Wearing: A white Miu Miu dress that fell at the ankles featuring a crystal-embellished neckline and cross-back straps, teamed with a gold box clutch and Prada metallic heels
Verdict: Known for her simple-yet-stunning looks on the red carpet, do you remember that vibrant Alexander McQueen last year, well this another gorgeous dress that is made into a show-stopping number as soon as you see the back, like with Jessica Chastain’s Prada gown.
I love that this dress fell at her ankle as it added a different dimension to the gown and stood out on the red carpet, plus it totally worked perfectly with her Old Hollywood glamour with her striking lippy and pin curls.
I do love a cinematic cover and editorial spread and this one from Citizen K’s autumn issue featuring Emily Blunt is one of the best I have seen for a while, I just adore her disturbed housewife role.
Shot by Gavin Bond, Emily Blunt looks amazing, very prim and proper, I love the matching ruby-red lips and nails, and it is all pulled together nicely with an added stiffness and a cold stare that you would expect from a Stepford wife – seriously cool shoot.
The cover sets the scene perfectly, Emily looks striking in an incredible Prada look styled by Penny Lovell - that beaded crop top is divine. Throughout the editorial I love the contrast of the glamorous styling featuring red carpet worthy gowns from the likes of Roberto Cavalli against the housewife tasks, you see Emily beheading a rose, cleaning the pool, feeding the dog, and even finding the time to catch a few rays between chores – the story telling is perfection.
I do love it when magazines take their cover shoots to a whole new level and this is one of my favourites this year. Do you rate Emily Blunt as a Stepford wife?
Did you swoon over Emily Blunt’s Oscar de la Renta gown that she worn to the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards at the weekend? Well if you have close to £4k then this gorgeous one-shoulder green silk-chiffon gown could be yours.
It definitely is a head-turner, with its vibrant shade, form-flattering silhouette, gorgeous asymmetric draped bodice, and I love the drama and elegance of its thigh-high split.
Still interested in buying? Well for £3,725 it could be yours from Net-a-Porter.com. I think it would make a great alternative wedding gown – who says the bride has to wear white!!!
Where: At The 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California
Wearing: A vibrant one-shouldered emerald Oscar de la Renta gown, which looked like it had been slightly modified from a dress that was seen on the Resort 2012 runway, teamed with a Swarovski clutch, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Jimmy Choo heels
Verdict: I have to say that I don’t think anyone does green better than Oscar de la Renta, this gown is so striking and looks perfectly against her new dark brown hair. Brights were certainly a trend at this year’s SAG Awards but this was certainly one of my favourites – the neon hue worked really well on the red carpet. I also love that she added some sparkle to her outfit with that square clutch and that gorgeous gemstone cuff.
It seems I am not the only one who loves a Loewe bag, celebrities including Claudia Schiffer, Jessica Alba and Daisy Lowe, have been spotted carrying the bright and funky Flamenco handbags.
This Nappa leather bag is a reissue of the 80s classic and I just love how it stands out from the crowd with its rainbow pop colours. I love the extra-large tassels, the strap that allows it to be worn as a shoulder bag or cross-body, plus the fact that it comes it two sizes, the large one is perfect for all my daily needs.
It does however seem to be the celebrity ‘it’ bag of the moment though, even Aussie pop star Kylie was seen carrying the Candy coloured one in London recently, the same one that Daisy Lowe has. I love the dual-tone of this bag – as soon as I saw it I was thinking that Barbie and Mattel need to hook up with Loewe as they would make a great accessories pack for my favourite doll!!
I think my favourite is the yellow one, yep I am following the lead of Claudia Schiffer, Ashley Greene and Emily Blunt, who all have this stunning bag.
There is one catch though this beauty is over 1,000 Euros, to be exact the Flamenco 22 is 1,200 Euros and the Flamenco 30 is 1.400 Euros. I’ve already added it to my wishful thinking Christmas list to Santa!!!
