Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Elizabeth Banks Wearing Alexander McQueen

Elizabeth banks VF2013 Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Elizabeth Banks Wearing Alexander McQueen %tagWho: Elizabeth Banks

Where: At the 2013 Vanity Fair Oscars party, held at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood

Wearing: A poppy print organza Alexander McQueen gown from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with a plexi tortoiseshell belt and metal honeycomb skull box clutch

Verdict: I actually hoped that someone might have worn this to the main event, but I think everyone was playing it a little too safe, so I was pleased to see that Elizabeth Banks added some colour to the Vanity Fair party.

As well as being vibrant, I love that orange poppy print, I also love the sexy vibe of the low-cut bodice and the glitz of the Alexander McQueen gold accessories. The only thing I can’t quite get on board with is the Jedward hair-do – is it just me or does that not work so well???

People Like Us: Elizabeth Banks Sparkles In Elie Saab

EBanksElieSaab People Like Us: Elizabeth Banks Sparkles In Elie Saab %tag

Who: Elizabeth Banks

Where: At the screening of “People Like Us” in New York City

Wearing: A nude, fully embroidered Elie Saab halterneck cocktail dress, with an open back, from the autumn/winter 2012 ready-to-wear collection, teamed with Pierre Hardy strappy heels, an Edie Parker clutch, and jewellery by Cartier

Verdict: This her second look from the Elie Saab autumn/winter 2012 collection, I loved her jumpsuit that she wore to the MTV Movie Awards, but this cocktail dress is just flawless. I love the halterneck style on Elizabeth, but what makes this fully embellished dress shine for me has to be the glittering metallic ombré effect – simply gorgeous.

I love that she didn’t do too much with her accessories both the clutch and heels matched perfectly, I especially love the triple gold and nude strap heels by Pierre Hardy.

As always I am blown away by Elizabeth from head-to-toe, her dress is divine, her accessories are perfection, and her make-up and hair is flawless. LOVE it all.

MTV Movie Awards: Round Up – The Standouts & The Predictable

ElizabethBanksElieSaab MTV Movie Awards: Round Up The Standouts & The Predictable %tag

This years MTV Movie Awards weren’t what I was expecting, normally for MTV’s award ceremonies there isn’t much off the red carpet that I want to report on, but this time round I was pleasantly surprised, granted there were still a few predictable choices from the likes of Jennifer Aniston, and a few shockers, yes Jenna Dewan I am talking about you, but overall it was quite an interesting red carpet.

One of my favourite looks has to be Elizabeth Banks in this gorgeous, very trendy and perfect for the MTV Awards Elie Saab jumpsuit from the autumn/winter 2012 ready-to-wear collection. I absolutely love the lace panelling to the arms, legs and neckline, as well as the flawless tailoring of the jumpsuit, which fits her perfectly. Also I am glad to see Lulu Guinness’ lips clutch hitting the red carpet.

Next up we have three of my other favourite looks from three young actresses that really did shine. From Shailene Woodley giving Elizabeth Banks a run for her money for best jumpsuit in a black tuxedo halter menswear-inspired look by Stella McCartney from the autumn/winter 2012 London Evening Collection. From this picture her hair lets it down but trust me her fishtail braid was a divine touch, I am also loving her black lucite Stella McCartney heel sandals.

Emma Stone continued to impress me in this edgy monochrome Martin Grant Paris cocktail dress, which has been modified from an autumn/winter 2012 look, the architectural detailing to the bodice really makes this dress standout, plus her gorgeous nude leather ‘Grace’ Brian Atwood heels and tousled updo. Very chic look.

Working sports luxe to perfection was Emma Watson who looked gorgeous and edgy in Brood’s autumn/winter 2012 digital-printed top and skirt. Finishing off her flawless look were Tabitha Simmons Gothic strappy sandal heels.

I do love a good collaboration and hitting the MTV Movie Awards red carpet was a one-of-a-kind Christian Siriano strapless black spiral pleated black silk taffeta mini adorned with Timex watches and Swarovski crystals and Christina Ricci worked it. Styled by Brad Goreski, this dress is different but utterly striking inspired by John Singer Sargent’s 1884 oil painting titled Portrait of Madame X. I love the detailing on the bodice with the watch gears and faces.

Now to the predictable, which might I add I don’t dislike I just wasn’t surprised with their choices. From Kristen Stewart in a Guishem tight-fitted mini from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, to Jessica Biel in a simple-yet-textured Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection, I am grateful that she wore those gorgeous Barbara Bui heels as they are hot.

The most predictable award however has to go to Jennifer Aniston, who once again wore a LBD, granted this one is leather, but still it is black and from one of her go-to designers Valentino. Hey she looks good in this one shoulder number from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, but come on if any award show deserved colour it was the MTV Movie Awards.

Who gets your best dressed vote?

The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab

elizabethelie The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks In Elie Saab %tag

Who: Elizabeth Banks

Where: At the Berlin premiere of The Hunger Games

Wearing: A fully embellished orange Elie Saab gown from the ready-to-wear spring/summer 2012 collection

Verdict: I am loving that Elizabeth keeps on working the bright colours, first was an orange Atelier Versace sexy mini, then came the vibrant yellow Bill Blass, which I think might be my favourite of her looks, then there was that daring raspberry Marc Jacobs, and the rainbow hues continued in Germany with this gorgeous fiery orange Elie Saab gown.

I thought The Hunger Games promo tour was going to be all about Jennifer Lawrence, and don’t get me wrong the world premiere and that Prabal Gurung gown did have the world watching her, but I have been so impressed with Elizabeth Banks – great designer choices, gorgeous colours, and fab hair for each and every look. This intricate embellished Elie Saab was another perfect gown for her. LOVE.

The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks In Marc Jacobs

Who: Elizabeth Banks

Where: At The Hunger Games Paris premiere on the latest stop of the movie’s promotional tour

Wearing: A pink sequinned Marc Jacobs dress with oversized floral accents from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with a black clutch and heels

Verdict: Once again Elizabeth sparkled for me, her use of bright colours has worked perfectly and I think this is her best look yet on this tour. I think this dress is quite daring, I don’t think everyone could work this fitted sequinned number, especially with its floral accents to the neckline but she looks stunning.

As well as another shade of the rainbow, Elizabeth also brought a new hair style to the red carpet, I love her chignon really does show off this dresses sparkles to perfection.

The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks In Bill Blass

ElizabethBanks2 The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks In Bill Blass %tag

Who: Elizabeth Banks

Where: At the London Premiere of The Hunger Games at the O2 Arena

Wearing: A yellow embellished backless Bill Blass column gown from his spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with a matching yellow box clutch and drop earrings

Verdict: I might be after a pop of colour from Jennifer Lawrence at her next premiere but I don’t need to worry about Elizabeth as she seems to be going through the citrus family, first was the vibrant orange Versace dress in Hollywood and now this gorgeous primrose yellow maxi, maybe in Europe she will be in lime green. I really do adore her confidence in colour.

This gown looks exquisite from the front but as soon as she turned around I gasped, the open-back really does make this a glamorous gown. I also love her change-up with her hair, the wavy up-do really suits this dress.

Is it controversial to say I think Elizabeth takes best dressed? What do you think do you prefer this zesty yellow number of Jennifer’s gold?

The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks Works Atelier Versace

ElizabethBanksVersace The Hunger Games: Elizabeth Banks Works Atelier Versace %tag

Who: Elizabeth Banks who plays Effie Trinket in the film

Where: At the world premiere of The Hunger Games in Hollywood

Wearing: A bright orange structured one-shoulder Atelier Versace mini-dress from the spring/summer 2012 collection with 3D detailing and gold accents, teamed with nude Jimmy Choo Biel peep-toe wedges and a gold clutch

Verdict: I’ve been waiting for someone to wear this bright orange hue from Atelier Versace’s couture show in Paris since I saw the images of the collection. Elizabeth looks stunning in this colour and the 3D detailing doesn’t over power her tiny frame, the only thinking letting this look down has to be those quite boring wedges. I wish she would have worn the catwalk heels or some sky-high gold strappy heels. But what I do love is her hair I am a big fan of the half-up-half-down and her blonde locks are divine – so shiny.
