Primetime Emmy Awards: Nicole Kidman In Antonio Berardi

Who: Nicole Kidman

Where: At the 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles

Wearing: A white column Antonio Berardi gown featuring blue embellished detailing to the bodice and front from the spring/summer 2013 collection, teamed with Christian Louboutin heels and Fred Leighton jewellery

Verdict: I do love seeing London Fashion Week designers on the red carpet, what makes Nicole Kidman’s dress choice even more amazing is that this Antonio Berardi gown only just hit the catwalk last week, that is fast turnaround – I haven’t even blogged about the show yet.

There is always an elegance about Nicole and this gown is perfection for her, I love the column silhouette, but this dress for me is all about the incredible striking blue embellishments – simply breathtaking.

ELLE Style Awards: Rosie Angelic In Antonio Berardi

RosieELLE ELLE Style Awards: Rosie Angelic In Antonio Berardi %tag

Who: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley

Where: At the ELLE Style Awards 2012 held at The Savoy, London

Wearing: A sheer Antonio Berardi dress with cape detail from the spring/summer 2012 collection, teamed with nude sandals

Verdict: After the disappointment of the BAFTAs I was thrilled at the fashions at the ELLE awards and my best dressed had to be Rosie in this angelic-meets-gladiator vibe dress. I love the sheer and silver-embroidered detailing of this dress – it really does look amazing against her complexion, but for me this dress is made exquisite with the addition of the cape – very ethereal – I LOVE IT!!!

I really don’t think Rosie can do anything wrong, I love her casual looks and her red carpet style just blows me away. It seems everyone at ELLE agrees as Rosie picked up the well deserved Style Icon award.

#LFW: Excitement As The Schedule Is Announced

So last week the British Fashion Council announced the official London Fashion Week schedule for SS11 for September. I have been mulling over the schedule and I am liking what I see. The big highlight has to be Giles Deacon confirming his return to London, marking a return following two seasons in Paris – he appears on the fourth day and it will definitely be the hot ticket of the week.

Giles Deacon commented on his return to London: “Giles is a quintessential London label and I am extremely happy to be showing in London after two successful seasons in Paris”.

Other things I was happy to see on the schedule were: Swedish fashion house Acne are debuting at LFW for the first time with two salon presentations, which is nice to see, especially after the successful opening of their London flagship this week on Dover Street. Other newcomers to the schedule include one of my favourite emerging designers Holly Fulton who is going a catwalk show with the help of NEWGEN sponsored by Topshop.

It is also great to see that Burberry Prorsum, Matthew Williamson, Pringle of Scotland, Antonio Berardi and Jonathan Saunders are returning for a third consecutive season. As well as British talent in Paul Smith, Jasper Conran and Betty Jackson to world-class emerging designer businesses such as Christopher Kane, Erdem, Marios Schwab and Richard Nicoll. It is going to be a great season.

But one of the most interesting things to see on the schedule is that of a Alexander McQueen Memorial set for Monday, September 20, at 11am. No further details have been announced yet, but I am sure it will be packed full of fashion editors and fashionistas paying their respects, I just hope that they also stream it live for all his fans as well.

I am already making my wish-list of tickets: Erdem, Sass & Bide, PPQ, DAKS, adidas by Stella McCartney, Mulberry, Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Kinder Aggugini, David Koma and Holly Fulton back-to-back, Mark Fast, Peter Pilotto, Jaeger, Christopher Kane, many more I am sure – and of course Burberry and Giles *well a girl can dream*.

At least this season I will be dropping down to more shows for work, my registration is already submitted, I also can’t wait for the digital schedule to be announced as watching from the comfort of my sofa was also a nice luxury.
