LONDON show ROOMS LA: Christa B. Allen In David Koma

Who: Christa B. Allen

Where: At the LONDON show ROOMS LA launch held at the Mondrian’s Skybar

Wearing: A nude and orange honeycomb print David Koma dress from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with lace-up ankle boots and black bracelets

Verdict: Oooh Christa is a cutie, I love, love, love this David Koma mini on her, very age-appropriate, sporty and sexy – not forgetting that she looks incredible in it. I do love it when Hollywood actresses wear London Fashion Week designers and I adored David Koma’s spring/summer 2013 collection so I am glad it is already getting red carpet action.

As much as I love the dress, her pop of colour on her lips, I can’t get on board with those lace-up ankle boots they just don’t work for me – I wish she had gone for the strappy catwalk heels.

But even with that tiny blip I love this look – well from the ankle up!!!

What do you think of the Revenge stars look?

People’s Choice Awards: Miley Cyrus In David Koma

Who: Miley Cyrus

Where: At the 2012 People’s Choice Awards, Los Angeles

Wearing: A white David Koma dress from his spring/summer 2012 collection, which features a sheer mesh plunging neckline, draped fabric, and the skirt has sheer panels and colourful futuristic embellishments. Miley paired her fashion-forward dress with metallic pink Jimmy Choo heels and a silver Marchesa clutch.

Verdict: Last time I featured David Koma was when Cheryl Cole wore one of his tops to a party in London, and it makes me happy that Disney starlet Miley has put the London Fashion Week designer into the Hollywood spotlight as he totally deserves it.

For me, Miley was the best dressed at this week’s People’s Choice Awards, her only competition came from stars who also decided that London Fashion Week designers were best, and I have to admit it was close between her and Ginnifer Goodwin who stunned in a Roksanda Ilincic dress.

What I love the most is that Miley worked something that was sexy with the plunging neckline but a refined sex appeal with the mesh panelling. I think in the past Miley has all been about tight-fitting, revealing and at types a little tacky. Maybe she has a new stylist, maybe she has matured a little, or maybe she just loved the futuristic vibe of this dress – whatever happen I am pleased as this dress and designer deserve the attention. Roll on more a-list celebrities wearing David Koma!!!

HTC Beats: Cheryl Cole In David Koma

Cheryl Cole's photo I'll be rocking them BEATS! Yup yup yup yup!
Who: Cheryl Cole

Where: At the HTC Sensation XL launch event at The Roundhouse in London

Wearing: A David Koma silk polka dot top with leather trim around the arms from his autumn/winter 2011 collection, teamed with a pair of leather leggings and matching pointy heels and red lippy

Verdict: There to support her manager and close pal Will.i.am, Chezza looked amazing and relaxed in this stunning David Koma top and those skin-tight leather leggings.

It has been a great week for Cheryl to get out and about with the live shows starting on the X Factor this Saturday; I loved her in the blush pink floor-length Victoria Beckham gown at the Pride of Britain Awards and her Moschino look to catch Shrek the Musical, but last night was a cool and casual Cheryl and she just looked amazing. Even going casual all eyes were on her and it was nice to see a confident Cheryl.

Also I am loving her hair – it is cute!!

LFW SS12: David Koma by Ella Shippey

Held in the awe-inspiring backdrop of the disused Eurostar platform at Waterloo station, the ceiling of which still bearing the discarded helium balloons from the earlier Meadham Kirchhoff show. If Koma is known for that dinner/breast plate dress Cheryl Cole wore on the X Factor, his spring/summer 2012 show will go some way to eradicating this slightly unfortunate association.

Set to a thumping African beat, models stomped down the catwalk in tribal print devore body suits, accompanied by butter-soft, shredded leather pencil skirts inspired by the unusual combination of African zulu skirt and traditional Scottish kilt.  The colour scheme of white and black was accented with flashes of citrus, fuchsia and ice blue in belts and on cuffs.
If this LFW has been mostly about the skirt, then Koma flew the flag for the trouser. Fluid flared shapes in white and citrus elongated the leg and looked fresh in a sea of body-con dresses and skater skirts.
Reverting to type, the latter half of the collection showed the Sci-Fi styling we recognise from his previous collections. Iridescent Perspex tubes, created in a collaboration with jewellery designer Sarah Angold, formed peplums and trimmed hems. All of which combined to create a futuristic 3-D aesthetic, fit for an intergalactic Aztec warrior woman…or TV talent show panellist.
