SS14 Campaign: Mulberry’s Animal Tea Party

Once again Mulberry has put together a whimsical English rose setting for its spring/summer 2014 ad campaign starring a very girlie looking Cara Delevingne in an animal tea-party themed shoot.

Not only is the concept cute, the styling of Cara by Edward Enninful is the most demure I have ever seen her look, she looks every inch the archetypal English rose – however I do think the animals are grabbing most of the attention!!!

I do love a charming English tea party, but I think I adore Mulberry’s take even more, with a white pony, a Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican and two cockatoos, apparently called Archie and Spud taking centre stage – it just shows that even for a model like Cara it is hard to compete with gorgeous animals – especially the pony, Dusty isn’t she just a darling.

I really do think that Tim Walker and Mulberry is a match made in heaven – I love this cute and quirky ad campaign.

Cannes Film Festival: Cara Delevingne In Burberry

Who: Model Cara Delevingne

Where: At the Opening Night of The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival for the Great Gatsby Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Theatre Lumiere

Wearing: A custom-made black Burberry gown with a plunging lace neckline and long sleeves, styled with diamond Chopard jewellery and hot red lips and nails

Verdict: Burberry and Cara is a match made in heaven. This is another gorgeous black Burberry gown that looks spectacular on the model. Even though the gown is simple in its silhouette I love the lace trim to the plunging neckline, sides and the sleeves, really adds a sexiness to the gown.

I am also pleased that she vamped up this black look with her hot red lips and nails, oh and brought her infectious attitude to the red carpet – she really does sell this look to perfection.

Hot, hot, hot!!!

Met Gala 2013: The Stars Who Embraced ‘Punk – Chaos To Couture’

Safe to say that a lot of celebrities and designers struggled with the punk fashion theme at this year’s Met Gala, some embraced the studs, fishnets, the safety pins, spikes and wrapped tape look, most went with heavier eye make-up than usual, some really took the theme to town, Madonna I am talking about you, while others just ignored it completely, Gwyneth I am pointing this in your direction, and some even made their hair the focus, oh hello Anne Hathaway’s bleached blonde hair-do!!!

Usually I do individual posts for the Met Gala much like my Oscar coverage, but this year I thought I would just do a round-up of my best dressed looks, and focus more on the stars that actually made punk high-fashion.

As you would expect with it being punk, there was a lot of black, not as much leather as I thought, but lots and lots of black. My favourite black look, and one of my favourites of the night, had to be Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev in Monique Lhuillier, a look featuring a leather and lace halter corseted bodice, black lace leggings and a tulle skirt, which was made perfectly punk with her incredible side-swept hair – seriously she so nailed it!!!

Coming in at a close second to Nina in the all-black category had to be Cara Delevingne in Burberry, as well as doing a great trench coat it seems that the British heritage brand also has a naughty side with this gorgeous and sexy spiked, plunging v-neck gown, which worked perfectly with her smokey dark eyes and sleek hair and her strong eye brows.

There were a lot of other black punk looks that caught my eye – Emma Watson in a revealing wrapped tape Prabal Gurung gown, Jennifer Lawrence in a polished Dior look, and Diane Kruger in Chanel, which was more grunge than punk but I did like the pink dip-dyed touch to her ponytail and spiked clutch. Then there were the blonde crop bombshells – Miley Cyrus and Anne Hathaway – who both looked incredible.

Sporting a slinky black mesh Marc Jacobs gown that Kate Moss has worn, I really liked Miley’s commitment to the theme and I think I am the only one who actually loved her OTT spiked hair. In contrast, Anne’s new blonde hair-do was more sleek and worked perfectly with her very revealing, gorgeously embellished vintage Valentino gown from 1992, which totally makes up for her Oscar look. I love that both totally went for it and I think it paid off.

But there was one look that completely blew me away and that had to be Sarah Jessica Parker wearing an incredible Philip Treacy mowhawk, a dark and moody paint-splatted printed Giles gown and incredible Christian Louboutin boots – now that is how you do punk fashion!!!

Do you have a best dressed from this year’s Met Gala?

Nick Knight: Instagrams Kittens and Couture

I am an avid reader of SHOWstudio, I just love how they keep coming up with fresh ideas, and for me founder Nick Knight is one of the most creative fashion photographers around, and today’s Instagram photo shoot is just more proof of that.

If you are following SHOWStudio on Twitter and Tumblr you will have probably have already seen some of the gorgeous pictures featuring kittens, chicks, puppies, oh and not forgetting Valentino couture, Prada and Mary Katrantzou clothes and the finest jewellery from Fabergé, Van Cleef and Arpels and Cartier starring model Cara Delevingne.

I was sold at the high fashion shoot with furry friends, but the pictures are incredible apparently inspired by “Internet memes, animal GIFs and Autumn/Winter 2012’s taste for grown-up, blown-up overdressing”, which translates as fabulous!!!

This little kitten is so cute and if I do say so myself is totally outshining beautiful model Cara and the exquisite Valentino Couture gloves and dress. The chicks, the rabbit in the Prada suit, and the puppies are also adorable, but what gets me the most is how the fact these incredible images were all taken with instagram – seriously amazing shoot and concept.

Are you loving the cute shoot as much as me?
