Wedding Inspiration: The Princess Couture Bride

My wedding is coming up in three months, I already have my two gowns **I know I am greedy**, and generally most details are sorted but that doesn’t mean I don’t swoon over dramatic couture bridal gowns like this one designed by Ralph & Russo.

I think all girls dream of a fairy tale princess dress like this, why wouldn’t you it is simply beautiful, it’s the dress you wish for a lottery win, a sugar daddy or a fairy godmother. I don’t know how much a gown like this would cost, a lot for sure, especially as it took 3,900 hours to do all the hand embroidery – details like that not only make this one special gown but one with a hefty price tag.

But it’s the details of this dress that I truly adore, the 40 different types of beads, the 25 different Swarovski crystal designs, the 6 metre train, and the fact that it needed the help of 5 male models to help the beautiful Hanna Ben Abdesslem turn on the runway.

I just can’t express how exquisite I think this couture bridal gown is, I love everything from the luxurious embroidery to the volume in the skirt and the hand-printed Chantilly-lace effect, I think it is because it marries the modern and traditional bride so well. Now where is my fairy godmother when I need her!!!

To really see the beauty of this gown watch the short film below, the couture bridal gown really shimmers and those details really shine through. Love, love, love it – now this is a wow bridal dress. I am already jealous of the bride who gets to get married in this beauty.

Do you love Ralph & Russo’s couture bridal gown as much as I do?

Golden Globes 2013: Jennifer Lawrence In Dior Haute Couture

Jennifer Lawrence, Dior

Who: Golden Globe-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence

Where: At the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A strapless coral organza Dior Haute Couture gown featuring a structured bustier and metal belt from the autumn/winter 2012 collection, teamed with Chopard jewellery and Brian Atwood heels

Verdict: It wasn’t a surprise that the Silver Linings Playbook winner chose Dior, she is the upcoming face of the Miss Dior campaign, but I was surprised for the Dior ball gown she went for, but I am pleased she went for the coral number than the yellow she said she was considering on the red carpet coverage.

I am pleased that she went for such a vibrant colour, the coral red looked stunning on the red carpet, but what stole this look for me had to be the Madonna-inspired structured bustier, I actually liked the modern twist to the gown. I also adored how the gown really showed off her tiny waist, which was emphasised by the addition of the metal belt – such a great piece of styling.

Finishing off her look was a gorgeous selection of Chopard jewellery, Jennifer wore a pair of round-cut diamond drop earrings, a rose-cut white diamond cocktail ring set in platinum, and a pink diamond cocktail ring set in 18-carat white gold. They were the perfect addition to a gorgeous look.
