I read somewhere the other day – “be perfect at being imperfect” and it really rang home. My never-ending battle with perfection, basically trying to create a life I think I should have, rather than actually living my life has become exhausting. It used to be that perfectionism was reserved for my work, but it has some how creeped into all aspects of my life, whether that’s with my appearance, how my home looks, or tragically, how my Instagram grid is looking, it is draining and causing more anxiety – so I’ve decided that it is OK that my life is Perfectly, Imperfect.
Anyone else obsessed with buttons? I know, random thing for me to ask, but button-down is one of the hottest trends this summer, whether that’s buttons down your skirt, dress or even top – buttons are everywhere on the high street and online, that it felt only right to get involved. You guys know I’m always happy to take one for the team. OK, so I hear ya, buttons aren’t exactly new, but this summer they really are taking centrestage, buttons are much more just a fastener, they are this season’s simple-but-chic embellishment. When it comes to spring style, my trusty denim jacket is top of the list, it has become this perfect wardrobe staple that literally goes with everything and makes a summer look fit for spring, and that changeable weather. You know what I mean, sunny weather but freezing, well my Primark denim jacket has become my go-to jacket of late as not only is it so comfortable, but I love that it is the perfect fit. Even though denim jackets are everywhere, no matter what every brand has one, year-in-year out, the fit of each is such a personal thing.

When the clocks go forward I actually get a little excited that warmer weather is on its way, I know I’m probably being too hopeful, but actually, at the weekend it was double figures and in the sun it was actually warm enough not to wear my coat. I know, baby steps, but I do love that there seems to be an end in sight for the end of winter, so I wanted to inject a little vitamin C into my wardrobe with the addition of some sunshine yellow pieces, and that’s when I found this beauty on Asos. So when did a pink coat become the new neutral? I’m not sure either but I love it. For me, beige, camel or white isn’t always my style, don’t get me wrong I love my camel coat, but it isn’t generally associated with fun and flirty, and that’s where I think a pink coat adds another layer to any look. The beauty in pink is that it is surprisingly easy to work with, it looks great with primary colours, other shades of pink, black, pastels, bold jewel tones, other neutrals, as well as denim. So basically a great addition to any wardrobe.
