British Designers Collective: Alexa Chung In Bella Freud

Who: Alexa Chung

Where: At the British Designers Collective pop-up boutique launch at Bicester Village

Wearing: A black merino Bella Freud ‘je t’aime Jane’ jumper, which on the reverse stated ‘Gainsbury is God’, teamed with a floral Celine skirt from the resort 2012 collection, and finishing off her look were black Nicholas Kirkwood loafers and a leather jacket

Verdict: I am going to be honest as much as I love this jumper and floral skirt combo, and I do love it a lot especially the sweater with its homage to Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg’s legendary love affair, I just can’t get past how skinny Alexa looked and her knees just scared me.

There is no doubt that Alexa has style, I love her laidback chic look, but what I can’t help but wonder when I look at this picture and when I saw her in person on Wednesday at the launch is if she was too skinny.

What do you think?

Numeros Prives: Chanel Jets Celebs To Las Vegas

Over the weekend French fashion house Chanel jetted out their fav models, actresses, singers, stylists and high-profile journos to Las Vegas to celebrate the launch of the Numeros Prives exhibition at the Wynn hotel. No expense was spared – private jets, Chanel-decked chauffeured cars, lots of disco balls and even a Chanel vending machine!!!

My favourite of the celebrities had to be the gorgeous Diane Kruger who looked stunning in an iridescent sequin embroidered Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection. Granted this isn’t an amazing picture the beaded curtain kind of looks a little like the dress but I adore the high neck and the shimmering effect of the sequins.

Another amazing look was from Jessica Alba, who I have to admit I was wondering whether it was Rachel’s or Brad’s styling, as they were both there. I think she looked stunning in this monochrome silk Chanel dress from the 2012 Cruise collection, teamed with Chanel fine jewellery – that white gold, black ceramic and diamond encrusted cuff is just divine.

I find this image that Alexa tweeted a little surreal as I have also had my picture taken next to the giant Chanel 2.55 bag – when the exhibition was inside Harrods. It was also nice to see Alexa wearing a little colour in this pale blue boucle mini Chanel dress from the spring/summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection – I just love the buttons down the front.

Shop Her Style: Alexa Chung Gets Foxy For NYFW

Who: English fashionista Alexa Chung

Where: Working her magic at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week to see Christian Siriano’s autumn/winter 2o11 collection

Wearing: A quirky silk form-fitting maxi Deyrolle Pour Opening Ceremony dress with fox print, nipped in at the waist with a skinny black belt, and finished off with cut-out red platform heels and her trusty chain strap Chanel bag.

Verdict: Always one to go for something a little different, well this quirky fox print is certainly that. You know what I actually like it. I love the fitting of this maxi, looks amazing on her and the fact that it has an eccentric print makes it perfect for fashion week! I don’t think I have seen Alexa in such a playful look in a while. For me it is a winner.

Shop Her Style: Pick up this foxy beauty from Opening Ceremony for $360. I just wouldn’t wear to a hunt!

Like the print but not keen on the maxi? Well fear not as you can get it as a top, maxi skirt, mini dress, and some items even come in yellow – check out the whole Deyrolle Pour Opening Ceremony here.

Label Loving: Angel Jackson Gorgeous Bags

Pic: Fringing and sequins courtesy of Angel Jackson

Fashion and accessories label, Angel Jackson, may have launched in 2005 by sisters Katie and Millie Smith, but I have to admit I have only recently been introduced to the label at the recent House of Fraser press day. Since then I have been a tiny bit obsessed, seriously the sequins draw you in!!

What I love about this fashion label has to be its use of pop culture, fringing, sequins, and I adore the quirky touches such as the cowboy Lucky clutch *kind of reminded me of Ashish catwalk show*, with its gold pistol and lucky horseshoe charms. However, my favourite item has to be this pop art inspired POW Satchel, £297,  with leather front fringe detailing. OMG if Santa is reading please let this gorgeous bag be mine!!

Pic: Angel Jackson - Santa please can I have the Pow bag?

If like Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller, Sophie Ellis Bextor or even Lady Gaga and you were already in the know, then shame on you for not sharing!! But for everyone else like me who needs more sequins in their lives then you have to check out what Angel Jackson has to offer.

Whether you want a little bag for your Christmas party, New Year’s Eve bash or just to work the commute – these bags will give you that statement look you are after.

You can pick up these quirky purses, clutches, satchels, and totes via the labels website, or at amazing shops including HoF, Harrods, and Fenwicks, as well as online at ASOS.
