Cover Loving: Diane Kruger In Hugo Boss For Vogue Germany

I do love a magazine cover that portrays movement, it always makes it more striking and appealing, and this is one gorgeous cover from Diane Kruger for Vogue Germany’s July 2014 issue.

Captured by Camilla Akrans, who always seems to impress me, Diane Kruger really does make a fairly boring sequinned top and skirt ensemble from Hugo Boss’ autumn/winter 2014 collection, the first designed by Jason Wu look amazing. It just shows what styling, setting and movement can do for a piece of clothing.

I also think the fresh pastel pink colour helps this cover, it really shimmers nicely, and I love the fun pose from Diane and how they’ve made the Vogue letters all quirky. I also have to say her hair slicked back and minimal make-up just add to the charm of this cover.

You might also be thinking that the look seems a little familiar to you, well that will be because Diane wore something very similar to the Met Gala, I really think if her Met Gala dress had been in this cute girlie colour it would have stood out more.

What do you think – are you a fan of Diane Kruger’s latest magazine cover?

Peabody Awards: Diane Kruger In Giambattista Valli Couture

Who: Diane Kruger

Where: At the Peabody Awards, held at The Waldorf-Astoria in New York City

Wearing: A pink floral structured Giambattista Valli Couture dress, featuring a longer ruffle skirt to the back from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with mint-coloured heels and a gold bracelet

Verdict: Check out those legs, Diane Kruger isn’t shy about rocking a shorter hemline but she doesn’t do it that often, and this is one gorgeous and fashion-forward take on the high-low silhouette with that ruffle skirt on the back of the dress.

What I love about this Giambattista Valli Couture dress, other than the fab pink floral print and ruffle train, which is kind of perfect for a spring event, has to be the structured detailing to the front as it adds something a little different to this mini dress.

As always Diane finishes her look with the perfect choice of accessories, keeping the jewellery to a minimum and going for a gorgeous pair of mint-coloured heels, and then adding a nice fuchsia hue to her lips.

Met Gala 2014: My Best Dressed List

So I have already shared with you the battle of the pink, well it seemed wrong being a Barbie girl not to dedicate a whole post to my favourite shade, well here is my best dressed list, which was actually hard to narrow down as I thought this year’s Met Gala honouring Charles James was exquisite.

Best Dressed #1 – Blake Lively

Has to be Blake Lively for me, as the face of Gucci Première it wasn’t a surprised that she turned to the Italian fashion house for the Met Gala, and I am thrilled that it was so old Hollywood as this is when she really is at her best. Adorned with more than one million paillettes, this custom silk chiffon blush Gucci Première gown was hands down one of my favourite of the night.

I loved how it was dramatic with the cape-like train, sexy with the plunging neckline and nipped in waist, as well as being delicate in the colour and the embellishments. Add to that her gorgeous choice of statement Lorraine Schwartz jewels, her signature side-swept waves and her arm candy for the night hubbie Ryan Reynolds, who looked pretty dapper in a Gucci Made to Order midnight blue velvet Signoria tuxedo, and it makes for a stunning look.

#2 – Karolina Kurkova

I love that the Met Gala always brings out the models onto the red carpet, each year they always wearing the most daring and striking looks, and this year was no different with Karolina Kurkova in this dramatic custom Marchesa ballgown – the structure of the dress and the floral print makes this a work of art and so very Charles James and I adore it. Add the $1 million worth of Harry Winston diamonds that she is wearing and this became a look to beat.

#3 – Amy Adams

Amy Adams really has been on a roll this year with her red carpet looks, her award season was near flawless and this metallic Oscar de la Renta is another incredible look. From the autumn/winter 2014 collection this gown wasn’t custom like most of the other looks but it sure as hell looked like it was made specifically for her. The fit of this strapless gown is impeccable – I love the heart-shaped neckline, the ruched waistline and the dramatic train – and those David Webb earrings really do finish off the look.

#4 – Dita Von Teese

Wow, wow, wow. If ever there was a time for Zac Posen to shine it was at a Charles James themed red carpet, his use of drama and structure was made for this year’s Met Gala and my favourite of his looks was this fun and exquisitely crafted pale pink mermaid gown worn by Dita Von Teese. OK, so I am a little obsessed with the burlesque star but come on doesn’t she look incredible. I love how her use of red in her lippy and clutch really plays up the red hem detailing of the gown. I love this look.

#5 – Charlize Theron

It was hard to select this final spot, thank god I had already done the pink beauties, but I think Charlize Theron in her monochrome Dior Couture gown paired with a tuxedo jacket thrown over her shoulders was just a divine way to honour the White Tie & Diamonds dress code. I’ve made no secret that I love women in tuxedos, I just love it when women rock menswear looks while still being feminine and for me Charlize strikes the right balance here by pairing the tux jacket with a gorgeous flowing dress and those statement Fred Leighton earrings. Gorgeous from head-to-toe, but then again isn’t she always!!!

Honorary Mention – Diane Kruger

I couldn’t miss out my girl crush – Diane Kruger. So her look might not have been one of my favourites, I just felt her embellished ice-white Hugo Boss beauty didn’t stand out as much as some of the other gowns. It was gorgeous though, I especially loved the pleated overlay, the styling of her complementary pearl-white clutch and her forties-style chignon was one of the best hairstyles of the night. Oh and she did have the best arm candy in Joshua Jackson who looked great in a Hugo Boss suit.

Red Carpet: Diane Kruger In Roland Mouret

Who: Actress Diane Kruger

Where: At the 18th Annual City Of Lights, City Of Angels Film Festival at Directors Guild Of America in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A black Roland Mouret ‘Tabit’ jumpsuit featuring a contrasting white neckline from the Resort 2014 collection, teamed with a stripped oversized clutch, blue polka-dot heels and a shearling-lined denim coat

Verdict: Normally I don’t question what Diane Kruger wears, basically it is always perfection, however this look is only 95% there for me and it is all because of that denim jacket.

The jumpsuit I adore, it is chic and modern, especially when you see the sculptured neckline of the Roland Mouret piece, and I love that she turned up the hem to show off her ankles and those amazing pointy-toe polka-dot heels.

But for me the denim jacket just overwhelms the look and kind of takes away from the flattering fit of the jumpsuit. All I can think of is that she was cold – there is no other reason I can think of to keep this jacket on to walk the red carpet!!!

What I will say is that her hair and make-up as always didn’t let her down – simply flawless and her shoes are incredible.

Shop her Style: You can pick up Diane’s Roland Mouret ‘Tabit’ stretch-crepe jumpsuit at Net-a-Porter for £1,395.

What do you think – are you on board with this look?

Vanity Fair Oscar Party: Diane Kruger In Valentino & Jaeger-LeCoultre

VF-Party-Diane-KrugerWho: Diane Kruger

Where: At the Vanity Fair Oscar Party 2014 in West Hollywood, California

Wearing: A sheer lace Valentino Couture gown featuring cape detailing and three-quarter sleeves from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with black heels, a black beaded clutch and her Jaeger-LeCoultre watch

Verdict: It is Diane Kruger’s ability to bring something different to the red carpet that I missed her from the main event. The actress is like a chameleon she never really goes for the same thing twice and really takes fashion risks that nearly always come off.

This gorgeous Valentino Couture was a look that wowed me and really shows that the Vanity Fair party does bring out the best fashion on the night, the stars can be a little more edgy and sexy and this dress has that and more going for it.

There aren’t many actresses that could pull off this vampy elegant look, I think this is where her model body really works well as she can take something from the runway to the red carpet with ease. I know some people won’t like this look, which makes me go why the hell not, because I absolutely love the decadence and texture of the gown and styling.

As well as wearing a fab dress, the actress went for an intricate braided look done by hairstylist Kylee Heath using Morroccanoil products, which was easily one of the best hairdo’s of the night. It is sweet, charming, while still complimenting the edgy, sexy sheer dress.

I know I am bias, I am a little obsessed with Diane Kruger, but this is one flawless look.

Berlin Film Festival: Diane Kruger In Elie Saab

Who: Diane Kruger

Where: Attending the ‘The Better Angels’ premiere at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival

Wearing: A white long-sleeve crew-neck Elie Saab gown, featuring a sheer skirt and teamed with a skinny leather belt all from the pre-autumn/winter 2014 collection

Verdict: Normally when writing about Diane Kruger’s red carpet looks I am writing about her effortless styling, the bold prints, or the show-stopping factor of her edgy choice, well a first for me I am gushing over how much I love her minimalist look in this gorgeous Elie Saab gown.

Not only is this look not the norm for Diane it has to be said that this isn’t the usual Elie Saab gown that you see on the red carpet, usually it is embroidered with sparkles, but I love this change of pace with a gown that is both ethereal and sexy, plus it shows that white can be worn on the red carpet without it looking too bridal.

Iif it wasn’t for the long-sleeves I am not sure this look would have had as much impact with me but I love how covering up the top half of the gown balances out the sheer panels of the skirt.

As well as loving the gown, I have to say I love her vibrant red lippy and her hair sweeped to the side – simply chic – I love it!!!

Hollywood Stands Up To Cancer: Diane Kruger In Erdem

Who: Diane Kruger

Where: At the ‘Hollywood stands up to Cancer’ event in California

Wearing: A floral silk Erdem jumpsuit from the resort 2014 collection, teamed with a Charlotte Olympia ‘Pandora’ Perspex clutch with a pink inlay and pastel-blue heels

Verdict: Well, we all know that I don’t think Diane Kruger can do any wrong, but come on when she keeps looking this good is it a wonder why. I love, love, love this Erdem ‘Vala Eames’ jumpsuit from the resort 2014 collection, the dark garden print is divine and is perfect for the red carpet.

We’ve seen Diane rock jumpsuits before, do you remember the Jason Wu – the lace detailing was gorgeous, but this silk version from Erdem is romantic, elegant and feminine – I just love the sheer organza panels to the top and sleeves.

If the outfit wasn’t enough, Diane continues to really know how to wear bright accessories – I love the pastel-blue heels that match the floral print and the pop of pink with her Charlotte Olympia clutch.

I love this look from head to toe.

Are you a fan of Diane’s colourful styling?
