Every day we are bombarded with charitable causes to support, I’m up to three that I give monthly contributions to, but there’s one charity that seems to just understand how to get the masses involved and that’s Comic Relief and its Red Nose Day. Whether it is buying that chocolate bar, a limited edition Lulu Guinness tote, or one of its iconic red noses, there is something for everyone to get involved in, plus your also getting something in return for helping people in need both at home in the UK and in Africa.
There’s something about a casual sunny Sunday with brunch plans with my husband that just calls for Converse. They just yell casual, comfortable and yet when they are covered in leather sequins you can also feel stylish.
I wasn’t going to bother doing a play-by-play look at the Vanity Fair red carpet, **the Oscars red carpet was a little disappointing this year**, well that was until I heard that Diane Kruger was to wear custom Donna Karan Atelier, and as soon as I saw the hybrid dress-come-jumpsuit creation I knew that I couldn’t not share it – just look how amazing it is!!!
My outfits are normally pretty safe, I like jeans, jumpers, ankle boots, the occasional flared skirt, leather pencil skirt, and dress, as well as statement jewellery and a great handbag – so I never thought that I would buy or wear stripy jeans!!!
I bought these beauties at the Donna Ida pop-up at Cheshire Oaks, not only were they a bargain down from £150 to £25, but Donna herself convinced me to try them on and to be honest who am I to argue with the Queen of Denim.
When I saw them I loved them, the mint colour is just amazing, but I instantly thought I could not only pull them off but my chunky thighs would look even bigger – what surprised me the most is how they are actually flattering and slimming.
To tone down the stripes and to make it more me I decided to pair them with lots of black – a chunky jumper, cut-out boots and my new Anya Hindmarch ‘Tiny Tim’ handbag, which granted doesn’t hold a lot but is oh so pretty.
Considering I was pretty nervous about rocking these jeans once on I felt amazing and I think I pulled them off by keeping the styling simple. I can’t wait for summery weather as they would look great with a black tee and strappy black heels.
How would you style these stripped beauties?
