Video Loving: No Way Is Claudia Schiffer 41

I have already gushed about my love for the GUESS girls and I have to give it to Claudia Schiffer she puts models half her age to shame as she looks gorgeous in this 30th anniversary video for the brand. I am seriously questioning her age, there is no way that she can be 41, she looks stunning in this campaign, and I even think she looks better than she did in 1989 when she first modelled for GUESS.

Under the creative eye of Paul Marciano, CEO and Creative Director of GUESS and directed by the amazingly talented Ellen von Unwerth, this is one sexy and fun video shot on location in Sorrento, Italy. I am loving Claudia, normally I have to be honest I haven’t been that fussed by her, but in this video she is truly memorizing.

What do you think? Does Claudia look 41 to you??

Guess Girls: 30 Years Of Great Campaigns

2012 - 30 Sexy Years shot by Ellen von Unwerth

So Guess turns 30 this year and with the Claudia Schiffer taking the reins of the brand’s latest campaign, 23 years after originally posing for the label, it got me thinking about all the other Guess Girls over the years. This is a brand with clout, they’ve had more supermodels Naomi Campbell and Eva Herzigova back in the early 90’s, they’ve had actresses Drew Barrymore, Charlize Theron and the most recently Amber Heard, they had an unrecognisable Anna Nicole Smith starring in a number of sultry campaigns, and they even had ads with party girl Paris Hilton back in 2004, oh and a 16-year-old Carla Bruni was the third Guess Girl in 1987.

As well as famous faces, Guess also love a good model from the gorgeous French model Laetitia Casta to Josie Maran who starred in one of my favourite campaigns, to a number of models who have gone onto become Victoria Secret’s angels Alessandra Ambrosio and Adriana Lima, and in recent years we have had Line Gost, Elsa Hosk, Irina Shayk, and Alyssa Miller.

Two decades later, Claudia Schiffer shot once again by Ellen von Unwerth, works the ’30 sexy years’ campaign for the anniversary collection, which comprises of 15 pieces inspired by the brand’s archive, updated with a modern twist. The capsule line will include high-waisted denim cigarette pants, lace bustier, and vintage tie-waist button-down tops.

1992/3 - Anna Nicole Smith shot by Daniela Federici

How unrecognisable is Anna Nicole?? She was such a gorgeous model.

2011/2 - Amber Heard shot by Ellen von Unwerth

As well as propelling the careers of many models, the iconic Guess campaigns have been shot by some of the best in the business, most notably Ellen von Unwerth, a former model who was just starting out when she shot for Guess, and Wayne Maser who captured the first campaign back in 1983. There has been the legendary Herb Ritts, Australian photographer Daniela Federici, Chuck Goodenough, Dewey Nicks, Pablo Alfaro, Raphael Mazzuccco, Yu Tsai, and even Bryan Adams snapped a number of Guess campaigns.

1998 - Josie Maran shot by Pablo Alfaro

I think this is one of my favourite campaigns, not only does Josie look gorgeous, but I love how simple the imagery is yet it still have the sexy Guess vibe to it.

2011 - Elsa Hosk shot by Ellen von Unwerth

2008 - Fransizka Frank shot by Bryan Adams

2007 - Line Gost shot by Bryan Adams

1987 - Carla Bruni shot by Wayne Maser/ 2006 - Paris Hilton shot by Ellen von Unwerth

These last two have to be the most bizarre for me, mainly because I forget that Carla Bruni was a model, and secondly Paris Hilton really does stand-out for all the wrong reasons as a Guess Girl, but apparently they were going for over-the-top young Hollywood glamour, still I don’t think this is a highlight of the 30 years!!!

Do you have a favourite Guess Girl?

Bag Lust: The Loewe Flamenco Handbag

It seems I am not the only one who loves a Loewe bag, celebrities including Claudia Schiffer, Jessica Alba and Daisy Lowe, have been spotted carrying the bright and funky Flamenco handbags.

This Nappa leather bag is a reissue of the 80s classic and I just love how it stands out from the crowd with its rainbow pop colours. I love the extra-large tassels, the strap that allows it to be worn as a shoulder bag or cross-body, plus the fact that it comes it two sizes, the large one is perfect for all my daily needs.

It does however seem to be the celebrity ‘it’ bag of the moment though, even Aussie pop star Kylie was seen carrying the Candy coloured one in London recently, the same one that Daisy Lowe has. I love the dual-tone of this bag – as soon as I saw it I was thinking that Barbie and Mattel need to hook up with Loewe as they would make a great accessories pack for my favourite doll!!

I think my favourite is the yellow one, yep I am following the lead of Claudia Schiffer, Ashley Greene and Emily Blunt, who all have this stunning bag.

There is one catch though this beauty is over 1,000 Euros, to be exact the Flamenco 22 is 1,200 Euros and the Flamenco 30 is 1,400 Euros. I’ve already added it to my wishful thinking Christmas list to Santa!!!

So, which is your favourite?

Fashion Fringe: Claudia Schiffer In Basso and Brooke

Who: Supermodel and Fashion Fringe 2011 judge Claudia Schiffer

Where: At the Fashion Fringe 2011 final at 8 Northumberland Avenue, London

Wearing: A colourful Basso & Brooke printed mini dress from their Fashion Fringe winning collection from 2004, nipped in at the waist with a black belt and teamed with gold jewellery and a black clutch

Verdict: It was such a great night and weirdly I had been discussing with the Fashion Fringe PR on whether or not Claudia would wear a former winner, and she did. Claudia was super nice to chat to and was very informative on the dress telling me it was from Basso & Brooke’s winning collection from back in 2004. My picture obviously don’t do the dress or Claudia justice, but you can certainly see why they won that year!!!

LFW SS12: The Winner Of Fashion Fringe 2011 Is Fyodor Golan!!

Wow, what a night I had last night, I got to see the amazing Fyodor Golan scoop the coveted Fashion Fringe prize, joining the likes of Basso & Brooke, Erdem, Jena.Theo and last year’s winner Corrie Nielsen, and oh did they deserve it. I had the pleasure of meeting all three finalists a couple of weeks ago and I really took a shine to the lovely Golan Frydman and Fyodor Podgorny, and even though on paper I think Nabil Nayal was seen as the favourite, these were the guys I was rooting for.

I had only seen a sneak peek at the collection before the night, but thanks to Fashion Fringe and Very, one of the night’s sponsors, I got to take a backstage tour *more on this in another post – coming soon* before the catwalk show. I was in awe at the detailing of not only of the clothing, which is exquisite but also the thought they had put into their models, running order and the fabulous make-up and styling of the collection.

First down the catwalk and was always the one to beat, everything from the dramatic styling of the hair coming over the models faces into chunky neck braces, to the impressive music, and most of all the show-stopping value of every single piece. The detailing in the texture, silhouette, and the vision; as the show was entitled ‘Flowers of Evil’ and was about the nymph’s painful metamorphosis they even used a more mature model, who strutted her stuff wonderfully.

My favourite dress of the night, which I loved backstage and looked even nicer on the catwalk was this white beauty, with mesh panelling and flower like embellishments, the detailing and the structure of the dress around the hips is just divine and the model looked amazing.

Another strong feature of the collection was the embellished spine detailing down the back of the dresses, I love this floor-skimming gown with its high neck collar and train.

Fyodor Golan with the gorgeous Claudia Schiffer and fellow judge Roland Moret and their Fashion Fringe trophy designed by Jessica McCormack.

It is hard to believe that Fyodor Golan only launched in 2010, they are such a creative design team that I they were such worthy winners, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them as it can be good!!!

Thanks again to Fashion Fringe and Very.co.uk for being such amazing hosts, I felt a very lucky girl to have front row seats to see such amazing designers showcase their collections.

I will also be posting the pics and reviews of Heidi Leung and Nabil Nayal, as well as the fun I had backstage, so do check back later.

AW11 Preview: Chanel Prestige Eyewear Collection

I love glasses, well I kind of have to as I wear them, and I adore sunglasses, so I was in heaven yesterday as I previewed the autumn/winter 2011 Chanel Prestige Eyewear collection. For most designer lovers sunglasses are the best option to have a piece of your favourite label in your wardrobe, and this Chanel eyewear line has all the signature touches of the clothing and iconic handbags.

The collection takes its inspiration from the interlaced leather chain from the classic Chanel 2.55 bag, with both the optical and sunglasses featuring the weave chain-effect along the arms. There are three styles square oversize, aviator and my favourite the cat’s eye style. As well as classic black, the frames are available in muted hues of blue, taupe, grey, and a wine red.

What did catch my attention was how adorable the optical eyewear was, I know we all love big sunglasses, but for fellow specky geeks it is nice to know Chanel has your back with stylish frames. I feel in love with these wine coloured ones – how amazing are they – roll on November when they are out.

As well as loving all the frames the campaign for the collection is completely stunning starring the gorgeous Claudia Schiffer. Shot in black and white, Claudia’ striking looks really standout and I love the addition of camellias in her hair, cute touch.

I also found this amazing video about the creation of the collection, which features Karl himself sketching out his designs, oh how I would love to meet him!!

As well as checking out the new collection the showroom had some of the sunglasses seen on the runway. Love the feathered sunglasses.

It was so sweet of the Chanel PR team to invite me I had a blast, and I was so surprised and thrilled that I got to take pair of sunglasses away, so now I finally own something Chanel!! I have the lovely cat-eye sunglasses in the gorgeous grey-brown hue, I just can’t stop looking at them!!!

I love them so much!!!

Metropolitan Opera IV: YSL Ladies in Black – Lindsey, Olivia, and Claudia

Who: Supermodel Lindsey Wixson

Where: At the Metropolitan Opera Season IV premiere of Rossini’s Le Comte Ory

Wearing: A black silk muslin dress with lace details, lace bustier with embroidered black crystal belt, finished with a black crystal ring, black velvet sandals and an ivory satin clutch with black velvet detail

Verdict: Lindsey is my best dressed lady in black, and a lot of it has to do with her sexy attitude in this dress, mixed with bold red lippy and slicked back hair. I love the sleeves, the cuffs, and the corset of this dress from the Edition Soir 2011 collection, but the stand-out piece of her outfit has to be that bling ring!!

Who: Olivia Munn

Wearing: A strapless black velvet Yves Saint Laurent floor skimming gown, teamed with a belt in black velvet with gold bow and piping details, and finished off with black suede gloves, black velvet heels and a black velvet clutch with embroidery detailing

Verdict: I always find that Olivia really knows how to work Old-Hollywood glamour to the full, and this dress really has an elegant glamorous quality to it that I adore. I love the addition of teaming it with slouchy gloves – gorgeous.

Who: Claudia Schiffer

Wearing: A black silk crepe Yves Saint Laurent halter dress with band details and open back, finished off with matching metal clutch and heels

Verdict: As always the German supermodel looked gorgeous and elegant, for some I am sure that this look is a little dull and boring, but come on Claudia is rocking this simply-yet-sleek floor skimming gown to perfection.
