I love, love, love the autumn/winter 2012 collection from 3.1 Phillip Lim, not only was the collection full of Pop Art-inspired graphics and Ka-Pow slogans, but I love how it also spawned the Superhero trend which I adore, I dream of owning The Break Up PVC and Leather pouch, and it seems that Karlie Kloss has some competition on being the only superhero model that kicks ass.
With the autumn/winter collection taking inspiration from graphic novels Sin City and V for Vendetta and “the neo-noir heroines who embody it” the designer has decided to created his own fashionable comic with the help of legendary comic book writer John Ostrander and Star Wars artist Jan Duursema to help launch the new season.
Kill The Night launches on September 6, better known as Fashion’s Night Out, and tells a story of “duality and metamorphosis, day and night, black and white, love and betrayal”, while still looking chic – check out the divine masks and that cute pleated tunic on the cover.
How I wish I was going to be in New York for FNO as every shopper to purchase something in the Phillip Lim boutique will receive a signed copy of the comic book, as well as an additional 15 per cent off. OMG jealous!!!
Non-New Yorker’s don’t despair as apparently you can also snag a copy online, and the brand plans to post ”exclusive behind-the-scenes content” on its social media sites, including revealing whom the characters are based on. I think the more I learn and see about this comic the more I need it in my life.
I love it when fashion designers create new concepts to create a buzz for their collections and this one by Phillip Lim is definitely one of the most creative.
Would you buy the most fashionable comic?
