The Apparition: Ashley Greene Is Stunning In Donna Karan Atelier

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: At the LA premiere of her new film The Apparition held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

Wearing: A bright fuchsia strapless bustier Donna Karan Atelier floor-length gown, featured ruching detailing all over it and a thigh-high split to the side, teamed with nude Jimmy Choo heels and an eye-catching cocktail ring

Verdict:Wow, this on-going partnership between Ashley Greene and Donna Karan is a total winner, once again Ashley completely wows on the red, sorry black carpet. Styled by Cristina Ehrlich, who is known for styling the divine Penelope Cruz, really put together an amazing look. I love the colour, I call this eye-popping fuchsia a sophisticated Barbie colour, and I am loving that she went for a sexy look as she really can pull it off.

Ever since Ashley Greene was taken under the wing of Donna Karan I think she has looked more like a leading lady, her acting skills have never been in question, but the red carpet moments for an actress really can make or break them and Ashley is killing it in this gorgeous gown.

I also think a special mention has to go to her hair and make-up team – her hair is lovely down, but wow to her dark lippy – seriously hot!!!

What do you think of Ashley’s latest Donna Karan look? Does it beat her white Grecian Met Gala gown or her feathered trimmed cocktail dress that she wore to the Country Music Awards? I would have to say this fuchsia beauty is right up there with her best looks!!!

Total Recall: A Week Of Glamour – Kate Beckinsale vs Jessica Biel

The Total Recall promo tour really has stepped up a gear since it hit Europe and both Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel have been using their star power to snag some of the most beautiful red carpet designed dresses I have seen in a long while. This week the stars of the Total Recall hit Berlin, Dublin and London and they really didn’t disappoint – two gorgeous Donna Karan gowns, an exquisite Elie Saab sparkler, a couple of Zac Posen dresses, and a standout feathered Giambattista Valli Couture look.

This has been one serious face-off this week between Kate and Jessica – see my favourite looks below and let me know who you think came out on top!!!

Kate Beckinsale:

For the LA premiere I hinted that I thought Kate had a new stylist due to her dramatic, high couture looks that she has been working, well it turns out that I am right and you will never guess who it is – only Taylor Jacobson, you know Rachel Zoe’s ex-assistant, I have to be honest I am seriously impressed with how she has styled Kate for this Total Recall promotional tour.

A week in which two amazing Donna Karan gowns grace the red carpet is always perfect, but wow to both, first up was a Barbie-pink dress from the Resort 2013 collection, it just oozes glamour with the architectural details to the bust and hips – similar to the dramatic Armani worn in LA but much more girlie and I love this hot-pink shade on her.

But it has to be the divine styling of her London premiere look that got me most excited this week. On its own this gorgeous black strapless gown with glitter sequinned details and a thigh-high split from the autumn/winter 2012 collection is incredible, style it with the bow belt from the pre-fall 2012 collection and it is simply breathtaking. I am seriously in love with this look!!!

I was also floored by her looks in Germany, first up was the demure purple Zac Posen dress for the photocall, and then she completely smashed it at the Berlin premiere in her ivory rose-swirl embellished Naeem Khan gown from the autumn/winter 2012 collection.

I can’t believe that these four looks all happened in one week, there were more a lot more, I had to narrow it down – as Kate also turned to designers Andrew GN, Preen, Paule Ka, and DVF for her after party and day-time looks.

Jessica Biel:

Jessica Biel has also been surprising me on this promo tour, maybe there is some rivalry over being the best dressed, as she really has stepped up her game.

The Couture looks from America continued to Europe and she went for one of my favourite looks from the Giambattista Valli spring 2012 couture collection for the London premiere. Everything about this look is completely flawless – I love the masculine vs feminine vibe of the look with the tuxedo-style shirt teamed with lace sleeves and a feather peplum. But seriously what makes this a standout look has to be the styling of the neon-pink Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels – LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Jessica has liked to go short on this promo tour, she wore Dior Couture in LA which fell just above her ankles, then there was Elie Saab Couture in New York, and it seems Europe is also seeing her legs as for the Dublin premiere she wore a strapless cream and gold Jacquard Zac Posen gown with a divine origami-style bodice from the autumn/winter 2012. Granted this isn’t my favourite of her looks but I included as I love that she has changed up her hair with a messy faux-bob.

I haven’t been as wowed by Jessica as I have been with Kate, but what I have loved is her more directional style, OK some of it she hasn’t quite pulled off but at least she has committed to it. For the Berlin photocall it was great to see her wearing another one of my favourite emerging designers Christian Cota, normally for a photocall stars go for Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, or DVF for there smart tailored dresses, I love that Jessica went for a fun summery look in this watercolour printed crop top and tiered skirt from the spring/summer 2011 collection.

My favourite of Jessica’s looks has to be the divine Elie Saab autumn/winter 2012 gown that she shimmered in for the Berlin premiere. This is high-glamour at its very best, I love the sparkles, I adore the open back, and I want her hair!!! Hot, hot, hot!!!

My Best Dressed:

It was hard to pick just one look each but I have decided to go for the two black sparklers, I am in love with the styling and glamour of both looks from Donna Karan and Elie Saab and both Kate and Jessica look incredible.

Which looks get your vote?

CMT Awards: Ashley Greene In Donna Karan Atelier

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: At the Country Music Awards 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee

Wearing: A pale pink Donna Karan Atelier cocktail gown with a feather trim and beaded embroidery detailing, teamed with gold Nicholas Kirkwood  heels

Verdict: I can’t think of a better fit for Ashley Greene, Donna Karan really has helped her standout on the red carpet in her gorgeous designs, I know that she is the current face of DKNY but I feel this ongoing collaboration is more than just advertising there is a real synergy between the two and I am loving the outcome.

This dress could have been a little too flapper and old-fashioned for me if it wasn’t for the subtle pale pink colour and the exquisite beaded embroidery. I am also loving the her layered hair and those amazing gold strappy Nicholas Kirkwood heels – they are the perfect finish for this dress.

Met Gala 2012: Ashley Green In Donna Karan Atelier

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: At the Met Gala 2012 in New York

Wearing: A custom-made white Grecian Donna Karan Atelier gown with silk chiffon pleats with draped beaded fringe made up of silver-lined bugles, and sea beads, and a stone encrusted sequin bustier; teamed with Jacob & Co. chandelier tassel earrings and flower diamond ring, and a metallic clutch

Verdict:  Last year Ashley Greene was one of my best dressed, and once again Donna Karan has done her proud with another exquisite gown, even better than last year. New York-based designer Donna Karan really has been on a roll of late, I loved Nina Dobrev’s gown, Cobie Smulders did just that at the Avenger’s premiere, and Alice Eve looked incredible, so I wasn’t surprised that Donna saved her best gowns for the biggest fashion event of the year.

Last year Ashley had a princess vibe about her with the intricate detailing and the fishbone train, this year she has a sultry feel to her look with this sexy-yet-feminine gown, which fits her perfectly and I love how she teamed the white with silver accessories, very chic and I love her hair down.

Who do you think look better Ashley or Nina?

Met Gala 2012: Nina Dobrev In Donna Karan Atelier

Who: Vampire Diaries Nina Dobrev

Where: At the 2012 Met Gala in New York

Wearing: A black and antique gold Donna Karan Atelier gown inspired by the Donna Karan devoré dress immortalised by Gwyneth Paltrow in the film Great Expectations. The asymmetrical draped gown has been modernised with silk chiffon and burnt out metal sequins and gold-lined beads, with single layer sequin straps to her back

Verdict: Wow, what a way to debut Donna Karan Atelier, the designer’s new high eveningwear collection, as Nina Dobrev looks stunning styled by Ilaria Urbinati. Just for the combination of the black and gold it will hit the best dressed lists, add in the beauty of that gorgeous train, the sexy back, and the feminine draped detailing to the bustier, and it is simply stunning.

When Nina hit the pink carpet there was a lot of traffic, but seriously all the photographers were shouting for her, as she looked completely radiant, and totally captured everyone’s attention. Also check out her gorgeous H.Stern earrings, they are so delicate and lovely, work perfectly with such a gorgeous dress.

Without a doubt Nina’s dress will be one of my best dressed of the night, I have been waiting to see it for weeks since I knew Donna Karan was dressing her, and I most certainly wasn’t disppointed, if anything I was blown away even further by the brilliance of Donna Karan.

What do you think are you loving Nina’s look?

The Raven: Alice Eve Shows Off Her Curves in Donna Karan

Who: Actress Alice Eve

Where: At the Los Angeles screening of her new flick The Raven

Wearing: A black belted calf-length Donna Karan cocktail dress from the pre-fall 2012 collection, with an asymmetric strap across her shoulders and a split to the pencil skirt; teamed with gold jewellery and blue suede Brian Atwood open-toe heels

Verdict: I love it when you get old-school Hollywood glamour on the red carpet with a modern twist it really does make me sit up and notice. I love the cut of the dress on her, fits perfectly and really accentuates her curves, which is nice to see. But what I love most has to be the usual asymmetric strap across her shoulders, on first glance it distracted me slightly, but when you take in the whole look with her foxy curves, her wavy blonde bob, those gorgeous bright blue heels and the gold ornate jewellery it totally works.

I am really loving that Donna Karan is getting a lot of red carpet action at the moment, I loved Christa Allen in a dress that reminds me of a fifties prom dress, and I was completely blown away by the amazing Cobie Smulder in that sexy bronze and black gown. Each gown completely different, but each one is very feminine and exquisitely made. I hope this Donna Karan trend continues as I am loving the variety on the red carpet.

Red Tie Affair: Christa Allen In Donna Karan

Who: Revenge actress Christa Allen

Where: At the annual American Red Cross Red Tie Affair in Los Angeles

Wearing: A strapless red Donna Karan dress with large pleating to the skirt and fan pleating to the bust from the pre-fall 2012 collection, teamed with a black studded belt and black pointed-toe heels

Verdict: Firstly, I love large pleats on a skirt, but what draws me in with this dress is the exquisite structured fan detailing to the bust – how amazing is that – for me it instantly adds drama and flair to a simple-yet-flattering silhouette and I love it. Add the studded belt and black heels and it adds a sophistication perfect for a charity gala, seriously one hot look.

The only thing I am not loving is the casual vibe to her hairstyle, I want to see her shoulders so the ruffle on the bust shines, but this is me just being extra picky – but the large earrings do make up for it!!!

Also if like me you have been waiting for the Revenge, which every American seems to be obsessed with as it centres around the Hamptons, it is coming to the UK later this year as E4 have bought the rights – I can’t wait!!!
