Doll Loving: Fan Bingbing Barbie

Fan-bingbing-barbie

If ever there was an actress that deserved to be immortalised as a Barbie it is Fan Bingbing, as come on she is already doll-like perfection. I have been blown away by the Chinese star’s red carpet looks since I first saw her at Cannes many years ago, she has this ability to wear dramatic dresses with ease, and I love that she incorporates her own culture into her exquisite looks.

One of her most recognisable Cannes looks from back in 2010 was this divine one-sleeve Dragon Robe gown by Laurence Hsu, it really is a piece of art with the waves, the tapestry-style print and the slinky silhouette, and Barbie really has recreated it perfectly. Not only is the gown amazing, I really love this look, but more than that they’ve really capture her delicate beauty right down to the blue coloured nails perfectly.

I really have to add this beauty to my collection, the only thing I wish they had also included was her drop earrings, but that is just me being extra picky!!! You can buy the Fan Bingbing Barbie for $39.95 from Barbie Collector.

Will you be adding Fan Bingbing to your Barbie collection?

Cannes 2014: Lara Stone Channels Barbie In Calvin Klein Collection

Lara-stone-lorealparis-2

Who: Model Lara Stone

Where: At “The Search” premiere during the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival in France

Wearing: A custom fuchsia cross-strap silk crepe Calvin Klein Collection gown, teamed with a diamond bracelet and her signature tousled waves

Verdict: Now that is how channel Barbie!!! I am a huge fan of hot pink on the red carpet, not just because I am a huge Barbie fan, OK a lot because of that, but I think a lot of it is to do with the clash of colours. When I see hot pink at Cannes it used to make me think of Diane Kruger in that incredible Jason Wu gown, but I think that honour will definitely have to be Lara Stone’s after seeing her in this gorgeous Calvin Klein Collection gown.

I am a huge fan of designer Francisco Costa’s Calvin Klein Collection gowns, he really knows how to make minimal a statement with the use of colour and sporty detailing, I just love the cross-strap at the neckline as well as the colour of this dress. You can really tell that this gown was made for the L’Oreal ambassador as it hugs her body beautifully.

It is for looks like this that I am always so pleased that Cannes always attracts all the top models to the red carpet.

It isn’t just her outfit that is breathtaking the model’s hair and make-up has never looked so good before, her skin looks absolutely flawless – I really have to try out L’Oreal Paris’ Nude Magique Blur Cream. For a full look at the products L’Oreal Paris used to create Lara’s look see below.

Women In Suits: Léa Seydoux Rocks Prada In Cannes

Prada-lea-seydoux-cannes

So my love of masculine tailoring on women seems to have turned ‘Women in Suits’ into a regular feature, it has its own category tag and everything, as well as its own Pinterest board. I really just can’t get enough, it started with me just loving women in tuxedos and now it is any androgynous chic look, with French actress Léa Seydoux wearing a blue Prada suit during the Cannes Film Festival being the latest celebrity to capture my attention.

What makes this a great look, other than the incredible fit of this masculine double-breasted suit, has to be the gorgeous blue hue that makes it feminine and looks like it was made to be teamed with her strawberry-blonde hair. Adding the crisp white shirt, the maroon Prada heels, chic dark nails and smouldering make-up really just completes this amazing look – I love it from head-to-toe and kind of want to be here!!!

It is casual in its colour, it is smart because it is a matching two-piece and the fact she is wearing it buttoned up, and it is also feminine and flirty with the fun heels and cool make-up – this is one great look.

Do you love Léa Seydoux’s Prada suit as much as I do?

Cannes 2014: All About Blake Lively…Oh & Ryan Reynolds

There aren’t many actress that have really posses that Old Hollywood magic any more, that can leave you speechless and wanting more – the red carpet has become a little predictable, we all know that Jennifer Lawrence will more than likely wear Dior, and I suppose it had to happen with the importance of a stylist, a lot is riding on celebrities appearances. Which is why I am so glad that Blake Lively keeps me guessing, surprises me with her choices, and always hits the red carpet looking elegant, sexy and glamorous.

This is why the Cannes Film Festival this year really does belong to the Gossip Girls’ star, Blake has wowed on every appearance and even though she is the face of a Gucci fragrance, you know that isn’t her only go-to designer, OK it is a lot, but not always. Following on from her fabulous appearance at the Met Gala Blake really seems to be on a roll and when Gucci are providing gowns like this it is no wonder she keeps on wearing them.

Her first look was probably my favourite of her Cannes red carpet appearances, the two-tone bordeaux silk-chiffon Gucci Premiere gown that she wore to the ‘Grace of Monaco’ premiere was just divine. Not only was it interesting with its geometric neckline and open back but I adore the elegance of the pleats teamed with the sexiness of that thigh-high split, plus it really did fit her beautifully. This was also probably one of my favourite hairstyles that she sported as well, that messy high braided ponytail looks like it was taken off the SS14 runways.

Look two was very different from the first, very fashion-forward and totally stunning – wearing an iridescent ankle-length Chanel Couture dress embellished with sequins, tulle and organza embroideries from the spring/summer 2014 collection. Not many actresses could pull off this look, I actually thought that Keira Knightley would have optioned this beauty, but I think Blake carries it off well, but I do think that it would have worked better on someone not quite as busty. What I do love about this look though is the styling, it is basically a carbon-copy of the what walked down the runway, complete with a silk kimono draped around her arms.

I think look three, another Gucci Premiere gown will have a lot of people gushing, might be more about her date than the dress, there is no denying what a gorgeous couple Blake and Ryan Reynolds make. Supporting her man at his ‘Captives’ premiere, Blake really did shine in this strapless black and white silk crepe fifties inspired evening gown – I love everything about it – from the silhouette complete with a full skirt and a dramatic train to the styling of the Lorraine Schwartz diamonds on her necklaces, earrings, bracelet and engagement ring. For me this look is what Cannes is all about, big, dramatic and show-stopping.

Ryan didn’t look half bad either in his Gucci black satin peak lapel one button Signoria tuxedo – I love the white shirt, white bow-tie combination. Is there a better looking couple out there at the moment?

Which of Blake’s three looks was your favourite?
