It has been a while since I have actually posted something on my blog that hasn’t had something to do with my wedding, sorry about that but I hope you understand that it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I just had to share. So, before I bombard you with photographs from my UK celebrations that fingers crossed you all want to see, I thought I would showcase this amazing editorial from the latest issue of Vogue Paris with real-life designer Barbie dolls.
I have many red carpet crushes – there is Diane Kruger, Kate Hudson, and Blake Lively to name a few, and the new Transformers’ star Nicola Peltz, who you may recognise from the TV Bates Motel, is the latest addition to my style crush list after seeing her first few outings promoting Transformers: Age of Extinction.
It must be hard following in the footsteps of bombshell Megan Fox and leggy model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as a Transformers’ babe but Nicola Peltz seems to be taking it in her stride with one flawless look after the other thanks to her amazing stylist Leslie Fremar, who also styles the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Charlize Theron, Scarlett Johansson and Jennifer Connelly.
Peltz has so far hit the red carpet in big names like Prada, Giambattista Valli, and Stella McCartney, not normally the pull of an up-and-coming star but the designer fashion houses must be pleased as she really has been proving that she is every bit the glamorous movie star. As well as being impressed with the range of designers she has been sporting, I have loved the variety in choices, you really can’t guess what this blonde bombshell will wear next.
First up for the Hong Kong premiere was the gorgeous icy blue organza Prada column gown, I adore the jewel-encrusted neckline and waist as well as the sexy cut-out detailing to the bodice. On some actresses this could have looked a little too provocative but on her it was just perfection and glamorous.
For the after party the actress did turn up the sex appeal wearing a super sexy lace-overlay Dolce & Gabbana skirt with a leather Alexander Wang crop top, the perfect after party look that was made even hottier by her flawless barely-there make-up. I think the only thing I would have change were the heels and gone for something strappy.
For the Hong Kong photocall, Peltz went for this slinky white Stella McCartney gown with wave detailing and a sheer hem from the pre-autumn/winter 2014 collection. I am not normally a fan of white heels but I like this white-on-white look.
My favourite red carpet look so far has to be this heavenly, ethereal Giambattista Valli couture gown that she wore to the Shanghai premiere. You can always count on Giambattista Valli for a show-stopping look and this gown is truly divine with its embroidered detailing, peplum and lace skirt. My only criticism is that this dreamy gown needed a bigger stage, like Cannes or an award ceremony or even a world premiere. But seriously that is me being picky as this is one gorgeous gown the silhouette is just striking.
It is hard to follow the Giambattista Valli but I think she could have done a lot better than this Saint Laurent black blazer and leather short combination that she wore to the Beijing premiere. Granted it does look good on her and I do love the red lippy I just wanted more. But saying that she made up for my disappointment at the New York premiere in this strapless shimmering blue Balenciaga gown. The column gown really goes look amazing on her, as does this vibrant hue against her blonde locks, I just wish I had a clearer picture of the back to show you as it really had gorgeous draped detailing.
It is so hard for up-and-coming actress to wow on the red carpet, it helps when you have a blockbuster like Transformers’ to pull in the big designer names, but I definitely think that Nicola Peltz is a star to keep an eye on and I can’t wait to see more amazing red carpet looks from her.

The MTV VMAs always produces a hit and miss red carpet – I either love looks or I hate them – but that’s what makes this one of the most fun music awards shows to watch. Everyone from Miley Cyrus to Lady Gaga turned out – there were feathers, leopard print, lots of flesh on show, one enormous feather train, some seriously sexy looks and looks that should never have been seen.
For me the best dressed of the night was easily the gorgeous Selena Gomez wearing Atelier Versace. I reckon this look might split opinion, but I love the exposed bustier, the studded detailing, and that hip-high split is the perfect finish for such a breathtaking look. Selena looks hot and I think it was a perfect look for the occasion.
One look that nearly took top spot was Teen Wolf’s Holland Roden who really took me by surprise in this stunning couture-esq look by designer Naeem Khan.
From the New York-based designer’s Resort 2014 collection, this look really stood out on the red carpet because of its incredible craftsmanship of the silver mirror beaded bateau-neck t-shirt teamed with a champagne silk faille open ballskirt over cigarette pants.
I really wasn’t expecting such a beautiful look at the VMAs, and some might say it was a little too much for an award show, but as an actress not a singer I think she totally gets away with it. For me Holland looks absolutely gorgeous and I love that she went for a bold red lip and a chic chignon – it really finishes off the look.
Miley is getting a lot of attention after her raunchy performance, I didn’t think it was any different to say Rihanna or Lady Gaga, but before she hit the stage the singer walked the red carpet in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana look. I saw a few people on twitter hating on this for looking like a scene out of the game Bejewelled – but I like how garish it is.
Another look that I loved had to be Rita Ora’s totally OTT Alexandre Vauthier feather baby-blue couture gown from the autumn/winter 2013 collection. This look was so over-the-top that it is best viewed in motion – check out MTV’s Instavid of the dress being repositioned for photographers – it literally takes three people to move it.
The last look I loved had to be singer Ciara who rocked a Givenchy Couture gown from the autumn/winter 2010 collection. This dress, which fitted her perfectly, was super sexy with its strategically placed beaded embroidery and glamorous with its feathered hemline. Not everyone could pull this revealing gown off – but Ciara’s body is incredible and I think she looks fabulous.
Who was your best dressed at last night’s MTV VMAs? Leave me a comment below to let me know who was your favourite – and your thoughts on Selena, Holland, Miley, Rita and Ciara’s looks.

Who: Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev
Where: At the 2013 Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California
Wearing: An exploded floral-print silk J.Mendel peplum top with matching slim trousers from the pre-fall 2013 collection, teamed with an orange Devi Kroell clutch, green Dolce & Gabanna shoes and Martin Katz earrings
Verdict: Nina Dobrev has been constantly getting it right on the red carpet lately and this is another stunning look from the young actress.
What I love about this look is that is fun, young, and not what I was expecting her to wear – normally the Teen Choice Awards are filled with cute dresses – but this J/Mendel pant suit is just divine – I am in love with the paint-splattered-floral print and the sexiness of the deep v-neckline to the top.
But what makes this look for me other than the fact it fits Nina perfectly has to be the styling – I love that the actresses long-standing stylist Ilaria Urbinati took colours from the splatter print and incorporated it into the accessories – especially that incredible orange patent Devi Kroell clutch.
I am really developing a girl crush on Nina’s red carpet looks – she always looks flawless and she was by far my best dressed at this year’s Teen Choice Awards.
