Women In Film: Rose Byrne & Kiernan Shipka In Max Mara

MaxMara-Byrne-Rose

Who: Actress Rose Byrne

Where: At the 2014 Women in Film cocktail party hosted by Max Mara honouring Rose Byrne with the ‘Max Mara Face of the Future’ award held at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, California

Wearing: A midnight blue sequinned V-neck Max Mara cocktail dress, teamed with dual-tone black and silver, toe-cap heels. matching navy blue nails and a messy waves in her hair

Verdict: As the focus of the party, Rose really did shimmer in this eye-catching sequinned dress. It is very her, signature Max Mara, and perfect for a cocktail party, but I have to be honest I kind of wish she had worn different heels, maybe something strappy, and worn a statement piece of bling like a diamond-encrusted bracelet. I adore the dress I just wish the styling had been a little different.

The party also attracted some of Hollywood’s hottest stars including Christina Hendricks, Erin Wasson, Amanda Stenberg, Darby Stanchfield, Sophia Bush, Bella Heathcote and Ahna O’Reilly, who of course all looked incredible wearing either Max Mara or Sportmax looks – but the young actress that really shined for me had to be Kiernan Shipka.

Kiernan has really been impressing of late, she really does love fashion and takes risks that really pay off, and I loved her edgy-yet-feminine look at the cocktail party. Pairing a perfectly tailored white silk Max Mara top with a beaded neckline with a fun and edgy Max Mara pleated leather skirt – should a great monochrome look made exquisite with the pop of yellow from her Christian Louboutin studded bag.

Are you as impressed with Kiernan Shipka as I am? Do you like Rose Byrne’s look?

Noah: Jennifer Connelly’s Gorgeous Promo Tour

Noah-London-Jennifer-Connelly

I love a big film release, not only is it fun to see a blockbuster at the cinema, it also brings out the best red carpet fashion outside of award season and Cannes. For Noah, the epic biblical-inspired movie, I thought I would be gushing about Emma Watson, granted I have already and she has looked gorgeous, but for me this promo tour has all been about Jennifer Connelly, who plays Noah’s wife in the film, as she has looked sensational.

I have loved every look she has worn, from the exquisite floral embellished Alexander McQueen gown from the autumn/winter 2014 collection that she wore to the London premiere to the blush pink Givenchy Couture gown that she wore in Mexico, this gown was Oscar worthy and it was lovely to see her in it – the fuchsia jewels were incredible and it fitted her perfectly.

Jennifer has also added a touch of sex appeal to her red carpet looks as well as statement floor length gowns, I really loved her in this gorgeous mint leaf-embroidered Giambattista Valli Couture mini – that ruby-embellished neckline totally makes this one knockout look. This Madrid look was also one of my favourite make-up looks from Jennifer as well – the fuchsia lip teamed with a slick bun really makes this one amazing look – both elegant and sexy.

Actually ever detail about her Noah promo tour has been spot on – from the mix up of designers, which is nice to see, to the various hair and make-up styles that she has gone for, as well as her love of embellished and classic pieces – her stylist Leslie Fremar and glam squad really have done a great job.

It is hard to choose a favourite look, I love her classic custom Lanvin black velvet column gown that she wore in Berlin, because the thigh-high slit was classy and went perfectly with those Christian Louboutin heels and her hair styled in a tucked-under ’do is divine, but I think the pink embellished Givenchy Couture just wins out for me as this gown deserved a red carpet appearance.

Which of Jennifer Connelly’s styles gets your vote?

Noah Berlin Premiere: Emma Watson In Wes Gordon

Emma-Watson-Noah-Berlin-6Who: Emma Watson

Where: At the premiere of Paramount Pictures’ ‘Noah’ in Berlin, Germany

Wearing: A navy tulle chiffon Wes Gordon floor-length gown with a racer back and bow back-detailing from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with Christian Louboutin and black stud earrings and layered rings

Verdict: I am having a bit of a girl crush on Emma Watson lately, not so much the Oscars that Vera Wang was a little blah, but every other red carpet she has hit this year she has been edgy, sexy and different. I always think it must be hard for young starlets, red carpet is so important to becoming a big star in Hollywood, and I love that Emma always looks at ease and enjoys taking chances with her style.

For some this look might seem a little plain, I have to disagree I love the sexy-sporty vibe of this statuesque look – everything from the colour, that blue is divine, to the chiffon bow and racer back – not only does she look incredible in it but she is really working the edgy slicked-back hair and bold red lippy to make this a great overall look.

Is it just me gushing over this look? I really can’t wait to see what else Emma Watson wears on this Noah promo tour.

Floral Beauty: Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta

Blake-Lively-Odlr

Who: Blake Lively

Where: At the 2013 ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s’ event in New York City

Wearing: A white silk faille floral woodblock printed Oscar de la Renta gown featuring sorbet threadwork and sequin embroidery from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with an Oscar de la Renta sorbet crystal necklace and nude Christian Louboutin heels

Verdict: I am in love with this off-the-shoulder romantic floral number by Oscar de la Renta. Not only is it beautiful, the embroidery and floral design is divine, it is nice to see a different side to Blake Lively – maybe her fashion choice was down to the fact she was accompanying her hubbie, Ryan Reynolds.

It is hard to pull off this bell-shape silhouette, but I think Blake does it with ease and looks charming and elegant – for me this beautiful gown is like a work of art.

Finishing off her look Blake stuck to the runway styling teaming her gorgeous gown with a sequinned necklace also by Oscar de la Renta, which added a modern touch to the vintage-vibe of the dress.

As well as loving the gown, her hair and make-up is also adorable and flawless, her loose, half-up hairdo looked perfection.

I have really been missing Blake Lively on the red carpet – hopefully she will make more appearances in the run up to award season.
