AW11 Press Day: Very.co.uk

A while back I went by Very’s fashion street to check out its autumn/winter 2011 collections and I liked what I saw. First up, I have to give them credit for an amazing set up, I love the Banksy stickers on the walls, the street sign, the lights, park bench and the oversized chess pieces, a lot of thought went into this press day and I loved it.

My partner-in-crime Alex was also with me and I just couldn’t resist this picture, at the heart of Very City!!!

What surprised me most about this collection had to be the shoes, if you haven’t check out Very.co.uk when it comes to footwear then you should as for autumn/winter they have some gorgeous pieces. I love these boots with their chunky laces and shearling detailing, they will certainly keep you warm, also the hiking boot-style doesn’t seem to be going away for winter.

They also have a great selection of killer heels, I adore these raspberry laced peep-toe wedges, oh if only I could walk in them!!

As always the Fearne Cotton collection was impressive and I think her best yet. Of course once again it is based primarily on her wardrobe and what she would wear, but come on with style like hers I don’t blame her. I was particularly drawn to this checked cape, I love the orange as well as the lace collar detailing, and worn over skinny jeans and chunky boots this will look amazing.

My other favourite piece was this shift dress with its buckle detailing to the shoulders and its blue check skirt.

Very’s newest designer collaborator Diana Vickers line was also on display, and I love the Miu Miu-inspired lilac v-neck shift with flower appliques to the pockets.

Dots sticking around for autumn/winter in a big way.

I was quite taken with the blouses and the prints, I love this mustard shirt looks great styled with skinny flares, as well as this bird print teamed with country-chic pieces.

Introducing: Dee V by Diana Vickers at Very.co.uk

Yellow Top, £29 and Bird Print Skirt, £40

I think Diana Vickers was always destined to put her name to a fashion collection as she is known for her unique sense of style. The X Factor starlet has teamed up with Very.co.uk, the people behind the fantastic collection from Fearne Cotton, and her debut capsule line Dee V by Diana Vickers at Very.co.uk consists of eight pieces and has a great mixture of dresses, playsuits, jeans and tops.

The line launches at Very.co.uk this week on May 20, with prices starting at £20 for a grey tee to £99 for the statement piece in the collection a multicoloured sequinned mini dress (below).

Sequin Dress, £99

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with this collection. I love that it has a sense of her quirky personality, with blossom, bird and dog prints, and a vintage vibe to the dresses and jeans. For a debut capsule collection it really has a great mixture of glamour and casual and it does leaving me wanting more. I am telling you this line is sure to be a success.

“It is fun with a sophisticated twist. It’s full of unique prints and gorgeous colours. It is important to me that people will look at the collection and see that it has come from me.” Diana Vickers.

Dogprint playsuit, £49

My favourite piece has to be this cool playsuit, I love the dog print and even though this line is for spring/summer this will work through to autumn/winter just pair with tights and a boyfriend-style cardigan. I also love the Blossom Print dress with its contrasting collar and sixties vibe.
