My Style: Winter Walk – All About Barbour and Comfort

I wasn’t going to post these pictures, mainly because I am not wearing any make-up and I am a little low in self-confidence when it comes to my skin, but my love for my Barbour coat won out. Most Sunday morning’s Paulie and I try to go out for a walk, well we do live in the countryside and it seems a shame not too, and last weekend we went to one of my favourite places Wimpole Hall, which is literally down the road from us.

As you can see from my pictures it was cold, snow still down on the fields – but very picturesque and it was so lovely to get out into the countryside ahead of the London Fashion Week madness – even if I do look like I am wearing 10 layers!!! Plus come on how chic do my hiking boots look – very I think you’ll agree *so, so joking*.

Wearing: Barbour Winter Force Parka; F&F skinny jeans; Bank snood; hiking boots – not sure what make, but they are comfie as hell; and the brightest gloves I could find.

Pull!!: Barbie Goes Shooting With Barbour

Last week I was invited to the annual Barbour Clay Shooting Day and I have to admit I squealed with excitement as well as worry that I wouldn’t actually hit anything as this Barbie had never been shooting before. First of all I nearly didn’t make the coach in time, yes I was that kid at school who kept the coach waiting for a day trip, embarrassing keeping everyone waiting. In my defence London underground didn’t help me!!

The day took place at the E.J. Churchill Shooting School in Buckinghamshire, and started with a warm welcome from the very stylish Helen Barbour, who talked us through the amazing autumn/winter collections, which included her new shooting range. Helen was lovely and joined us all day for the shooting, and even came over to say hi as apparently the Barbour PR girls all love my blog, I did blush!!

After breakfast, we picked up our Barbour hat and earplugs, were split up into team and hit the shooting range. I have to admit my very patient instructor was a godsend, especially as after the morning practise session I had only hit two clays out of about 30!! I have to admit, and my team very worried, that for the competition there was no chance in hell that we would win.

How wrong I was, must have been the competition spurring me on as I actually hit a lot, I know shocker right but for the actual competition I got 21 out of 30, which meant I helped Team 7 to victory!!!

Look how small the clay is, and then imagine it coming at you or curving away, and then take into account the weight of the gun, oh and my worries of the kickback. Yeah you might have guessed it my instructor said I was thinking too much, she just kept saying “kill it like you mean it”.

The best shot of the day was thankfully in my team, the lovely Stephanie from South Molton Street Style blog who scored an amazing 26 out of 30, so as well as winning a Barbour jacket and champagne she also got a Barbour weekend bag.

Also in the winning team *below* was the very cool, and very hungover Lasse from the band Wolf Gang *above*, Stuart from Barbour, Alistair Guy’s assistant Luke, and Stephanie.

As well as day a filled with shooting, sun, champagne, gorgeous food and lots of laughs, it was also great to check out the new collections. I have fallen in love with the Barbour Gold Label by Temperley London Somerset Biker Jacket, which looks amazing over the cosy Suffolk cardigan.

As I was in the winning team I get to choose a Barbour jacket from the autumn/winter collection and I have to admit I can’t wait, I love the quilted versions but I think I am going to go traditional and get a waxed version. I love this belted one below. There was also talk on the day of getting Barbie her own miniature version as well, fingers crossed that comes off!!!

Big thanks to the lovely Sophie and Francesca from Dust PR for the invite, as well as Helen, Stuart and Natalie from Barbour, I had such a great day.
