SS13 Campaign: Versace Does Post Apocalyptic Glamour

Versace-SS13-ad-1So according to the Mayans the world was suppose to end today, I forgot all about it, but Versace obviously decided to do their own version of what an apocalypse would look like, and of course it would be glamorous and filled with half-naked gladiators.

For the spring/summer 2013 campaign, shot by Mert & Marcus, Versace has brought together three iconic models Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Joan Smalls and each one looks absolutely hot – especially Kate who is being flanked by three very hunky gladiators, Edward Wilding, Kacey Carring and Veit Couturier.

Of the campaign, Donatella Versace said:

“To have three glamorous and iconic women like Kate, Daria and Joan in one campaign is not an easy feat. Mert and Marcus really outdid themselves, each image is composed like a work of art.”

This is one steamy campaign that I am sure for some will be a little too fake, or photoshopped, but come what do you expect from Versace – these images are so on brand for me and I love them – they are OTT, striking, and so, so sexy.

What do you think of Versace’s spring/summer 2013 campaign?

Cover Loving: Kate, Lara and Daria All Wear The Same Dress For New Look Vogue Paris

I had been wondering how long it would take Emmanuelle Alt to place her own stamp on Vogue Paris it has been a staggering 18-months since she succeeded Carine Roitfeld as editor in chief and it seems she wanted to wait for a September issue to showcase a new fresh vibe for one of my favourite magazines.

The new cleaner, airier layout, with remodelled typography has taken its inspiration from Vogue Paris’ look in the Sixties and Seventies, I have a number of vintage Vogue Paris magazines from then and I am excited to see it in print.

To launch the new look Vogue Paris the magazine has shot three collectors’ covers, featuring three supermodels Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy and Lara Stone, all snapped by Mert & Marcus, all wearing the same Dolce & Gabbana black dress, and all sporting the same slicked back hair and red lippy – yep identical covers. So basically it is a fashion face-off between Kate, Daria and Lara to see who can wear the dress best!!!

Vogue Paris September issue hits newsstands on August 23 – I think I will be reaching for Lara’s cover – what about you?

Beauty: Betty Boop “Just say it with the eyes”

Oooh my favourite animated screen siren, after Jessica Rabbit, Betty Boop is starring in Lancome’s latest short film with model Daria Werbowy, and she is teaching the Polish beauty a thing or two about acting and apparently it is all in the eyes.

I have to be honest I always wanted Jessica Rabbit’s curvaceous figure, but come on I can’t be the only one who wanted Betty Boop’s incredible eyelashes, so really she is the perfect star for Lancome’s new mascara, Hypnose Star.

This is a cute film directed by Joann Sfar, I love that you see a different side of model Daria, I am not going to lie acting isn’t her strongest attribute, but she really is charming alongside Betty Boop, who just looks stunning in her trademark little black dress look with her garter on show, not looking bad for an 82 year-old!!!!

Do you reckon using Lancome’s Hypnose Star I can finally achieve my dreams of Betty Boop lashes? I sure hope so, check out the film below and let me know what you think.

AW10: Yves Saint Laurent – Manifesto VI

Yves Saint Laurent is back with its seventh edition of its Manifesto for autumn/winter 2010, featuring the gorgeous Daria Webowy. This season it is making its debut in New York on September 14, before its worldwide release in Paris, London, Milan, Tokyo, Hong Kong and new to the schedule Beirut on September 18.

As with each manifesto the first 2,000 lucky people in each city will get their clutches on the collectable white canvas tote designed by Stefano Pilati, and apparently this season there is a YSL wristlet inside – OMG I have to get my hands on this. Luckily it is during LFW so fingers crossed I will be in the right place at the right time.

But don’t worry if you can’t get to one of the cities, or don’t get one on the day as this season’s manifesto will also be available to download after September 18 from the website.

Those who manage to grab a copy in each city *please, please let it be me* are being invited to take pictures of themselves with their spoils and submit them to the website, to be in with a chance of making it into the manifesto’s gallery and on its Facebook page.

Anyone else counting down the days?
