LFW SS14: The Apartment – My Home For Fashion Week

I have already mentioned the incredible The Apartment the brainchild of Abi numerous times, yep I have gushed a little in my London Fashion Week diary blogs, but who can blame me this is a sanctuary away from the fashion week circus to feed my face, make me pretty, and a place to hangout with my favourite bloggers.

Each season always brings a new location and I think Abi really out did herself for the third season of the LFW Apartment with this incredible flat overlooking Covent Garden’s piazza. The place was huge, a great lounge area to chill, a huge table filled with laptops, and bedrooms filled with accessories and clothes to style up for fashion week posts, a Vidal Sasson salon, and a make-up boudoir from Birchbox who had Laura Mercier make-up artists on hand.

But as always it is more than just about the location, the gorgeous pieces to lend, or the hair and make-up, The Apartment also hosts exclusive events each day from jewellery making with Dower & Hall, to discovering London Boutiques, and checking out the new collections from Debenhams, and each day the teams at Pinterest and RewardStyle were also on hand to share tips, advice and sweet treats.

Fashion week can be stressful, tiring and chaotic but Abi’s The Apartment has made it fun, even relaxing and always filling – I really enjoyed Pizza Express every day – but I think the best thing is that I’ve met some amazing bloggers.

To show off what an amazing place it was I did one of my HTC Zoe videos, it seemed fitting as I had done one for each day at LFW – I think you will agree it looks incredible:

I did take my own pictures, but to me honest the ones that Kris Atomic took were way better – here is a selection of my favourite ones:

My Style: The Apartment x Dulux Collective Passion

I am an avid fan of The Apartment set up by my friend Abi, London Fashion Week was revived for me with the blogger sanctuary, and now Abi has adapted the initiative to work all year round by teaming up with brands to create unique blogger events.

I have shared with you the amazing nails from The Apartment x Dulux Collective Passion event, well here are the behind-the-scene snaps and my moments in front of the camera, which showcased my outfits that translated the Dulux Collective Passion spring 2013 colours – basically a group of bloggers were asked to raid their wardrobes.

What was cool about this event, other than finding outfits that I forgot I had, which sadly weren’t in Dulux’s spring colours, was the fact that a global paint giant like Dulux would want to appeal to fashion bloggers – in such a fun way.

So with an amazing Apartment just off Old Street, the spring colours painted on different walls, a make-up artist on hand to make me presentable, pieces of jewellery to style-up my look, and my Dulux-inspired nails I was ready to shoot against the colourful backgrounds in the style of Destiny’s Child ‘Say My Name’ video – which was so much fun.

I brought along three looks, I tried to go for all block colours and dresses, not sure why but I generally don’t do one-colour looks that aren’t dresses First up was my orange Dorothy Perkins shift dress that is one of my favourite dresses in my wardrobe, which worked perfectly with Dulux’s Orange Fizz shade, and I loved the contrast with my Dulux Sapphire Spring and Rock Candy shaded nails.

For my second look I went for my Jaeger Boutique dress that was nearly spot-on for Dulux’s Sapphire Spring, one of my favourite colours from the spring trend palette. What I love about this look has to be the contrast against the Citron Sunrise wall.

It was such a fun event to be part of, and a great example of how non-fashion brands can get their products seen by a fashion audience and I loved every second of it. Plus what I also loved is that I got to hang out with my friends – don’t we all amazing!!!

The Outnet Summer Style: How I Took Victoria Beckham & Rebecca Minkoff To A Festival

Yesterday I blogged the first of my three looks at The Outnet Summer Style session, well from daytime lunching we went to chic festival fashion, no muddy fields, no Wellington boots, just VIP all the way with tea cups, well that was the brief and I went all out on the right accessories for the job.

Like Olivia Palermo who wore a navy blue and black colour scheme to Christian Dior this week, I also like the combination of the two colours – so I paired a gorgeous, slightly too big for me, black A.L.C. washed-silk wrap-around maxi skirt with a sports-luxe mesh-sleeved jersey Marni top, but for me this look was all about my accessories.

Top of my list of accessories needs were sunglasses, you can’t go to a festival without them and I picked out the most gorgeous pair of Victoria Beckham shades, they had everything I wanted from the retro cat-eye style to the detachable chain – well I don’t want to lose them while dancing now do I!!!

I paired these beauties with one of my favourite clutches from New York designer Rebecca Minkoff, I just thought that my navy/black combination could do with a pop of colour and what better than leopard print, granted you can’t fit a lot in there for a festival but remember I was going to an imaginary VIP festival, and I just had to include Rebecca Minkoff as she is one of my favourite designers.

Finishing off my look were some touches of jewellery, I love the bright pink and blue Dannijo jewels, they worked perfectly with my three silver Philippe Audibert bracelets, and my Pamela Love ring. Plus my only sensible thing were my flat shoes, I really liked the bright blue flash from the Pour la Victoire’s ‘Edilia’ leather sandals.

Ella from Coco’s Tea Party looked adorable in her printed Thakoon top paired with her leather See by Chloé – if I had her figure and legs I would also have worked tiny shorts. I also loved Kate from I Am Not A Celebrity in neon pink and that gorgeous Pamela Love harness-style necklace.

Next up will be my eveningwear look, which is my favourite of the three, and you will also spot the Victoria Beckham shades and Rebecca Minkoff clutch making another cameo, I loved them so much I had to include them again.

So what do you think of my chic festival look? I really liked the semi-sheer maxi skirt, would have loved more if it had fitted me – I had to be bulldog clipped in so it didn’t fall down, but I do like the combination of the sporty tee with the more dressy maxi – but for me this look is all about the accessories.

Don’t forget that all the blogger looks are on sale at The Outnet.

The Outnet Summer Style: All About The Marni Bag

When my good friend, blogger and photographer extraordinaire Abi Marvel told me to keep July 4th free for something fun, I have to be honest I didn’t even question it, because as Abi was organising it I was totally in. Well, Abi certainly pulled out all the stops by teaming up with designer discount fashion retailer, The Outnet for an afternoon of basically playing dress up, and it was so much fun.

The first of my three looks, and part one of my The Outnet Summer Style series, was all about chic dressing for lunch with my blogger pals – Alex, Naomi, Ella, Kate, Monica, and of course Abi. I originally picked out a gorgeous Barbie pink Thakoon dress, it was gorgeous, it just didn’t look amazing on me, so for my first look I actually stole something off Alex’s rail, well she did seem to pick out the whole shop.

As soon as I saw this striking pleated crepe Tube Gallery dress I was in love, everything from the bright orange colour to the bead-embellished straps, this dress was perfect for me. I finished my look with metallic cut-out Jil Sander heels and this divine, will fit everything, while still looking chic Marni bag, I loved it so much I had to include it in the group shot. I just really liked the size and I just thought that the woven leather bag was a great match with the cut-out heels. Now if only I had £500+ to buy it!!!

I really loved all the other girls outfits, Kate from I Am Not A Celebrity looked amazing in DvF, Ella from Coco’s Tea Party was stunning in Versus, I fell in love with Naomi from The Fash Pack’s neon Christopher Kane, Alex from Alex Loves wore the Felder Felder mini dress that I have been stalking for a while, and Monica from The Elgin Avenue carried the Rebecca Minkoff clutch that I currently have sat in my wish-list.

My two other looks, coming soon, are festival fashion with a twist, think more chic than mud-ready, as well as my favourite the evening wear look where I got to dress up in a gorgeous Felder Felder gown.

What do you think of my daytime look – do you like the combination of the orange Tube Gallery dress with nude Jil Sander heels and that Marni bag that totally made me swoon?
