Save the Children Gala: Jennifer Garner In Calvin Klein

Calvin-klein-jennifer-garner

Who: Jennifer Garner

Where: At the first-ever Save the Children benefit Gala held at Cipriani in New York

Wearing: A knee-length black dress by Calvin Klein with pockets and spaghetti straps, teamed with black heels, a black clutch and diamond earrings and bracelet

Verdict: This look is so effortless for Jennifer. The dress is chic, the accessories are perfect, and she is wearing just the right amount of sparkles – I love this look.

There isn’t anything special about this look, there is no pop of colour, she hasn’t even done anything amazing with her hair, but you know it just works – she really does look elegant and natural and I adore her make-up.

The event hosted by Jenna Bush Hager, honoured not only the Alias actress with the Advocate Award for her support for Save the Children but also former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who looked amazing in bubblegum-pink number.

Star Trek Into Darkness: Zoe Saldana In Calvin Klein

zoe-saldana-berlin

Who: Actress Zoe Saldana

Where: At the ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ photocall held at the China Club in Berlin, Germany

Wearing: A grey Calvin Klein skirt and crop top featuring criss-cross buckle straps to the back, both from the autumn/winter 2013 collection, teamed with nude Jimmy Choo ‘Tahi’ sandals

Verdict: I know everyone is excited about the Great Gatsby promo tour to begin, I am as well, but I am so pleased to see Zoe Saldana on the red carpet trail for the up-coming Star Trek movie as she always brings something a little different.

This look is sexy, chic and edgy all at the same time, which is a pretty hard to do. I love the sophisticated vibe of the pleated wool skirt, the colour, the length and the large pleats are perfection. Whereas most celebrities would have probably paired with a white shirt and completed the sophisticated vibe, I love that Zoe added a sexy touch by teaming with a matching crop top, which with her incredible figure looked amazing.

So we’ve had chic and sexy and then Zoe turns around and gives us a whole lot of edge with those incredible criss-cross buckle straps, I seriously wish I had the figure to pull this look off.

Finishing up her incredible look are a great pair of heels, these nude Jimmy Choo sandals with their flower inspired perforated detailing are hot.

With a look like this for a photocall I can’t wait to see her premiere look!!!

Golden Globes 2013: Jessica Chastain In Calvin Klein Collection

Who: Jessica Chastain, who picked up the award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in ‘Zero Dark Thirty’

Where: At the Golden Globe Awards 2013, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A seaform silk crepe custom Calvin Klein Collection halter dress, teamed with Harry Winston diamonds

Verdict: This dress was not what I was expecting from Jessica Chastain, I was expecting something a little more edgy, instead this gown has an ethereal quality to it that I don’t think translated well.

I look at it and I want to love it, and in part I do, the colour especially is perfection against her skintone and her fiery coloured hair, and I loved the backless style of the gown, I just felt it wasn’t fitted very well.

Considering this was a custom gown it just looked like the bodice was a little big and the silhouette of the gown was unflattering it really needed to be nipped in more at her waist – she has a great figure that isn’t being shown off in this dress.

What did totally work were her jewels as she was dripping in Harry Winston diamonds worth $3 million – that cuff is gorgeous.

Do you rate Jessica’s look?

Olivia Wilde: One Night, Two Stunning Looks

There is something different about Olivia Wilde of late, don’t get me wrong she has always been stunning, extremely beautiful and graceful, but she seriously hasn’t wowed me in a long time, so long I had to delve deep into the Fashionista Barbie archives to find her in that gorgeous Marchesa gown that she wore to the  68th annual Golden Globe Awards – now that was a frock. Since then she really hasn’t stood out on my radar, well that was until last night in New York where she wore two amazing dresses as she promotes her new film Butter.

First up was a very chic Alexander McQueen white leaf crepe pencil dress from the Resort 2013 collection, which fitted her perfectly. What I love most about this look, other than being very envious of her fab body, is that she wore this in white, she could have so easily gone for black and it wouldn’t have had the same impact, plus I adore white teamed with gold accessories – those Giuseppe Zanotti heels are amazing. Plus what better way to finish off a look than with an Alexander McQueen skull box clutch – absolutely love it from head-to-toe.

Second up, and by no means least, was her incredible transformation into a green printed Calvin Klein Collection cape dress for the afterparty and the launch of Calvin Klein’s new men’s fragrance, Encounter, you know the one with hunky Alexander Skarsgård as the face.

Her stylist, Karla Welch, who has been a busy lady lately also styling Zooey Deschanel and Kelly Osbourne at the Emmys, has really done an incredible job. I love cape dresses – hey Gwyneth Paltrow really did steal the show at the Oscars in Tom Ford, and I love any cape on a gown – especially when being worn by Sarah Jessica Parker, her red Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown was divine, and I really do feel that Olivia’s Calvin Klein look is just as gorgeous.

I have to admit I love seeing cape gowns go dramatic and skim the floor but I actually think those Calvin Klein Collection cobra chain heels really pull off this look falling just above the ankle. Another stunning look from Olivia.

Which of the looks do you think Olivia works best?
