Floaty In Kuala Lumpur

Floaty In Kuala Lumpur

There’s only one thing I wish I’d been able to do more of in Kuala Lumpur and that’s shoot some fabulous outfit posts. I know what’s happened to me. The thing is I’ve learnt this year that what makes my style posts go easier is a great backdrop and there were so many great locations in this Malaysian capital. Sadly travelling alone meant no-one to capture my looks. I did try asking random strangers, even by targeting those with SLRs and it didn’t quite work out. I have lots of blurry and cropped pictures of me in great locations.

Thankfully there was one day when I got to see the city, as well as Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week – more coming soon on the amazing fashion, with Joyce from Kinky Blue Fairy, which meant I was able to shoot one of my favourite looks from my trip, this gorgeous floaty maxi dress.

My Style Post Evolution

My Style Post Evolution

This year I hope you’ve notice a change in my style posts, it was one of my goals for 2015 to make this section feel more editorial, glossy, and inspirational – so I’ve been trying new things, finding great locations, as well as try and inject my personality over into the pictures, instead of being a nervous wreck. I have to be honest it is something I still find difficult, I still get nervous posing, I’m over critical in editing, lots of photos don’t make the cut, and I still need a confidence boost to press publish so you guys can see.

I mention on Instagram that my style posts have been on a journey this year, and thank you all for your lovely comments, it really has made me realised that I am on the right track. I think it has helped that I am doing them more regularly, something that you guys asked for and I hope that you’re enjoying seeing more of my style, it really has helped me step away from wearing jeans every day. I actually think it has been a while since jeans were the focus of a style post, and I’m quite proud that I keep pushing myself to try something new.

Summer Ready Legs & Floral Prints

Summer Ready Legs & Floral Prints

The scariest thing about summer dressing has to be that moment when it is too warm to wear tights, jeans, or your favourite tailored trousers, and you actually have to show the world your legs and the effects months of winter has had on them, which in my case means super dry legs. For me, confidence comes from three areas, whether my hair is doing OK, is my outfit flattering, and the added pressure in the summer whether my legs look toned and fuzz-free, I used to be bothered about them being tanned but I’m really embracing my pasty ways and factor 50!

So when Braun invited me to a pampering day at the Rosewood London with yummy food, shopping, and a leg makeover by celebrity beautician and Braun ambassador, Nathalie Eleni on the itinerary as part of their Silk-Epil  9 campaign I jumped at the chance, any tips I can get on making my legs summer ready I’m totally there.

My Style: Feeling Blue But So In Love

OOTD-Blue-and-in-Love

With the recent cold snap I feel like I have been wearing the same outfit, generally jeans, more often than not my biker boots, and nearly always a very warm jumper – today’s look isn’t that dissimilar to be honest but I decided to mix it up with a bright blue jacket I found hanging on the coat hooks by the door.

Don’t worry it is my jacket, just one that sadly has been forgotten about this winter, and I am not sure why as I love the colour and the fit. On a cold day like today it really did brighten my mood.

Today’s look is very blue – blue coat, jeans, sweater, scarf, Cambridge Satchel bag and even the gloves that my Mum knitted me – everything is a different shade of blue, well except for that red t-shirt peeking through underneath the sweater, my gold jewellery and black boots.

To balance out the blue feeling I decided to go for a soppy love vibe with my Zoe Karssen LOVE jumper that I picked up off The Outnet, I just love her printed slogans, I seem to be building a collection of her t-shirts, but this sweater is laid-back lux to perfection – super comfortable, so warm and totally me!!!

Finishing up my look are my cute new love heart initial bracelets and my love ring that I picked up at the Claire’s gifting suite at The Apartment during London Fashion Week.
