change in direction from the Italian fashion house, the designs are more custom to the wearer
I was a little worried that Cannes 2015 had peaked a little early, day one and two were amazing, then Diane Kruger came to town and another high and then I haven’t really seen anything to wow me, lots of beautiful but nothing stunning enough to make the blog, until Emily Blunt who is in the French Riviera promoting her film ‘Sicario’. The actress has donned three looks and each one has been divine, especially her dazzling custom Stella McCartney gown.
