Fab Details: Gorgeous DKNY Garment Tags For The UK

I am a sucker for the details, whether it is a gorgeous print on the dress, the intricate embroidery on the collar, or in the case of DKNY the chic illustrations that will hang on each garment and accessory in UK department stores to identify its Limited Edition pieces.

I am assuming that these illustrations are from the fab Dallas Shaw who does a lot of work with DKNY especially her Twitter avatars,  as they just oozes the glamour and elegance of the brand. These beauties are frameable art in my opinion, oh and they are not helping with my dreams to be a fashion illustrator, if only I had these skills my blog would be extra pretty!!!

Selfridges and Harrods even have their own exclusive garment tags above, which are my two favourites – as well as the one below – that clutch is cute!!!

Winter Warmer: One Gerard Darel Coat – Three Celebrities

What do Emmy Rossum, Olivia Wilde and Katherine Heigl all have in common – other than the obvious choice of career? None other than this gorgeous Gerard Darel wool wrap coat – so chic isn’t it. A camel coat is a wardrobe staple, I am still looking to find my perfect match, but I do love the oversized lapels on this wool wrap.

The thing with the neutral camel shade is its versatility, which is shown here with their different looks, both Olivia and Katherine have opted for the casual look teaming the coat with jeans, knee-high boots and of course ever celebs favourite accessory, sunglasses. But for me I think Emmy has capture the elegance of this coat perfectly pairing it with her DKNY resort 2012 fuchsia skirt and top – the pop of colour really does compliment the coat perfectly.

After seeing these snaps I think I am going to have to hunt down my own camel coloured coat.

Buy Their Style: Priced at £435, this Geral Darel wool wrap coat is a great investment piece.

People’s Choice Award: Ashley Green In Custom DKNY

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: At the 2012 People’s Choice Awards, Los Angeles

Wearing: A custom made black lace and leather DKNY dress teamed with Brian Atwood shoes with embellished details on the heel

Verdict: Lets do the plus points: I love that she went for something a little racy, it is a little different for her; I love the combination of the lace and leather together; and the kick flare to the skirt is so her. However, the turtleneck and the sleeves just don’t work for me, if it was sleeveless with a plunging v-neck I think it would have looked more modern and youthful. I also think if she had done her hair up it would have worked better as well.

What do you think – do you like Ashley’s leather dress?

DKNY Jeans: Ashley Greene Unveils Billboard

Who: Ashley Greene

Where: Unveiling her new DKNY Jeans campaign on a double-decker bus through Times Square, New York

Wearing: As the face of the brand it would be silly to see her in anything other than head-to-toe DKNY, but with that showstopping red long-sleeved shearling jacket to choose from it is hardly a chore, she looks completely striking. Teamed with the colourful jacket, Ashley is working DKNY Jeans’ Soho fit, which I have been told are extremely comfortable and flattering.

Verdict: What caught my attention instantly, other than that striking ad campaign, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, which looks fresh, had to be that stunning jacket. I have seen a lot of shaggy jackets this season, but none as gorgeous as this, the colour against her brunette locks is just perfection.

Buy Her Style: It is a little pricey this dyed lamb skin shearling jacket at $1,959.99, but hey it is in the sale down from $2,800, and just think this jacket is an investment, will keep you warm and you will look fantastic. Now how do I whip up $2k?? That is a lot of eBay selling!!!

If like me this jacket is a little out of your price range, why not just settle for these dark rinse DKNY Soho jeans, priced $48.

Coming in 2012: I am a big fan of Ashley, not only does she always look so stylish, but she was made for the part of Alice Cullen in the Twilight series, and coming in 2012 she will be making a guest appearance in new favourite TV show, Pan Am. Ashley will be playing Amanda, an old flame of Ted – I can’t wait to see her all styled up in her Sixities outfit.

Gift Guide: For Bag Lovers

For my second gift guide I have decided to make it all about bags, basically because I adore handbags and these nine beauties are my favourite picks at the moment. Whether you are buying yourself a festive treat or you need to hint big time at your loved ones – these bags will make perfect gifts.

1. Rebecca Minkoff, Circle Quilt Casanova, $395, Rebeccaminkoff.com – I am a huge RM fan and I am lucky enough to have two of her bags, and on my regular scout of her site I saw this chic-yet-edgy quilted leather bag. Worried about postage? Well don’t as RM offers free delivery on orders over $300.

2. Osprey London, The Zambezi, £295, Ospreylondon.com – A great British brand and I love this jaguar-print cross body bag, for me this bag is all about that gorgeous vintage-inspired shape.

3. Tamzin Lillywhite, Boreas Back Pack£420 – a new brand to me, but with beauties like this I can soon imagine that Tamzin is going to become one of my favourite designers; also back packs are having a bit of a fashion revival so this sleek one is perfection.

4. Lollipops, Lascar Doobie, £69, lollipopsparis.co.uk – this is a cute bag, seriously what’s not to love about this wooly reindeer bucket-style bag?

5. Lulu Guinness Red Swarovski Crystallized Lips Clutch, £650, luluguinness.com – wouldn’t be a Christmas wish list without some festive LG lips now would it!!! I adore this iconic clutch – each year I keep my fingers cross that one appears under the Christmas tree.

6. Marc Jacobs, Lindy, £620, Harrods.com – the Lindy family of bags is new for autumn/winter 2011 and I just love this quilted shoulder bag, with its bow and stud detailing to the front, also this beauty would work during the day as well as night.

7. Mulberry Alexa Camera Bag, £650, Johnlewis.com – this bag has a 70s vibe about it and as with all Mulberry bags – think of this as an investment!!

8. Karen Millen, Crystal Clutch, £295, Selfridges – this seasonal sparkle is exclusive to Selfridges and the crystal-encrusted detailing and wristlet makes it a perfect party bag.

9. Bag Snob for DKNY, The Clutch, £175, Net-a-Porter.com – got to support blogger collaborations, especially when they are this good from Bag Snob founders Tina Craig and Kelly Cook who have designed an essential clutch. I just love this sequined leather number – a perfect evening choice.

In Pictures: FNO 2011 In London

I am not sure why I didn’t partake in Fashion’s Night Out last year, but wow was it my loss!!! This year I tagged along with blogger friends Alex Loves, Carina 100 and Kate from The Fabric of my Life, and we had a very ambitious schedule, here are the highlights of our FNO adventure.

First Stop – Seven Dials

It was always going to be a hard decision where to start when there is so much going on, but we decided on Seven Dials, and it was nice to see the lovely Kirsty from Three Pipe, who gave us all the most adorable goodie bag and guide to goings-on for the area. There was lots going on and we checked out Tatty Devine, lots of owl jewellery that I am in love with, and then popped across the street to celebrate Poste Mistress’ 10th birthday.

Loved the tea-cup cocktails and cupcakes.

They also did a scratch card competition to win a free pair of shoes, sadly I didn’t win and I would have loved picking a pair out as they have an amazing selection.

Liberty London – flower power

The sweetest treat of the night had to be this flower corsage from the Wild at Heart florists in Liberty’s, I loved mine and tied it to my bag when it started to droop. It is now looking a little sad on my desk this morning.

The London department store had the right idea getting the cocktails flowing early with the Mahiki Coconut bar. The lovely Alex and Kate enjoyed their pineapple surprise, while we all got into the Hawaiian spirit.

Reiss – best window

On our way to Tommy Hilfiger we passed by Reiss and I was mesmerised by their quirky window display filled with gold balloons and just a peek of clothing. More to celebrate their 40th birthday, but hey it looks good.

Tommy Hilfiger – the family portrait

One of the most fun events of the night had to be our dress-up fun in Tommy Hilfiger and then being snapped by the amazing Jackie Dixon from ShowMeYourWardrobe.com. I haven’t seen the final snap, I have refreshed their Facebook page a number of times this morning, but I can’t wait to see how well our sporty shot came off, I just love Alex the jock!!

Thomas Lyte – fashion flattery

My favourite bit of the night was thanks to the lovely girlies at Thomas Lyte as I got the opportunity to have a fashion illustration done of myself. The uber-talented Sasha Helim sketched such a beauty of me, super flattering and very cute and I am getting it framed at the weekend I love it that much. What do you think?

We also got to enjoy the most delicious mini cupcakes, which also constituted as my dinner!!!

DKNY – where the party was at!!!

Bond Street was definitely where the party was at for Fashion’s Night Out, and in a way I am glad it was our last stop of the night to be honest as I don’t think I would have stuck out the whole night if I had to deal with these crowds. Of course we couldn’t go to Bond Street and not stop in on our Twitter pal @DKNY, who was obviously in New York getting reading for the NYFW shows, but she was their in the London store via a huge Twitter screen, which made me very happy when my tweet was RTed.

I kind of fell in love with the balloons and was still pouting on the way home that I couldn’t have one!!

Can someone please buy me one of these cool signs? I am not fussy Cocktail or I ♥ NY, or both if you are feeling very generous!!!

From DKNY we were going to hit Alexander McQueen to play the key game, but was greeted by this huge queue, so we decided against it and instead just took in the party atmosphere of the street.

The window at Alexander McQueen was enough of a reason to stop by, simply gorgeous.

Tod’s went for a row of red Fiat’s outside their shop to ferry guests to the after party.

Barbie may have been in NY doing her bus-tour FNO but I found two Ken’s in the window of Daks London, quite surreal seeing live models, who might I add didn’t seem that pleased at me taking their piccie.

Dolce & Gabbana was closed when we got there but check out the window – I spy Beyonce’s dress from the cover of American InStyle.

Dior taking on DKNY in the battle of the taxis black cab vs yellow cab, love the addition of the double yellow line.

One of the most interesting sights was this Bangle Bowling outside Hermes, I have to admit I don’t have a clue what it was, looks like a horse box to me and an inside shot didn’t help me either. Did anyone have a go?

Street Style – snap of the night

I saw a lot of very interesting outfits, way too many leather shorts, super high heels, and even a model rushing through the crowd in a couture gown, but my favourite and possibly weirdest shot has to be this man walking through Seven Dials wearing a metal frame hat. As soon as I saw it I just had to take a snap. Strange or what??

Sad I didn’t get to

There was no Rupert Sanderson roller disco for me, no Stella McCartney badges, and no Net-a-Porter visit. But seriously there was so much to do, so many people around, I can’t believe how much we actually did – such an amazing night.

Did you do FNO? Do let me know what your best moment of the night was – especially if you were somewhere other than London.

My New Scent: DKNY Golden Delicious

I am a bit of a fragrance junkie, I love perfume bottles and the excitement I get when I find a new one that not only do I like the look of but love the scent. My latest obsession, thanks to the wonderful PR team at The Perfume Shop, is DKNY’s latest fragrance Golden Delicious.

I have always loved the apple bottles, they are quirky and fun, and if you have a whole set I bet they look glorious together. There really is something for everyone, whether it is the classic green Be Delicious for Women, or the feminine pink of Fresh Blossom, and one of my favourites bottles has to be the seduction purple of Delicious Night.

Now that I have Golden Delicious, with its refreshing top notes of orange flower water and mirabelle plum, its zesty scent has become the fragrance of my summer. If I wasn’t already in love with this gold beauty I certainly would have been as soon as I saw this gorgeous campaign fronted by Lara Stone, she is absolutely stunning in this shot.

Golden Delicious goes on sale August 22, and comes in 30ml (£32), 50ml (£46) and 100ml (£64).
