Hot Trend: Colour Blocking – Dress Alert

It seems that the high street has taken inspiration from the runway shows of Gucci, Prada, Christopher Kane, Prada, Diane Von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs and embraced colour blocking. The high street is full of juicy colour palettes of rainbow shades, simple silhouettes, and has a wow factor, which is perfect for summery conditions.

For maximum impact be brave and wear the look head-to-toe, go for hot pinks, tangerine, yellow and blues; also considering mixing shades – how about electric blues with summery yellows; reds soothed with greens; or my personal favourite Barbie pinks teamed with vibrant oranges.

However, if like me you need to work up to full on colour blocking, how about just doing pops of colour with your jewellery and accessories. Try a neon belt with a little black dress, or go for a bright pop shade on your nails to clash with your dress.

3. Miss Selfridge, colourblock bengaline dress, £38 – this is the sexy colour blocking frock, not sure I could quite pull it off, but if you’ve gone it you so have to flaunt it in this!!

4. Warehouse, colour block wrap dress, £60 – this is when 70s meets colour blocking in such a good way, this is a way to embrace the trend without having to go for bright shades but yet still allowing you to look glamorous
