My Style: When JD Met Tommy

I spend a lot of my time in jeans, from skinny to boyfriend and even the odd flared cut, in dark blue, light blue, red floral print, grey, and even a stripy pair, I just love them, but this summer I have really been embracing the good weather **where the hell has it gone** and trying to wear more summery, girlie looks.

Last week, when the sun was shining, I wore this Tommy Hilfiger beauty that I found on Amazon’s dress store, yep that place where you buy books, blu-rays, and the occasional Barbie, **I call it the online shop for the three B’s**, has opened The Dress Shop, which has thousands of dresses from brands including Cacharel, French Connection, BCBG, Great Plains, Yumi and Hoss Intropia.

It was hard to just choose one out of thousands, but it was easy to find this short-sleeved blue and white checked dress using Amazon’s easy-to-navigate search for the ‘Occasion’ with dresses for work, evening, special occasion, and casual, which is so perfect for summer dresses. You can also ‘Shop by Trend’ choosing from lace, fit & flare, colour pop, pastels, or just white, basically they have a dress for everyone and for all occasions.

What I love about this dress is that it can be dressed down with gladiator flats and a matching skinny belt, or with fancy black heels and a statement necklace, it really is a versatile piece for my wardrobe that will definitely be perfect come winter time as well.

I actually wore this for a day lounging in the park reading magazines and listening to music, which was the perfect opportunity to try out my new bright blue Monster N-Tunes headphones. I love the on-ear style, especially these ones as they are lightweight as well as being super comfortable with the padded cushions. I also loved that they come with tangle-free cables, you probably don’t believe me but trust me they really work, it is one of my pet-hates having to untangle my headphones for 10 minutes before being able to use them.

I also got to take out my new Moschino case out for my Samsung S5, this case is a limited edition style and features a peace pattern, and I love that it has a handy card pocket on the inside so you just need to take your mobile out with you on a night out. The only thing I need to get use to is the flip style, it makes it a little uncomfortable while on the phone. The best bit though is when you close the case it also turns the screen on and off, so saving battery, which is always needed with me!!!

So what do you think of my Tommy Hilfiger dress and new gadgets?

Online Fashion Week: I Team Up With Amazon.co.uk

I have had an amazing couple of months, as well a my blog seeming to go from strength-to-strength thanks to all you lovely readers, HTC flew me off to New York for a launch, weekly magazine More gave me a whole page in their blogger special, which I promise I will blog about soon, and now I am teaming up with Amazon.co.uk as part of their Vogue Online Fashion Week project.

Basically Amazon.co.uk has gathered together five fashion experts, their words not mine, to put together their top picks from the site with a strong emphasis on their fashion offering, which if you didn’t know is amazing. I was asked to put together my favourite 10 items, which was incredible difficult as Amazon.co.uk stock the most amazing selection  of dresses, jeans, knitwear, boots and even jewellery, as well as all the great techie stuff, gorgeous books and of course they have a Barbie store – so I am a regular to see what’s new!!!

So yesterday was the lovely Gemma from Catwalk Queen, and today is the turn of Fashionista Barbie and I am so excited to share it with you all. I basically treated the project as a Christmas wish-list as well as sharing a few of my favourite brands that frequent my blog, so there of course is a Barbie in the mix, a bag from Osprey London, denim by Beg, Borrow or Steal, knitwear from EMU Australia, a chic winter coat from Full Circle, and as I have just recently become a Godparent I couldn’t resist adding in a baby outfit.

I also included a number of fashion books from the exquisitely illustrated Fairy Tales from Victor & Rolf to Christian Louboutin’s coffee table book, which features photos of over 100 of his designs. There is also a cute little stocking filler in there as well – Fashion Face-Off playing cards that I so need this Christmas!!!!

Amazon.co.uk for Vogue Online Fashion Week isn’t just about my top picks, which I hope you love, but it is also a great opportunity to get Christmas shopping as you get a 10% discount on clothing, shoes, jewellery and watches during OFW. All you need to do is apply the code VOGUEOFW at the checkout, the offer is valid until 23.59 on December 9, 2011.

Want to see my picks in more detail? Then head on over to Amazon.co.uk’s OFW page – Amazon.co.uk/vogue.

**Can I also quickly say a big thanks to Amazon.co.uk and the team for including me in this project and for making it look so fantastic I’m overjoyed with how it looks.**
