Golden Globes 2013: Julianne Moore In Tom Ford

Julianne Moore, Tom Ford, Golden GlobesWho: Julianne Moore

Where: At the Golden Globe Awards 2013, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California

Wearing: A draped back black and white silk georgette Tom Ford gown with long sleeves, teamed with a black nappa panama weave clutch with gold metal band and Bulgari jewels

Verdict: Julianne Moore looked incredible in this custom Tom Ford gown, which she emailed the designer to ask if her would design her look, and not only is it working the monochrome trend but it was also perfect for her to brave the Californian chill.

This Tom Ford gown didn’t make as much of an impact as his other red carpet triumphs such as Anne Hathaway‘s and Gwyneth Paltrow‘s, but it totally works for Julianne’s style and I love how the white panels have a slimming and lengthening effect, not that she needs it.

Finishing her look are the most incredible and bold Bulgari  22-carat diamond and yellow gold earrings. Now they are statement earrings!!!

Prometheus: Charlize Theron In Christian Dior

Who: Charlize Theron

Where: At the Prometheus UK premiere in London

Wearing: A strapless fully sequinned Christian Dior Couture cocktail dress with side split, teamed with Dior heels and Bulgari jewellery

Verdict: I haven’t been that wowed by Charlize Theron lately and she has had a lot of opportunities to shine with all the films she has been promoting, as well as Prometheus she is also starring in Snow White and the Huntsman. However, this Dior dress caught my eye, granted it isn’t the most showy of dresses for a premiere, but I am loving the midnight blue shimmer from the sequins.

It is a simple yet stunning look and the side split and the sheer hemline adds a bit of Charlize sexiness to it that is just right.

Cannes 2012: Nina Dobrev Sparkles In Elie Saab

Who: Nina Dobrev

Where: At the amfAR’s Cinema Against Aids Gala held during the Cannes Film Festival

Wearing: An electric blue off-the-shoulder sequinned embellished Elie Saab gown, with a side split from the spring/summer 2012 collection, finished off with Jimmy Choo heels and Bulgari jewellery

Verdict: I am loving Nina Dobrev’s red carpet style lately, she really worked it at the Met Gala, and this Elie Saab gown is another exquisite choice. I love the colour, it is vibrant and bold and the perfect way to standout at Cannes, I also love the silver accessories. This whole look has a sexiness about it, while still being elegant and youthful. I love everything about this look.

Met Gala 2012: Topshop Dresses Jamie and Dree

Not content with being outdone by H&M who have been working the celebrity red carpet circuit of late, Topshop dressed two big stars for the Met Gala 2012 in New York last night. First up is actress Jamie King, who was created a custom-made dress using the Unique autumn/winter 2012 devore silk fabric with cross motifs, and the Topshop in-house design team decided that her dress needed to be a bold red colour, and I am glad they did as the colour really worked.

This dress however is gorgeous from the front, but it is exquisite when you see the open-back teamed with that gorgeous Bulgari necklace that draped down her back, one of the best jewels of the night for me. Oh and that train is just divine, finishes off the dress perfectly.

The high street brand also modified one of the dresses from the Topshop Unique autumn/winter 2012 catwalk show for model Dree Hemingway. The gold sequinned dress was apparently going to be floor-length, but the team decided to make it knee-length and I am so glad they did as I think it works better falling just below her knee. I also love the sheer panelling to the bust, gives it a sexy vibe that works with her pop of red lippy.

So which Topshop dress gets your vote – Jamie or Dree?

I am wondering if there is a formalwear collection in the works for Topshop? If there was would you buy?
