Doll Loving: A Blake Lively Barbie Doll…Well Sort Of

Barbie Zuhair Murad Doll Loving: A Blake Lively Barbie Doll...Well Sort Of %tag

I have always thought that Blake Lively with her model looks and blonde hair would make a great Barbie doll, well it seems so did Mattel, in a round about way. My favourite doll is getting her latest designer makeover and this time it is red carpet favourite Lebanese fashion designer Zuhair Murad, who is known for being one of Jennifer Lopez’s go-to designers.

His work is always edgy, sexy and divine, and one of my favourite looks over the past few years has got to be when Blake Lively wore one of his creations to the ‘Savages’ premiere and channelled Old Hollywood glamour with a striking Art Deco-inspired black and blush mermaid couture gown.

Well it seems that was one of Barbie’s favourites as well as the dramatic striped geometric design has been made pint-size for her limited edition red carpet-ready look. I just wish they had finished off the look with Blake’s retro waves than the boring updo and this Barbie would have been perfection. But that is the tiniest of flaws – I need this collectable doll in my collection.

I wonder what Blake thinks of her mini-me.

Want one of these limited-edition dolls for yourself? The Zuhair Murad Barbie will set you back $75 – you might have to wait a while though as it is already on back order at barbiecollector.com.

Floral Beauty: Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta

Blake Lively Odlr Floral Beauty: Blake Lively In Oscar de la Renta %tag

Who: Blake Lively

Where: At the 2013 ‘A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s’ event in New York City

Wearing: A white silk faille floral woodblock printed Oscar de la Renta gown featuring sorbet threadwork and sequin embroidery from the spring/summer 2014 collection, teamed with an Oscar de la Renta sorbet crystal necklace and nude Christian Louboutin heels

Verdict: I am in love with this off-the-shoulder romantic floral number by Oscar de la Renta. Not only is it beautiful, the embroidery and floral design is divine, it is nice to see a different side to Blake Lively – maybe her fashion choice was down to the fact she was accompanying her hubbie, Ryan Reynolds.

It is hard to pull off this bell-shape silhouette, but I think Blake does it with ease and looks charming and elegant – for me this beautiful gown is like a work of art.

Finishing off her look Blake stuck to the runway styling teaming her gorgeous gown with a sequinned necklace also by Oscar de la Renta, which added a modern touch to the vintage-vibe of the dress.

As well as loving the gown, her hair and make-up is also adorable and flawless, her loose, half-up hairdo looked perfection.

I have really been missing Blake Lively on the red carpet – hopefully she will make more appearances in the run up to award season.

Cover Loving: Blake Lively Wraps Up In Gucci For Lucky Magazine

Lucky Sept Blake Lively Cover Loving: Blake Lively Wraps Up In Gucci For Lucky Magazine %tag

So the September issues are finally dropping and I have been a little underwhelmed so far, well that was until I saw the gorgeous Blake Lively all wrapped up in this incredible oversized cornflower blue Gucci coat with shearling collar.

Granted with our mini heatwave that we are having wrapping up in a shearing collar coat doesn’t sound appealing – but come on you have to admit that the Gossip Girl star looks incredible on Lucky’s September cover.

Snapped by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, the actress who married Ryan Reynolds last year is the first cover girl for the magazine’s redesign with new editor-in-chief Eva Chen, if like me you are huge Teen Vogue fans you will already be familiar with her work.

Just from the cover I can see that Eva is bringing a more high-fashion feel to Lucky, which I am already excited about, and even though in the past I have enjoyed reading Lucky the covers never really drew me in – but I think that could all be changing.

Head on over to Lucky to see a preview of her cover shoot, Blake looks amazing in an Anthony Vaccarello dress, a classic DKNY trench, a sexy red gown that you will be surprised to find out is H&M, as well as cool oversized Givenchy jumper teamed with the sheer skirt that Zoe Saldana wore on the red carpet - I also love that the mag credits her wedding ring, which in case you were wondering she is wearing throughout!!!

In the accompanying interview Blake chats about dressing up, on texting Christian Louboutin for shoe advice, her style evolution, not having a stylists and how apparently her hubbie has “better taste” than her – I can’t wait to read – I have loved Blake since her GG girls as Serena van der Woodsen and this is a great cover.

What do you think of the new-look Lucky? Are you a fan of Blake Lively’s cover?

For more insight into her cover shoot – check out the behind-the-scenes video that Lucky have posted:

Gucci Premiere Launch: Blake Lively Shimmers In Gucci

GucciPremiereBlakeLively1 Gucci Premiere Launch: Blake Lively Shimmers In Gucci %tag

Who: Blake Lively, the face of Gucci’s new fragrance Gucci Premiere

Where: At the unveiling of the Director’s Cut of the Gucci Premiere film held at the Hotel Cipriani during the 2012 Venice International Film Festival

Wearing: A one-of-a-kind burgundy sleeveless deep v-neck, fully embroidered Gucci cocktail dress featuring raised flower detailing around the neckline, teamed with burgundy python Gucci Kinga Spike high heels, and pink gold and black diamond bracelet and ring finished off her look

Verdict: Well it was a given that Blake would wear Gucci, but what did surprise me was the colour, I love this deep wine shade on her, and I was expecting a gown that skimmed the floor, but I suppose considering she made her entrance on a boat it is hardly surprising that she chose to go short.

Blake looked absolutely incredible, everything from the shade to the high-glitz of the fully embroidered overlapping palettes, to her flawless make-up and messy updo, I love this look from head-to-toe. It may not have been what I was expecting but I love that it wasn’t girlie, this cocktail dress is edgy and it suits her.

I also had to include the picture of Blake with Frida Giannini, as I just adore Frida’s grey silk crepe Gucci cocktail dress with Art Deco-inspired beaded – the silhouette is divine.

What do you think of Blake’s look? Was you expecting something different?

Check out the Nicolas Winding Refn’s director’s cut of the Gucci Premiere film below – I loved the commercial version but this is just exquisite, I especially like the soundtrack.

Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes

BlakevsGwyneth Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes %tag

I have never noticed before until both Gucci and Hugo Boss unveiled their latest fragrance faces that blondes obviously smell better as well as having more fun!!! This week both luxury labels released their short films and both it seems went for a old school Hollywood glamour, Veronica Lake-inspired waves, a room with a view, as well as the trademark sexy walk and the alluring spray shots.

Even if you aren’t that keen on Blake Lively or Gwyneth Paltrow, I don’t think you can deny how amazing they both look in these ads, and I find it staggering that there is a 15 year age gap. Seriously is Gwynnie getting younger?

But striking looks aside in the battle for the best blonde I am going to have to give it to Blake and her Gucci ad, not only does she look stunning in a gold sequin Gucci gown, but it just feels more special and memorable – maybe it is all the gold, very Olympian of them, or maybe it is the historic setting of the Goldstein Residence – but for me this just feels more opulent.

The Hugo Boss ad I think suffers from bad timing, if it didn’t come out at the same time as Gucci’s maybe I would have thought differently about it – but for me it just feels flat. Gwyneth looks stunning in her one-shoulder Hugo Boss dress, but I felt a little weird watching her getting ready – I don’t know it just doesn’t sparkle.

But seeing both Blake and Gwyneth it made me wonder what other famous blondes have rocked a fragrance campaign – and just with a quick spell of research it seems a lot!!! All the big names from Dior to Chanel and Calvin Klein have all gone for a blonde in recent years - literally everyone from Diane Kruger to Scarlett Johannsson and even Charlize Theron and Nicole Kidman owned their scents with blonde locks.

I know I am going to get a comment that Keira Knightley is working her brunette hair in a Chanel fragrance campaign and Kristen Stewart was just unveiled by Balenciaga – but come on you know what I am getting at – a high percentage of fragrances seem to be fronted by blondes – I just found that interesting.

So who rocked their blonde locks better for you – Blake or Gwyneth?blondefragranceads Video Loving: Battle Of The Fragrance Blondes %tag

Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old-Hollywood Glamour

gucci Gucci Première: Blake Lively Channels Old Hollywood Glamour %tag

Since I heard the news that Blake Lively was the face of Gucci’s upcoming Gucci Première fragrance, named after and inspired by the brand’s red carpet collection, I have to admit I was excited to see the campaign being shot by Mert & Marcus. The first preview of the campaign, ahead of the Nicolas Winding Refn short film, which will premiere during the Venice Film Festival in September, hit Twitter this morning and I was in awe at how gorgeous it was.

Marking Blake Lively’s first fragrance campaign this print ad just shows that she was the perfect face to front this new luxury fragrance as she really does have an Old-Hollywood feel about her, especially with her Veronica Lake hairstyle.

I love the styling, her fully embellished sequinned open-back gown is exquisite, team that with her undeniable beauty, and the shot into the mirror and this is just a truly gorgeous campaign and it has totally left me wanting more and even more excited about the short film.

What do you think of this campaign? Do you think Blake was the right face for the campaign?

Savage Beauty: Blake Lively A Vision In Gucci

BlakeGucci Savage Beauty: Blake Lively A Vision In Gucci %tag

Who: Blake Lively

Where: At the New York premiere of her new film Savages

Wearing: A one-of-a-kind buttercup yellow halterneck silk georgette Gucci gown with a plunging neckline, teamed with striking turquoise drop earrings and a stack bracelets

Verdict: I was wondering how long it would take for her to wear Gucci on this Savages promo tour after being announced as the face of the new Gucci Première women’s fragrance last week. Don’t get me wrong I am glad she did this is a breathtaking gown that looks incredible on her.

Blake really has impressed me so far on this promo tour and it was always going to be hard beating that gorgeous Art Deco-inspired black and blush mermaid couture gown by Zuhair Murad that she wore to the LA premiere, but I really do think she looks absolutely radiant in this dress. I don’t think I have seen her in this colour before but I love it on her.

Finishing off her look with bold turquoise earrings and a fishtail braid was the icing on the cake for me – she really has upped her fashion stakes and I am exciting to see what comes next!!!
