My Style: Feeling Blue But So In Love

OOTD Blue and in Love My Style: Feeling Blue But So In Love %tag

With the recent cold snap I feel like I have been wearing the same outfit, generally jeans, more often than not my biker boots, and nearly always a very warm jumper – today’s look isn’t that dissimilar to be honest but I decided to mix it up with a bright blue jacket I found hanging on the coat hooks by the door.

Don’t worry it is my jacket, just one that sadly has been forgotten about this winter, and I am not sure why as I love the colour and the fit. On a cold day like today it really did brighten my mood.

Today’s look is very blue – blue coat, jeans, sweater, scarf, Cambridge Satchel bag and even the gloves that my Mum knitted me – everything is a different shade of blue, well except for that red t-shirt peeking through underneath the sweater, my gold jewellery and black boots.

To balance out the blue feeling I decided to go for a soppy love vibe with my Zoe Karssen LOVE jumper that I picked up off The Outnet, I just love her printed slogans, I seem to be building a collection of her t-shirts, but this sweater is laid-back lux to perfection – super comfortable, so warm and totally me!!!

Finishing up my look are my cute new love heart initial bracelets and my love ring that I picked up at the Claire’s gifting suite at The Apartment during London Fashion Week.

My Style: Day Five At London Fashion Week

OOTD Day5 yellow pow My Style: Day Five At London Fashion Week %tag

The final day and even though my fashion flu has come on early I will be sad to see this fashion week go – I have enjoyed the spectacle, seeing the collections, and generally pushing myself to try new things with my outfits. So we’ve had boyfriend jeans, some sneaker love, a statement blazer, a pinafore dress and today’s look is a ‘boom’ ‘pow’ ‘zap’ of a look as I channel my inner super hero.

When I saw this skirt online at Topshop I love it, I was also worried I wasn’t cool or skinny enough to pull it off, but when I tried it on I really liked how fun it was and all the colours. I did plan on buying a red jumper to match the ‘boom’ but then I spied this neon yellow jumper in Toppers and it was a OTT colour match made in heaven.

Finishing up my colourful look is this gorgeous 13inch cobalt blue Cambridge Satchel Company bag that I borrowed from the Covent Garden stores lending library, I just couldn’t resist it – great colour, big enough to fit my iPad in and tickets, but not too big that it overpowers the look – plus I love carrying it like an oversized clutch.

The only thing with test driving a new Cambridge Satchel is now I am creating a mental list on why it ends to become a permenate member of the Fashionista Barbie bag collection!!!

My Style: Day Two At London Fashion Week

OOTD LFW Day2 dolls My Style: Day Two At London Fashion Week %tag

Day two and I am already a little tired, yesterday was incredible I saw so many gorgeous collections and today was another early start and late finish.

I started with a Woolmark breakfast at the ME London, which is the new hotel opposite Somerset House that you might remember from my Warehouse press day post, it has the most incredible view that I couldn’t resist having my style piccies done there, and ended the day with Rihanna’s debut clothing collection for River Island.

With the long day, the feeling that I might be queuing a bit for Rihanna, in the end it was only 50 minutes late, and with the general running around, I went for my bright Nike trainers as they are super comfortable and work really well with a skater skirt.

As you know I like a statement t-shirt and a skater skirt and trainer combo deserves a good one and I have been saving my Zoe Karssen ‘Valley of the Dolls’ tee since I snapped it off The Outnet late last year. I kind of think this t-shirt was made for me, and like most people this fashion week monochrome looks have been all the rage, and I always think black and white works perfectly with bright pink accessories!!!

Sadly I took my style piccies so early, like 9am, I didn’t have time to get my make-up professionally done, I did rectify that later on in the day when I popped by the Handpicked Media suite and the lovely Bourjois team did me the exactly catwalk look they did for Zoe Jordan’s show yesterday. I just love the subtle cat-flick on my eyes and the pink lips.

Party: Cambridge Satchel Company’s London Store

cambridge satchel party 9 Party: Cambridge Satchel Companys London Store %tag

On Wednesday night I went to a party that was fun, chic and uber-friendly, which I find is becoming a rarity and it was all down to the amazing Cambridge Satchel Company who were celebrating their debut store in Covent Garden.

Located in the cool Seven Dials area, on Short Gardens, I do love wandering through this area at the boutique sized stores, and this gorgeous handbag brand is the perfect addition. The store itself is incredible, it literally has ever colour imaginable on display from wintry Ox Blood, which apparently is one of the best sellers, to vibrant neon shades for summer and girlie pastel colours, that I adore and basically every colour of the rainbow and it was heavenly.

As well as gushing over which colour I wanted to buy next, I already have a neon pink and a pastel pink version, the store also launched its ‘Bloggers Lounge’, which the brand has done as a thank you to the bloggers who catapulted the brand to the dizzy heights we see now – how nice is that. So bloggers will be able to connect to the WiFi, grab a cuppa, and even borrow a bag – I have my eye on a cobalt blue one – basically a place for bloggers to hangout.

As well as great company, music from DJs including Sophie Ellis Bextor, one of the best bits other than the incredible chocolates, the chunks of cheese, and the bubble had to be these cute Cambridge Satchel shaped jellies – too cute to eat – my favourite was the glittery version.

LFW SS13: Day 4 – A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink…Again

topshop LFW SS13: Day 4 A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink...Again %tagDay 4 of London Fashion Week is generally about the big hitters Burberry and Erdem, unless like me you sadly don’t have tickets, one day here’s hoping. For me today was all about heading over to the Topshop venue on Bedford Square for the first time this fashion week, Barbie hitting the catwalk, seeing Mark Fast’s latest offering, as well as dropping in on the bloggers hangout The Apartment for a Forever 21 styling session.

First up Louise Gray at the Topshop venue and Barbie’s latest appearance at London Fashion Week, last year was Sister by Sibling but I was really excited to see the Louise’s three designs inspired by my favourite doll. My excitement for the show did sour slightly with the fact I nearly didn’t get in, sadly I only had a standing ticket and they said it was too crowded to let me in, thankfully I squeezed into the tent as the last minute. It does disappointment me that for a show that was sponsored by Barbie that they didn’t do more to support fashion blogs like mine that love Barbie, come on it is in my blog name!

But enough about that, back to the collection, I love how Louise Gray brings the fun to fashion. I love the energy and attitude of Louise’s shows, the soundtrack was incredible, and I loved the graffiti, doodles, and newsprint-esq prints on the shift dresses and tailored pieces. What stood out the most, other than the fab three Barbie-inspired pieces had to be the accessories – everything from the mirror-effect headgear, designed by milliner, Stephen Jones, to the Tatty Devine made jewellery, and the make-up was crazy finishing touch with cartoon crown’s pencilled over the top of the eyebrows and matte orange lips.

From Bedford Square I then stupidly along with Alex and Briony jumped on the press bus to Burberry, the furthest London Fashion Week venue, for some reason this fashion week I have been making some very rookie mistakes. To be honest though I kind of enjoy my bus trip through London!

forever21 LFW SS13: Day 4 A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink...Again %tag

Every day there has been something different at The Apartment today was Forever 21’s turn, they brought the specially curated Abi Marvel collection, which you must look out for in the Oxford Circus store, plus stacks of jewellery, sweets and their new shoe collections.

markfast LFW SS13: Day 4 A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink...Again %tag

Then thanks to Get Taxi I got to Mark Fast in plenty of time. Mark Fast is always an intriguing show, whether it is to see the plus-size models or to see what else he can craft in knit, or to see who is on the front row – last season it was Kanye West, sadly we all had to make do with Kelly Brooke who is doing the rounds this LFW.

To the soundtrack of Salt n Pepper, Mark Fast’s ‘Broke’ collection sent down model after model all sporting the same afro hairstyle and hip hop swagger. Of course there was lots of figure-hugging knitwear, micro skirts, and lots and lots of fringing. Obviously Mark Fast is saying if it isn’t broken don’t fix it!!!

Tedbaker LFW SS13: Day 4 A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink...Again %tag

My final stop of the day was the Handpicked Media suite to see the Ted Baker girlies, I love their autumn/winter 2012 collection so it was lovely to take a peak at my favourite pieces, but what I loved most was the Hunger Games-inspired display – very Katniss with the bow and arrow!!!

Day4Mystyle1 LFW SS13: Day 4 A Barbie Makeover, Mark Fast Goes Ghetto, and I Opt For A Flash Of Pink...Again %tag

To my look, well I went for a girlie vibe today as Barbie was in town, so I decided to team my Lulu Guinness for Uniqlo tee with my pleated black skirt, new Topshop boots, which simply go with everything, and I couldn’t resist a flash of pink with my Cambridge Satchel Company bag.

Bag Loving: Cambridge Satchel Company Launches Pastel Shades

RoseSatchelcollection Bag Loving: Cambridge Satchel Company Launches Pastel Shades %tag

I have long been a fan of the Cambridge Satchel Company, I love everything from the vintage boxy shape to the personalisation and the fact that they are British-made, which makes me wonder why I haven’t added one to my over-flowing bag collection already. I have to be honest I think the main reason is that it seems that every fashion blogger out there has one, you can’t turn around at fashion week without spotting one, oh and the big fact that I can’t seem to decide on colour or size!!!

Well, after seeing the new pastel collection I think I am getting closer to taking the plunge and snapping up a school-girl satchel. At first glance it is all about the gorgeous rose colour above, but the more I look at the collection the more I also love the duck-egg blue and the lemon, oh and the lilac, basically I want them all.

So all I need to do is choose my colour, size 11″, 13″ or 14″, oh and then whether or not I want to go for the embossing – I’m thinking that my initials D.W.S would be so cool – decisions, decisions – I am hoping that this limited edition collection doesn’t sell out before I make up my mind.

So which pastel would you pick?

The limited edition Pastel range is priced £105 – £115, and if like me you are after adding your initials then it is an extra £5 per letter.

Bag Loving: Funky Printed Cambridge Satchels

Day88 Bag Loving: Funky Printed Cambridge Satchels %tag

I loved these Basso & Brooke Cambridge Satchels when I saw them hit the catwalk at London Fashion Week, but seeing them up close at Goodley PR’s press day was too much to handle especially when these were just a one-off and wont go into product. I think these would be best sellers don’t you?
