I’m a coat hoarder, I love wrapping up warm and as a result my wardrobe has become packed filled with coats of all varieties – from my new fav, the Next pink check beauty **which FYI is in the sale at £35** that has a Clueless vibe about it, to a Paddington Bear duffle that is the just so cosy teamed with a chunky jumper, and even the most unflattering puffa jacket that once upon a time I thought were cool, which now I realise were never cool and still can’t seem to part with.
For me I love the idea of online shopping, and don’t get me wrong I do buy online, but only once I have checked out the real thing or trust the source, if you know what I mean. I think it is because there is so much choice in terms of websites, and then pages and pages of products on the sites, you can, and I have literally lost a days work scouting through all the new arrivals. Which is why I was so glad to have the chance to check out Boohoo.com’s autumn/winter collection at its recent press day, as it was nice to see what trends they are bringing to the site.
I think Boohoo have taken all the popular trends for autumn/winter: there were flashes of the 60s with block colour, shift dresses, cute collars and boxy separates; and 70s with a country girl vibe of bohemian long layers *yes the maxi is still going strong*, chunky knits and prints in soft tones, as well as the shaggy faux fur coats in a mixture of colours.
As well as a very cool Luxe Grunge collection, filled with black and animal print for a rock ‘n’ roll look of maxi skirts, oversized separates, sheer fabrics and funky knits. I loved this faux leather shift, with its textured panels and exposed zip detailing to the back.
One of my favourite pieces had to be this red blouse with cut-out panels and lace detailing to the back, my only worry about wearing this though is it is probably a little too cropped to the front. But paired with skinny black jeans this would be a hot look.
What did surprise me about the collection was the accessories, the footwear is filled with cute loafers, chunky boats and healed brogues, I particularly like the tan and black ones with lace tassels, and at such reasonable prices.
The bags also offer a great choice with very ladylike clasp handbags, and if you like a designer copy then you will love this very cute tiny version of the Celine tote.
I do enjoying looking for daily shopping picks, and this week I thought I would do from online shopping sites only, first up is Boohoo.com.
I have picked out this gorgeous Charlie Cape Detail Playsuit, £20; I just love how flattering it looks with the cape detailing to the top. If like me you are a little scared of a playsuit, I do always think they are designed for skinny minis, then this is perfect as the floaty detailing hides a magnitude of sins, while still looking retro and girlie with the floral print.
I also love how you can wear during the day with some flats, or glam up with some wedge heels and chunky jewellery. Oh and to top everything off it is a great price at only £20!!
