I know I don’t generally feature menswear, mainly because one I am a girl and like to share things I would love to wear, two unless Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck or Channing Tatum is wearing the piece of menswear it is just plain boring, and thirdly because the main man in my life doesn’t really want to feature on my blog.
But I had to make an exception for these cool ‘Qwerty’ keyboard soled hi-top trainers that I picked up for my boyfriend at Dune recently, I even stopped him for wearing them until I had snapped them as I didn’t want him to ruin the sole.
My boyfriend generally owns nearly as many shoes as I do and most would have to be trainers and he has quite a mix from superhero converse to Jamaican flag Pumas, and these cool hi-tops make a great addition as they are both casual and smart, which means they are perfect for him to wear to work with jeans.
What I love about these beauties is in the details – not only the ‘Qwerty’ keyboard sole, which is pretty cool, but the suede tipped toes, the off-white laces, the panel stitching all over, the huge sewn in tongue, and the aged leather – I really just love their slouchy vibe without being too cool.
What do you think of these hi-tops would you like your man to wear these?
Buy His Style: Dune Shellshock Hi-Top Casual Trainers available at Dune, John Lewis, and House of Fraser in black or tan priced £75.
Back in March I shared the fab Kat Maconie collaboration for Dune, well nearly two months later they have finally hit the store, and with a weekend of sun under my belt I think I am going to need to invest in a pair of these flats.
I love the block heels, especially the ones with the Art Deco fan detailing, but these flats will see you through summer and will go with everything especially if you go for the black or the gold. What I love about these Soho Beach t-bar sandals has to be the combination of the adorable low block gold heel and the gold stud embellishments – seriously hot.
I really do think for £135, these glam flats will be the perfect day-to-night flats and in terms of a pay-per-wear ratio I really do think you will easily make your money back on them!!!
Now all I need to decide is black, hot pink or gold???
Ready, steady, shop!!!
At the strike of 4pm today until lunchtime on Friday, March 16 high street shoe store Dune is offering a 20% off discount code off its full price items. There are lots of options in the collection from neon brights to ice-cream sugar hues, ballet flats with pointy, square and rounded toes, as well as Gatsby-inspired t-bars, studded gladiators, cute peep-toe wedges, and seriously everything in between. Oh and I nearly forgot they also have a great range of accessories from sparkly clutches to daywear bags, as well as oversized sunglasses and scarves.
I have picked out a few of my favourite styles, but simply all you have to do is enter VIP15 at the checkout, just remember the code is only valid from 4pm today, until Noon on Friday, and only works once per customer.
Happy shopping shoe/bag lovers.
I do love a good collaboration, and the latest on my wish-list has to be the Kat Maconie shoe collection for Dune, especially the flats. The line inspired by a trip to Miami, consists of three styles – flats, and two heeled designs, all of which come in three different colours – black, taupe and bright fuchsia, and the best bit is that they all feature lots of Art Deco embellishments in the form of gold pyramid studs and pleated fan detailing.
This is one seriously hot collection, which hits Dune stores in mid-April, and I am lusting over all the fan detailing, pops of gold metal, and most of all the price tag won’t break the bank as the flats start at £65.
I do love the pop of pink but I think the jet black with the gold just looks gorgeous and I think these beauties will be my go-to shoes this summer. I can see myself wearing these with a maxi dress, denim mini, or even a cocktail dress they are so exquisite.
Snakeskin print was seen on the autumn/winter catwalks of Prada, Gucci and Missoni and it is a huge trend on the highstreet. With trends as striking as snakeskin I always think unless you love wearing bold, work the look with your accessories, and for me snakeskin shoes are the hottest way!
There is a lot of choice out there but I loved the AW11 collection from Dune, especially its flats vs heels in the snakeskin stakes!! You will have seen the heel in Dune’s ad campaign, it is where I first stopped it on my flick through Vogue, and how spot on is that blue/green snakeskin to what Gucci sent down the runway? But for me its those loafers that I think will look amazing dressed with skinny jeans and an oversized jumper.
Will you be working the snakeskin look?
